Upgrade service error after ZFD3 SP3 to ZFD4.01 upgrade

Hi,
Having upgraded from ZFD3.2 SP3 to ZFD4.01 and carefully following the
documentation instructions I still get the following error on the Inventory
Service startup screen:
"The Upgrade Service is migrating the schema
An error has occurred. The upgrade service is exiting now."
The Inv Srv object Server Status log says:
"1178: An error occured while performing the DBSchema migration
1177: Unable to complete all the operations, the upgrade service is exiting
with errors.
106: The Storer succesfully connected to the database
108:the database in not initialized as it is being upgraded"
All of these errors on the support site have as a fix either restart the
Inventory Service or contact Novell.
I've spent some hours now looking for a fix on Knowledgebase and in the Zen
forums but can't find anything useful. This is the second time I've run the
upgrade and this problem has occurred. I've reinstalled Zen3.2 from scratch,
applied SP1 and SP3.
I've checked policies and database objects, all appears as it should be.
These seem to be the relevant errors from the log files:
Migration Log:
Migration Exception Message->Could not add the dbspace..ASA Error -121:
Permission denied: unable to create the dbspace file "CIM10",
SQLState->42501, ErrorCode->262
Zenworksinvservice log file:

[12/2/04 12:37:05.286] ZenInv - Upgrade Service: Upgrade to ZfD4.0 or ZFS3.0
SP1 failed. Reinstall ZFD4.0 or ZFS3.0 SP1 and start the inventory server

See full logs below.
Is there no option but to go straight to Novell?

Starting Schema Migration
Adding the extra db spaces...
SELECT file_name FROM SYSFILE WHERE dbspace_name LIKE '%CIM9%'
has the results
File_NAME=mgmtdb9.db
dbfile's base directory =
SELECT file_name FROM SYSFILE WHERE dbspace_name LIKE '%CIM10%'
CREATE DBSPACE CIM10 AS 'mgmtdb10.db'
Totaltime taken for Schema Migration : 149
Migration Exception Message->Could not add the dbspace..ASA Error -121:
Permission denied: unable to create the dbspace file "CIM10",
SQLState->42501, ErrorCode->262

I am getting identical errors with NW6.5 SP3, edir 8.7.3.6 upgrading from
ZFD4.01 to ZFD6.5. Haven't found any knowledgebase items on it.
Thanks,
Doug Streit

  • Reporting Services Error after Interactive sorting and drill down in pps

    Hi
i have a report  that has a drill down option that shows all workgroups within a specific  parent group and an interactive sorting ass well on both columns  parent group &  workgroup
This is displayed  in pps combined with a SharePoint
---the problem is that after sorting the parent group column by name   i then press the drill through icon  (+) next to it hopping to see all workgroups related to each parent group
      - but instead
i receive this Reporting Services Error  :
The value for parameter 'SortItem' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null. (rsMissingParameter) Get
    Online Help
If I don't press the sorting and just drill through it works fine. the sorting itself also works fine.
    any suggestions ?

    Hi Hyaron,
I am unable to reproduce the issue in my test environment. How did you add the drilldown feature? Were you doing that by setting visibility of the column or of the group? Please ensure to add the drilldown functionality by set the visibility of the workgroup
from the Grouping Pane in the Report Designer.
How did you add the Interactive Sorting on the headers of the two columns? Based on the drilldown functionality, the Interactive Sorting on the second column doesn’t work. So, you can move the Interactive Sorting on the second column. When configuring the
Interactive sorting on the first column, you should set the parent group to sort, and sort by the field that the parent group groups by.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error after update installation Method Method 'Upgrade' in type ...

Hi guys after the install of some upgrade i can t access to my SharePoint site and i recive this error
    Method 'Upgrade' in type
    'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices.WorkflowServiceApplicationProxy' from
    assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices, Version=15.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' does not have an
    implementation.
    Any idea?

Microsoft has started pushing security updates for SharePoint along with windows update. If you are using automated patching tool , then you should be aware of this. Same thing happened to me. Our automated tool pushed through patches for share point security
update that needed SP1 as pre-requisite and our environment didnt have that. So it broke everything in all farms, 5 farms broken all together. What you can do is try to install any new security update . This will restart all the process of patching and make
    your farm accessible.
I opened up a support ticket with microsoft so August security update broke my farm so just to fix it i had to install may security update for the shake of restarting the  whole prcoess. If fixed the farm. I eventually ended up installing SP1 any way
since security update introduces office 365 tab in central admin and it was broken due to lack of SP1.
    hope this helps.

  • Web Service error after upgrade to ECC 6

    Hi,
We've create web services which are running well on ECC 5.
These services will be used as an interface to other system and will return an XML result to the caller
But when we upgrade the server to ECC 6, we can't connect to the webservice
    The error message is:
An exception with the type CX_INVALID_TRANSFORMATION occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause The transformation /1BCDWB/WSS0081211055642490454 could not be executed
I guess it's the XML transformation issue on the ABAP code
    Any idea on this issue?
    Regards,

Have you looked in transaction STRANS at that transformation /1BCDWB/WSS0081211055642490454  ..?  These transformations are automatically generated by SAP based on the Virtual Interface definition in ECC5... if the transformation does exist in your ECC6 system, try using the "Check" function in STRANS to see if it indicates what it doesn't like about it.  If it's not there in ECC6, check it in ECC5 as STRANS you should be able to see what structure / element it relates to and maybe you'll need to regenerate that (I think in ECC6 that's now via SE80 > Enterprise Services > Service Definition - I'm on ECC5 today).

  • Kernel Power error after Win 7 and RAM upgrade

    Hello,
I posted earlier on the subject of win7 and ram upgrades.  I did both and it seemed to go fine.  I did the ram first ... replaced a 667Mhz 1gb with a 800Mhz 2gb.  A couple of days later the computer just shut itself down and restarted.  Since then it has done it another 5 times, seemingly at random.  Yesterday I decided to spend some time looking into it and found the 'event log'.  All the shutdowns are recorded as 'critical'.  A search on the web/here showed other occurences of the fault associated with drivers as much as anything.
After I did the win update I did update almost every driver with ones from this site.
Other than the shutdowns the only issues I have which are of very mild concern are the length of time the fingerprint reader takes to be present and that occasionally the cursor is unavailable for about a minute after logging on. When you try and control it it jumps about anywhere but where you want it to go.   I rolled back the alps driver and that seems to have sorted the cursor issue.
So, details of the shutdown from the event log are as follows.
    Log Name:      System
    Source:        Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
    Date:          16/01/2011 16:21:31
    Event ID:      41
    Task Category: (63)
    Level:         Critical
    Keywords:      (2)
    User:          SYSTEM
    Computer:      (removed by me)
    Description:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
There's more (I've shown it all below) but it's not that important.  When I looked into it I found details of the problem on the microsoft knowledge base.  Its described here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504.
I believe I fit into scenario 3 for cause and resolution.
So, it seems that win7 and mixed speed ram may be a problem on some computers ... probably only a tiny number, but it looks like the HP3507 is one of them.  I did see somewhere that I could down speed from 667 to 266 which might help with memory compatability but I can't see anywhere on the the insydeH20 bios where to do it.  BIOS is version F18 .... upgraded from F15 as part of the Win7/RAM ugrade.
Before I swap back to the 'old' memory I'll see if anybody here can come up with any ideas.  It may be that I have to sell off the expensive 2gb memory (ddr2 800mhz 200 pin) for £39.99 from maplin at a bargain price and get 2gb of 667Mhz from somewhere.
The full 'detail' regarding the fault is below.
    Bye for now.
    Phil

Thanks for your replies. Yes I did the runtime engine registry change and also mass compiled the LV7.1 folder and my sourcecode. I still see the problem as I have set the LV adapter as Lv 7.1.1 runtime engine. Now I have changed it to LV7.1 development system. With this setting, it is not giving any error. Thus I don’t see any problem now. The older version of the code had the adapter as the runtime engine for some reason, now I have changed the setting to the development system. I hope that it shouldn’t be a problem.
    Thanks again!
    Thank you,
    Sasi

  • -18002 error after Labview 7.1.1 upgrade

    Hi All,
It seems like LV 7.1.1 upgrade is very dangerous when you use with Teststand. The existing system runs fine with LV 7.0 and TS 3.1. Now we have upgraded to LV 7.1.1. The LabVIEW adapter was set as LV 7.0 runtime engine previously. Now I could see only LV 7.0 and LV 7.1 even after I upgraded to LV 7.1.1. I have mass compiled my source code folder and also LV 7.1 folder. But I couldn’t see LV 7.1.1 listed in the runtime engine adapter list.
I could see some support link which explains about the registry changes (copying LV 7.1 (runtime) key to LV 7.1.1 (runtime)).  After doing so, I could see LV 7.1.1 in the adapter list. But then it is of No use. As even if I select the LV 7.1.1 runtime engine as my adapter, it changes back to LV 7.1 run time engine (when I check the adapter option again). It gives error when we run with LV 7.1 runtime engine.
I have attached the sample error message!
    Thank you,
    Sasi

  • Netflix Silverlight 2103 error after Firefox 3.6.15 upgrade, but IE remains fine, reinstall of Silverlight made no difference

Within the last week, Firefox automatically upgraded itself to v. 3.6.15. Netflix started reporting a Silverlight 2103 error. I followed the Netflix instructions to uninstall Silverlight, then let Netflix reinstall Silverlight, which it did according to the Netflix instructions. MSIE continues to be able to play Netflix instant-view movies, even after the uninstall/reinstall of Silverlight.
Did something break as of 3.6.15?
Netflix reports that this particular combo is not a known issue and they have opened a case based on my report. I wonder if other users are silently switching to a different browser without reporting it...?
Thanks for any ideas or solutions.

The Netflix supervisor I spoke to today finally confirmed that it is a known condition. But he said Netflix can't contact Mozilla, only Microsoft since Silverlight is Microsoft's product (even though it seems to be a Firefox change at issue, not Silverlight breakage).
The suggestion from Netflix is to switch to an earlier (and less secure) version of Firefox, or change browsers entirely to MSIE or Chrome. Please someone on the Firefox dev team check into this so Firefox doesn't lose market share to other browsers over this.

  • Crystal 8.5 Export to Excel 2003 Error after Excel SP3 install

    Post Author: tecboy
    CA Forum: Exporting
Just upgraded Office 2003 to SP3. When exporting a Crystal 8.5 report to Excel 2003..I now receive an error message...file error data may have been lost crystal...i click ok then the Excel spreadsheet opens. all the data appears to be there. I have tried switching between extented and not and also tried switching between application and disk file...same results...SP3 for Office changed something...Just trying to determine what i need to correct to make this error go away...

Yes and no.....I replaced the export dll for Excel with a newer one...the newer dll removed the error message but the layout of the exported crystal reports was screwed up...so i went back to older version. I think it may have something to do with the default speadsheet or tab name that Crystal Reports creates that SP3 for Excel doesnt like...If i recall...i ran into something similar when i was on Crystal 7 and upgrade to Office 2003....

  • WCF Service hosted in Azure Cloud Service errors after published

I have a project with several WCF services (mix of REST and SOAP).  The project has been running On-Prem for 6 months without an issue.  We are moving this to Azure but have run into an issue that will prevent us from going live.
The project uses Autofac for it's IOC.  We are gonig to host this in a Cloud Service in Azure.  Everything appears to work correctly when running locally in the Azure Emulator however once we deploy using the Cloud Service project, everything builds
and deploys correctly, but we receive the following error when trying to access a service.
    Server Error in '/' Application.
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: key
    Description:
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the
code. Exception Details: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: key
    Source Error:

       System.ServiceModel.Activation.AspNetRouteServiceHttpHandler.EndProcessRequest(IAsyncResult result) +107
       System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.OnAsyncHandlerCompletion(IAsyncResult ar) +151
It appears that it's having an issue with the service configuration endpoint.  That is registered through Autofac WCF integration using the OOTB RouteTable here:
    RouteTable.Routes.Add(new ServiceRoute("Event/Calendar", new AutofacWebServiceHostFactory(), typeof(CalendarSvc)));
All of this works fine in IIS and the local Azure emulator, but once deployed to the cloud service is where we get an issue.

I don't know Autofac. What is it doing? If you use a normal WCF REST service, or ASP.NET Web API, do you see the same issue? If it does work, you may want to post a question on Autofac's forum:
    https://github.com/autofac/Autofac/issues.

  • DBus service error after a fresh install

    Hi!
I have a freshly installed Archlinux system. The dbus-org service seems to be reporting an error and I am not sure
    $ systemctl status dbus-org
    dbus-org.service
Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
    Active: inactive (dead)
I am not seeing any side effects to this though. DBus has to be working since systemd is using it. I am also running Gnome 3 which also needs DBus to run.
Still, I'm curious if anybody has seen this and could help investigating the source of this error message.
    Thanks!

    murb wrote:
I think the service is called dbus. Try:
    $ systemctl status dbus
Wow ok. Dbus is working. I've been mislead in thinking dbus-org would be valid and though the "No such file or directory" error was coming out of dbus. It is actually systemctl telling me it can't find a file/service matching dbus-org.
    Thanks!
