i am unable to upgrade through BDT manager on my Mac to my Storm to the latest software as the following message comes up.
Validation failed because a module marked for add (net_rim_device_apps_games_brickbreaker) is not available on local disk.
please advise.
i am on device software version v4.7.0.78 (platform 4.0.0.98)

I have a Mac Book Pro and downloaded the latest software OS X. Now whenever I start my computer, I have to wait for Windows Mac to do its thing. I checked and the "open at login" option is not checked. How can I turn this feature off? It's driving me nuts!!
All fixed Barry. When I went to restart my computer, the question was right there. Do you want to open Windows when opening. NOPE!!

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:

I have been asked to set up an Icloud account by Apple.
How will having another icloud email benefit me. I have my work email which is all i require, but had to set up a @me account to get email on my Macbook.

My notes are duplicated, i have to delete my emails individually on all devices so whenever i put my phone on, all the emails i have deleted at work re-appear on my phone and again the same thing happens on my Macbook pro. I seem to spend all my time deleting emails 3 times.
Is there something simple in the set up of these that i am missing?

Our service just upgraded to 4g. Now my Mac computer will not join the network. It "sees" the network but will not "join"

That's not good! What happens when you attempt to make the connection? Do you receive an error message? What device is the computer making a connection to? Send details please.

I have Creative Suite 5, if I upgrade my mac from 10.6.8 os X to the latest software (I think there is an auto update to snowleopard) will this effect my adobe software?
Or what is involved if I pay for an upgrade?Deactivate the software and then reinstall it after the OSX update.

Thanks for any info, D.D.DThere is no way to intelligently answer your question (re: performance). Since you are running what is unsupported software (by Apple), I would seriously consider upating to the latest software.

Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

Hi, I would like to buy a power mac G4 quicksilver and install the latest hardware i.e. i5, SSD etc., is this possible?
Intel i5 processor upgrade? No way, no how with the OEM PPC board.
The "Latest" hardware that can be used with the original G4 motherboard is imited to used 7445/7447/7448 3rd party processor upgrades (all obsolete), PCI expansion, AGP graphics (only used as all are obsolete), new IDE drives (capacity support dependant on model year) and PC133 memory.
SATA and SSD can be used, but only with PCI SATA controllers or the specially configured IDE modded SSD from OWC.
PCI controllers will get you about SATA 1 data rates. The adapted SSD on IDE won't get beyond 60 MB/s.
You could use the case and put a mini ITX or micro ATX board in to support the i5. Of course you could then run Windows 7. If you want to run OS X, discussion ends here and begins your use of Google and searching for "x86" and "Hackintosh". -

I have updated my iPhone 3Gs to the latest software in an attempt to iron out a problem with a new telephone network provider (Tmobile). I had backed up my phone before I did this. Now I have lost my music and apps. I can't sync the phone with my Mac, I can't re-download from iTunes as the phone says I don't have any music or apps available to re-download although it all shows up on my Mac. The music and app content cannot be restored when I try to restore the phone from the back up I madeon my Mac. Help!
Working on that now. I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage. Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

Safari is not working on the Mac. Internet is fine. mail, App Store etc all working and connecting to Internet fine. Done the latest software update, still not working. When selecting a web address from bookmarks or typing in search bar, partial blue bar only and coloured wheel appears.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
If extensions aren't causing the problem, see below.

I have always been able to create playlists on itunes, then drag them to my ipod when it is plugged into the mac. I recently downloaded the latest version of itunes, and now am unable to do that. I can drag songs and albums to the ipod, but not my playlists. It used to be so easy, am I missing something here?
Plug your iPod into your computer, it will begin to sync. Now check to see if the playlists have been added.
If not, go to the songs tab under your iPod when it is connected to iTunes, Unless you have checked "Sync all songs (or something to those words)" you should have an option on what you can put on your iPod. Make sure to check the playlists that you want on your iPod.

Q re: Digitizing 4-track reels for use in FCPX
Hi I'm having 2 4-track reels from the 80s digitized. As part of the process they can reduce hiss and normalize. I told them to just do the hiss reduction. Should I have them do the normalization, too? I can if it seems wise tho can't FCPX do so also
