UPGRADE TO 10.8.1 says 10.8 is already installed.

The Upgrade to 10.8.1 is on the App Store.
If I click to daownload it I get a message that 10.8 is alredy installed and askt if I wish to go on and download it again.
OS is in Italian.
Suggestions ?

Why is Lion installed on external HDD and iMac says that Lion is already installed when it is not?

I went into the Apps store then logged in to confirm that I wish to pay for the Lion upgrade from Mac OSX v10.6.8.
The downloaded 3Gb installation file went into my Applications folder after a few hours:
This installation application is still in the Application folder of the iMac.
During the upgrade / installation, I got the following message, saying that the installation can't go in the HDD of the computer I was working on (ie. the iMac's Macintosh HD). I had no choice but to select the external HDD (WD-1T) as the installation destination, which proceeded very quickly.
When the installation was complete, the iMac rebooted into a fresh Lion installation, running off the WD-1T! I can see all my old files on the Macintosh HD, as if that HDD was the external HDD!
If I disconnect the WD-1T upon rebooting, I am back to Snow Leopard, running from the iMac's Macintosh HD. If I go the App store, it tells me I have already installed Lion on the iMac (when it is not the case)!
When I go to my MacBook Pro (currently on Snow Leopard and not part of from the above installation), I see that Lion is purchased but not installed. If I click INSTALL, it starts to download what the iMac had earlier downloaded (the Install Mac OS X Lion.app is still sitting in the Application folder of the iMac).
Question:
Can anyone shed some light why this happening and how to get Lion onto the iMac?

I would say it is related to the purchase date. FaceTime is included in 10.6.6~8 OEM discs.

1.4 Installer says 1.4 is already installed, but it was uninstalled

the 1.4 installer says that 1.4 is already installed, even though I uninstalled it. It then gives me an option to uninstall my non-existant 1.4, which obviously fails.
I tried looking into the registry, but couldn't find anything that stood out. Any hints how the installer determines that 1.4 is installed?

After reading a message from Installation Error with JRE1.4, it gives me an idea to resolve the problem here. I tried my theory and it works:
1. Run window registry editor from Start->Run, enter:
regedit
2. Delete the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft
if you have other java versions on your computer then just delete the keys associated with 1.4
3. find the Java 2 version 1.4 clsid key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{jave 2 clsid key} and then delete it. Since I have no idea what is the clsid key, so I open each folder in the Uninstall folder till I find the display name = Java 2 Runtime Environment....1.4. Write down the folder name which is the clsid key before you delete the file.
4. Then delete the following directory C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{clsid for java 2 v1.4 from step 2}
5. From Add/Remove Program, you'll see that Java 2... is removed.

Need to install for but mac says that firefox is already installed and I cannot find it.

I am trying to install TOR (had many moons ago and thought I closed it). It says that firefox is already running and I can't open it twice. Possibly I have firefox and possibly I don't. Can't install Muse CC - error says beta version is already installed?

I can't find the app anywhere on my computer but the error I'm getting during install in that a "beta version of this product exists on the computer. Please quit and uninstall that version before continuing"

If it isn't installed and if that is a Mac machine, use the Spotlight to search for anything Muse related and remove. Look into the Trash folder too to find any instances of the app.
Most likely you're trying to install Muse using the CC Application Manager and as Muse is an Air application, there are certain limitations in how we interact with the Application Manager that can cause these types of conflicted states. Refer to the following thread for more about this - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1253307.
Also include external drives in your search for an old version of Muse. You can attempt to install the app using the installer found here as well (another thread for reference <http://forums.adobe.com/message/5052701#5052701>):

Run the Cleaner tool to remove Ps CC :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html .
Restart your system and then try installing Ps again.

Still saying I need updates but when I update it says I have current versions already.
Also still keep getting plugin container for firefox has stopped working. But I'm not see a problem with anything.

Photoshop says its already installed even when its not.

I have installed all the other programs that I need however Photoshop for some reason is not installing. It says that it is already installed but when you go to applications it is not there. In the adobe download manager it shows as ligthened out as seen in the images below.

I recently installed adobe ps trial version , and next day I uninstalled it , after one weak I though again giving it a try , so I tried to Install it once again and
now i am facing problem , the setup says adobe ps is already installed and dnt let me install again ??
To completly uninstall ps , i have tried adobe cleaning script already and Revo uninstaller also , latter i deleted the whole ps folder in program files from my hard drive but the problem still persisit ??

Good comments on the differences between the trial and the full-paid, and well worth noting.
So a reformat of the hard drive has to be done if you want to re-install the trial.
This used to be a complete low-level reformat. Do not know if that's changed to just an OS Format. Going back years, we had a poster on the old forum, who, rather than buy the danged program, kept doing the low-level Format and reinstalling the trial. Even if his/her time was worth only $0.25/hour, they'd almost paid for the program.
One poster on the Premiere forum had gotten the trial from Adobe, Avid and Vegas, IIRC. They'd use each for 30 days on their Project, then low-level Format, and start over. Heck, the Vegas edition that they were doing the trial with was only about US$149.00!

It sounds like maybe 8.0.1 has downloaded onto your phone but not installed. You can check for it in Settings > General > Usage > Storage, Manage Storage. If it's there you should see it at the top of the list of apps. Swipe to delete it. 8.0.1 was pulled by Apple quickly after it was introduced due to issues and replaced by 8.0.2. Once it's deleted you should be able to download and install 8.0.2.

Click on the price to buy immediately (there is no 'basket') - the credit card you have registered with iTunes will be charged. Or click on the icon for an information page:
Again, click on the price to buy immediately - note that you get no 'are you sure', the purchase is immediate and not cancellable.

UPGRADE TO 10.8.1 says 10.8 is already installed.
