Upgrade to 11.1.4 for windows 7 lacks MSVCR80.DLL

I've tried to upload the new 11.1.4 for windows 7 64-bit, and the error mesage "can't find msvcr80.dll" appears. Restoring to an earlier windows 7 corrects it, so it must be the install that is faulty. Doers Apple have a fix for this? I don't want to do a $40/yr utility just to fix this error caused by the apple installation. Hekp apprecated. Thanks.

Solving MSVCR80 issue and Windows iTunes install issues.
If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"
I am running the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7.
This error occurs if I try to either update the app or if I delete it and attempt to redownload.
I have an iPhone and an iPad.  I am unable to update the apps or install the apps from within the App Store on iOS.
I do not have an AOL ID, as is a common issue with this type of error.
From what I can tell, my Apple ID account seems fine.  I logged in, changed some information, and ensured my credit card is valid and updated.
I can download new apps just fine.  I am unable to update or install apps I have purchased in the past.

After 30 minutes this morning, no resolution. Then another tech support call this afternoon, 15 minutes in, was escalated to a Tier 2 (Senior) advisor. He said something similar to the above ("this is one of the strangest things I've seen"). He was chatted with iTunes guys and took all my info into the case and was escalating it over to engineering. Said they would be in touch.
    So, no solution...yet.
    Just to clarify:
iTunes on Windows7: trying to update an existing app, or re-download a prior app, gives the (11111) error. Downloading a new (free) app worked fine.
App Store on iPhone5, iOS 6.0.1: click on UPDATE, switches to INSTALLING...for a second, then switches back to UPDATE. No error message (and nothing in Diagnostic data).
App Store on iPad 3, iOS 6.0.1: same as iPhone 5.
    Definitely account related.
I have cleared the store cache, signed out and back in, deleted the credit card data, and re-added, rebooting PC and iPhone...nothing works.
Will post if I hear anything back from Apple.

  • HT1926 I keep getting the following message after attempting to download and install the latest update for iTunes: missing MSVCR80.dll.  error 7 (windows error 126)

I keep getting the following message after attempting to download and install the latest update for iTunes: missing MSVCR80.dll.  error 7 (windows error 126). Anyone else having this issue? How do I get iTunes back in working order?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • Qucktime Pro for Windows lacks same features as Mac Version!?

I am very dissatified to learn (after purchasing) that QT Pro for windows does NOT have a Video Capture Feature.
The reps at Apple tech support all told me the program was exactly the same as the Mac version. So I purchased it only to discover no Video Capture option, only Audio.
I am writing on this forum:
    A) to let others know that this is not a bug,
    B) to let Apple become aware so that their own employees understand their products better.
    C) to help Apple realize that they need to change their website (as it just glosses over this issue with vague feature descriptions on the windows version of the QT Pro site and also in hopes that Apple will change its decisions to disable Windows versions in order to allow their Apple version to be slightly better for marketing reasons... there can be no reason why simple Video Capture (at least thru DV) shouldnt be in the software on the Win version and
    D) to ask if anyone knows of any 3rd party plugins that will allow for Video Capture thru QT Pro.
(so far my 2 previous posts were deleted... so I dont expect too much here, but I am trying to be constructive with my criticism. Apple please help!?)
(copying this message to tech support and Apple product management in case it is deleted, they will be also notified of that)
thanks for any help, I'm sorry it has come to this...
    Anyone know of a plugin?

thanks for finally answering. Even if you deleted the previous post, you could have emailed me about the issue. Instead it just disappeared.
I'm not an Apple employee. We're all just your fellow users here. I just know a complaint post when I see one.
So Why does the windows version "lack the support architecture
Only the QuickTime project engineers could answer that.
in the Mac version, it does say Video and Audio capture, and on the Win version, it says "Video and Audio Creation features" and it also lists Audio Capture... But dont you think it shoudl list somewhere "VIDEO CAPTURE FEATURE ala the Mac version is NOT INCLUDED". Why be vague about it?
It's not vague to me. If a feature isn't listed, I don't presume that it exists. But again, if you want to comment on this to Apple, use the Feedback page I gave in my previous post.
even tho you say there is no way a plugin would work, I did find a Java based plugin that is supposed to work... havent installed it yet.
I presume you're referring to QuickTime Capture. That's not a true QuickTime plugin, it's an applet, but we'd be getting into semantics, so I won't belabor the point. If that is indeed the Java applet you're referring to, it seems to be a frame-by-frame grabber, not a true video importer, so I'm not sure it's going to work for you. But of course there's no harm in trying it; it might do the job for you. If not, there are a lot of Windows video import utilities available (including the free Microsoft Movie Maker).

  • Installing & Upgrading iTunes 8.1.1 for Windows

When installing the new iTunes I get an error that states "Invalid Drive: s:\"
My PC does dont have nor has it ever had a s drive. I have tried to upgrade through iTunes and directly from the web site.
I am hesitant to uninstall the current version and start from scratch for obvious reasons.
Any ideas on what the problem is other than I am using a PC with Windows?

I'm having my own problems with 8.1.1 but at least I can think of places to look regarding yours.
Is it possible your iPod/iPhone/iWhatever becomes drive S: when attached? (No idea why it would need to be attached while installing.
Did you have a drive S: (e.g. a thumb drive, a USB drive) attached when you last installed?
You can use Drive Manager (right-click My Computer and select Manage) to see what drive letter your iWhatever uses when connected.

  • Unable to upgrade to itunes 10.7 for Windows (64-bit)

I just got two Iphones 4s.  I need to upgrade my computer to itunes 10.7, but everytime I try I get this error message.
What am I doing wrong?  And what needs to be done to correct this problem.
    I am using Windows Vista.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Safari 5.1.7 for windows wont work DLL error

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing etc... nothing clears the errors
Keeps getting error "Safari.exe - Entry Point Not Found"
" The procedure entry point _CFXPreferencesRegisterDefaultValues could not be located in the DLL CoreFoundations.DLL"
    or
'the procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.'
    or
"WebKit2WebProcess.exe - System error:  program cannot start because QTCF.dll is missing from your computer".
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing etc... nothing clears the errors
When I look in the Programs Safari folder it seems all the DLL's have a2012 date except for CoreFoundations.DLL and 5 others that stayed 2009 date - it seems the install/re-install is not replacing these DLL's properly and/or not updating the registery ?
Does apple provide any tech support at all ?
It seems this is a programming bug.  The install scripot doesnt replace older versions of core DLL's -
I've seen several other posts here related  - same problems I had prior to 5.1.7 - but no solutions posted.
    Does Apple read these ?
'the procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.'
"WebKit2WebProcess.exe - System error:  program cannot start because QTCF.dll is missing from your computer".
    Thanks

No ...   reformat the hard disk then reinstall Windows.
When you're done, check for software updates.
I've been through the same DLL error issue. Much easier to reformat.

  • Patch for Macromedia Director 6.0 Upgrade for Windows - DOES ANYBODY STILL HAVE IT?

Hello, I am a collector of 1990's multimedia who likes seeking out older, pre-Adobe versions of Director. I have the upgrade version of Director 6.0 for Windows, and it's unfortunately part of an early batch that comes with a corrupted copy of the Projec32.skl stub projector file, rendering 32-bit projectors made with the upgrade version of Director 6 for Windows unusable (only 16-bit projectors will work).
Macromedia released a patch on their old website to address this issue shortly after the release of Director 6 back in 1997, but I can't find it anywhere on the Internet these days. Does anyone still have this patch, and if so, can you share it with me? (FYI, the filename for the patch is "D6wpatch.exe") Or, alternatively, if any of you still have the full, non-upgrade version of Director 6 for Windows, can you share the Projec32.skl with me? (it can be found in Director's installation directory, normally "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Director 6")
Thanks if you can provide any help,
    Ryan
(EDIT 10/26/2012: addendum about alternative sharing method was added to the above text, since Director 6 and prior versions are getting harder and harder to find on eBay these days)
UPDATE 11/23/2012: I finally found the solution... after calling Adobe tech support to no avail (they searched, but didn't find it - they said that all the old Macromedia files got lost after they purchased Macromedia a few years back), I managed to solve the problem myself! I manually extracted the projector stub code from a working 32-bit Director 6 projector executable in a hex editor, and saved that code as a separate projec32.skl file. I replaced the corrupted projector stub, and I proceeded to make a 32-bit projector with a small test movie I made. And guess what - it worked! Thanks, everyone, for viewing this post. I hope that helps!

After countless hours of reading I finally discovered what the problem was. I did not read thoroughly through the support documentation which allows a person to update their IPOD video very easily simply follow the directions "and I mean the entire directions" within the following link. I would also strongly suggets following the area which state to d/l Quicktime separately from Itunes. This completely rveresed my problems, and now I have a great functioning IPOD once more.

  • Quick Time Pro for Windows

I’ve got a digital camera which uses Quick Time (for Windows) to play back ‘movies’ I’ve recorded on it.
If I upgrade to Quick Time Pro for Windows will I be able to convert and export the Quick Time files to a format that my DVD players can recognize and play? If so, what is this format?
      Windows XP

will I be able to convert and export the Quick Time files to a format that my DVD players can recognize and play?
Sorry but no. DVD players require movies to be in MPEG-2, which QuickTime on Windows cannot export. You'll need to find a Windows-based video DVD creation application to be able to create disks a DVD player can handle. I can't make any recommendations, but perhaps someone else here can, or you can search the web for something like "Windows video DVD create".
