Upgrade to 7.1.2 dropped some purchased app icons

the apps are still showing as "purchased" in iTunes and I can launch them from he App Store but the icons are gone from the tablet screens. Any ideas?

Swipe from screen to screen to look for them.
Use the Spotlight Search to try to find them.
http://ipadinsight.com/ipad-tips-tricks/how-to-get-to-spotlight-search-in-ios-7/
if you you still don't see them - try a reset.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

On my ipad, some of my purchased apps icons are missing. The app store indicates that the apps were purchased so i cannot install them again.  How do I get the icons back?

    - Are the apps missing or are the icons white?
    - If missing have yu tried using the Spotlight search and trying to find them?
    - Have you tried downloading them on your iPad and then syncing?
    - Have you tried deleting them on the computer and then syncing?  That might also delete them from the iPad so you can redownal them
    - Have you tried reetting the iPad?
Reset iPad:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT202159 Mountain Lion upgrade download stopped, now it states in purchased apps that 'an error has occured' and resume button is blank & will not work

Mountain Lion upgrade download stopped, now it states in purchased apps that 'an error has occured' and resume button is blank & will not work. Tried to re download, but it states code has already been used

    Danielle...
From the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
If that doesn't help, disable anti virus software and turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband (high speed internet) access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • Some mac app icons disappears and mac App Store didn't open

some mac app icons disappears and mac appstore cant open

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • I have upgraded to OS7.1, all my recently purchased apps are no longer there. Why is this ?

I recently bought a bunch of music apps. I jet updated to OS 7.12. They are available to re download from the app store, but not on the main iPad desktop as before.
Is there a way to stop this happening again?
    Thanks

For some reason, it would appear that the device did a restore as part of the upgrade, and the backup it restored from was not up to date. How much free space did you have when you upgraded?
If upgrading Over The Air, make sure you have backed up the device explicitly onto the iCloud before commencing.
Or better, do all future upgrades using iTunes on a computer, and setting the backup to be stored locally. iTunes will always do a backup before munging with an iGadget's guts, and storing it locally speeds up the process immensely, both then doing the back up as well as when restoring (if needed).

  • I have changed the user-id e-mail address. Bought a new MacBookPro, updated my Appleid and some purchased apps do not appear.

I have changed my AppleId's e-mail address and thus the Appleid user name. I bought a new MacBookPro and updated my Appleid info. The problem is that it does not list all the Apps bought. I have only one iphone connected to it. My daughter has an ipad and had purchased a lot of apps using the old user-id. She had the ipad linked to another computer. However, the ipad does not switch on and from Apple Support they told me that it would be better if I restore it using a Mac. So my question is: if I restore it using the Mac, how would all these apps be synced since they do not appear on my iTunes on the Mac? Shouldn't all the apps appear since I have bought them?
    I would appreciate a reply.
    Kind Regards,
    Dimitra

I have the same issue. The new address is fine when I use iTunes and on my iCloud account, but my iPhone has my old e-mail address and when I try to change it won't accept my new or old password to be able to do so.

  • HT1338 Some Purchased Apps not showing as installed

I have apps loaded on my MBP and some don't show as installed when I log in to App Store and check for updates.
Current Aperture version is 3.2 and when I apply an update is says i need 3.0 for the update.  Aperture is one of the Apps showing as not installed.
    Any suggestions?

Hope these screenshots explain it better.
Most of the apps with 'install' next to them in the second pic have already been installed

  • HT4859 some purchased apps have not backed up, what to do?

I backed up in iCloud and  reset iPad, and then restored from iCloud but three apps, bought from iStore did not restore.  what can I do?

iCloud will only restore apps currently in the app store.  If these missing apps are no longer in the app store, you will have to sync them to your iPad from your iTunes library.  If the apps aren't in your iTunes library (or in the App store), there is no way to get them back.

  • Purchased Apps Icon Crossed Out

I recently had to restore Mountain Lion OS from the recovery partition.
Now some of the apps that I purchased from the App store, such as Aperture, have a crossed out icon. When I go to the App Store application and select "Purchases" it shows Aperture as installed yet I can not launch Aperture. The icon for the Aperture app is crossed out. The App store will not let me reinstall it.
I used the Disk Utility to repair permissions but the icon is still crossed out and the app does not launch.
Some other programs such as iMovie and Garageband also had their icons crossed out but I was able to reinstall them through the App Store.
How can I get Aperture back?

That means that you have Aperture on the hard drive. If you have an external drive connected, disconnect it. Then, check where Aperture could be. To do it, press Command and Space keys, and type "Aperture" in the Spotlight popup, so it will search Aperture on the hard disk. If it finds the the folder, hold Option and Command keys, so the location will show up below the preview. Just go to that folder and delete Aperture.
Finally, open App Store > Purchases and install Aperture

  • I downloaded an app.  then upgraded my new 4s to IOS7, and the app icon disappeared, the onlly way to access the app is to go to the app icon and search for it, and then open, I cannot find the app icon, but the provider says it is stored somewhere ?

How or where do I find the app in the iphone, the provider says it is stored somewhere?

More than likely it is on an altenate home screen (swipe to the left to navigate), or in a folder. When you did the spotlight search, did it indicate as folder?

  • How to hide some Apple app icons?

Just got an Apple Sports Watch for my wife.
The tiny icons are hard for her to see and tap accurately. She has no interest in about half of the Apple provided apps, (such as Stocks, Weather, Mail, Passbook) and wants to not show them. This would leave the display less cluttered, and leave room for the custom apps she wants.
How can we do this? I cannot find this in the manual. Surely Apple won't force us to show icons for apps we don't want or use. It's not the Apple way.

    Good point, Meg.
The funny part is that there is a simple  toggle switch preference in Apple Watch iPhone app that allows you (for any custom app) to 'show on Watch' or not.
If Apple just enabled that for the Apple apps, that problem would be solved without having to delete them. Very easy software tweak.
Actually, I think the bigger problem is that the Watch UI does not have a well-designed system for having/using a large number of Watch apps. Imagine having 20 of our apps plus the 15 Apple ones. How in the world could you find them? This occurred on the iPhone several years ago, and finally Apple devised the multipage home screen plus folders. Did they forget about that?
If they want us to develop lots of apps for the Watch, there must be a practical way for the users to use them, or the market will be very small.

  • Sci-15c purchased app survived the upgrade to ios 6.1.2 on ipad3 and iphone 4s, but missing on ipad mini.  App store doesn't show app and it doesn't appear on my purchases.  Whats the point of icloud and the app store?  Help please.

Why is the excellent hp-15c emulator, sci-15c, which I purchased years ago, missing from my ios upgraded ipad and not shown in my purchased apps nor in the store?
The app did get properly reatored to my other ipad 2 and 3 and iphone 4s
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Check iTunes on the computer you normally sync with. The app might still be there and you could sync it back onto your iPad mini. Then see if it still works on the most recent iPads.

  • Search purchased apps not installed on my phone through app store update tab

Before my upgrade to iOS 6 I could search purchased apps that are not installed on my phone through the update section. The new App Store doesn't seem to have this function. Am I just missing it? I don't want to have to buy apps I already have and it's a pain to have to scroll through them all to try to find one I'm looking for.

The solution is to purchase a phone from a region where FaceTime is NOT banned. There is no way to have FaceTime on the phone you now have.
