Upgrade to 7.7.1 Fails

I've reviwed several related items but haven't seen my specific issue posted. I'm currently runing 7.2 and have downloaded the the 7.7.1 upgrade (about 2MB in size).
After agreeing to terms the upgrade install starts and then stops due to an "Invalid Signature". This is a windows security issue but wondering if there is a way aroudn without having to try and running the full 7.7 installer.

The 7.7.1 installer should be 62 MB so if yours is only 2MB it has been truncated.
Did you try to upgrade via iTunes or did you download the installer from the apple site?
If the former, I suggest you download it from here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save it to your desktop rather than running it from your browser.
If that's what you did, try turning off popup blocking.
If you can't get it to work, you can download the installer from FileHippo

  • Upgrade to iOS 5.1 == FAIL

I just updated my iPhone 4 from 5.0 to 5.1 and I am not a happy camper.  The upgrade process appeared to hang for over 5 minutes without any indication of progress being made either on the phone or in iTunes.  I ended up ejecting the phone and plugging it in again.  The phone restarted and was missing 70% of my apps.  It also didn't restore any of my passwords even though I was using an encrypted iPhone backup on my laptop so I wouldn't have to enter my passwords again.  Apple, this experience has totally sucked and sadly it could not come at a worse time as I'm at the hospital dealing with a family situation (yeah, I was an idiot to think this upgrade would actually be a trouble free experiece).  Y'all need to get serious about testing your software and maybe take a break from foisting more, unstable features on your customers (things no longer "just work" as people used to say about Apple products).

Like I said, I waited at least 5 minutes looking for any sign that either iTunes or the phone was actually updating.  There was none.  This is poor software design/implementation, leaving the user to guess as to whether the update is actually occuring or it has hung and failed.
Note, this is more to the story like the fact I downloaded the update successfully before I told iTunes to go ahead and update the phone.  I waited patiently as the upgrade appeared to be transfered to the phone. Then I saw some error message saying iTunes didn't have the password to my backup although I don't reacall seeing it ask me for it.  During all this my phone rebooted several times.  Finally iTunes appeared to have stopped updating the phone and the phone's display remained black and I waited for it to do anything for at least 5 minutes.  I ran Activity Monitor which showed iTunes to be completely idle during that time.  I've gone through several iPhone updates so I have some expectation of what is normal and what isn't.

  • Post Upgrade to R2: Task Sequence Fails with 0x80070057

one SCCM 2012 server for a while now (June/July of 2013) and have had no issues with OSD's and software deployments.  Today I decided to upgrade to R2 from CU3 and I thought the upgrade process went really well.  But after the upgrade
I attempted to perform an OSD & it failed with error 0x80070057 before the Task Sequence selection.
I had that problem ages ago when I first started using SCCM, but that was due to a missing boundary group.  I got that straightened out in June/July of 2013 and, OSD's & software deployments have been working fine since.
All the boundary groups are still defined
All the boundaries are still defined
The specific boundary this machine is in has a site system defined
The specific boundary group this machine is in has both an assigned site as well as a site system server defined

  • Trying to install upgrade of PSE 13,  Installer failed to initialize. :-/

I'm trying to install the upgrade after purchasing it for the Photoshop Elements 13. I get the 7z icon, open it go to PSE13 then SEt up and run it.  Then I get a message saying "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. " Then I'm directed to a troubleshooting page that really has me going around in circles... What do I do??
Should I uninstall the version I currently have and try installing PSE 13 using the key code??
I've been trying to set this up for about 2 hours now and feel like I'm just going around in circles.  Please help.

Angela_castro_p I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine why the installer is failing to initialize.  Most likely you will want to review the PDApp.log in this situation as it should contain the error preventing initialization.  For information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files please see Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Access Manager Upgrade from 2005Q1 to 2005Q4 Failed Miserably

I really could use some help. I tried to upgrade our calendar server from 2005Q1 to 2005Q4 last week. Everything was going fine (calendar and webserver upgraded ok) until I upgraded the Access Manager piece. Now, Access Manager isn't running correctly. When I start the webserver container, it starts, but some parts of Access Manager (amserver) fails. I cannot get into the AMConsole web interface. Users cannot authenticate to their calendars through AM (we've got them working through an older method for now).
We've uninstalled/reinstalled AM several times. Run the amconfig tool to undeploy and redeploy. Rerun the amupgrade tool to redeploy the directory server objects...
We've opened a ticket with Sun but so far it hasn't been much help.
I'd just like to at least get AM to start so I can at least get into AMConsole...can anyone help?
Here's the error the webserver gives off when it starts....

    Thanks for any help...
    Matt

Sorry, I have no idea otherwise.
In our case, where we had the same exceptions, we could resolve the issue with reindexing the directory.
Most probably this has to do with the services
    ldapsearch -b ou=services,o=root -D "cn=puser,ou=DSAME Users,o=root" -w password "(objectClass=sunService)" dn | wc -l
In my case I get 164 lines.
puser should be able to find all services. If not, you have probably have an ACI or index issue. If you get no services and get with the same search and Directory Manager as user 220 (in my case) entries, it is ACI.
If DM does not get any entries either, there is probably something wrong with indexes.
Ok, now lets assume you get the services. Another possible issue might be that your server is not in the "iplanet-am-platform-server-list"
Look into iPlanetAMPlatformService and check if the server you entered in AMConfig.properties(protocoll + "://" + host + ":" + port) is in the list.

  • Upgrade to ECC 6.0 fails - cannot read SVERS

I recently migrated a 4.7 system to new hardware and in the process upgraded from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005.
Now I'm doing an upgrade and the upgrade fails - it is unable to find table SVERS.
When I log in to SQL Ent Mgr as <sid>adm and I run a query against my database, the following query does not work:
    select * from SVERS
    but
select * from sid.SVERS     does work
This means that somehow sidadm is not connecting correctly.  I've verified the connection setting and the sid database is the default db for this user.
    Any ideas?

    more info ...
environment variables are correctly I beleive:

  • Itunes 9 Upgrade. Installs OK, but fails to run with 'Unknown Error(-50)'

Been running Itunes versions 7/8 very happily. Upgraded to 9.0 today. After installing, which reported no problems, Itunes failed to run, reporting a missing reference in CoreFoundation.dll. I tried a re-install, but with no improvement. I the un-installed Itunes, re-imported the Itunes 9 setup file (88Mbytes), re-installed the product, and still it does not run, reporting a -50 Unknown Error.
Not exactly impressive! I'd be grateful for any ideas, including how to revert to version 8. Thanks, ju

Thanks for the pointer to the KB article. Error 1 is missing from the list provided by iTunes (more information), but I was afraid it means hardware. Will try on another computer, but I'm afraid the phone is sick.
    Thanks,
    Manfred

  • Upgrade to OS X Mavericks failed and can't reinstall OS X 10.7.5

I recently tried to upgrade to Mavericks but failed. I restored the HDD using timemachine but not 100% restored. My desktop lost, the driver for my RAID controller corrupted. I can't access the console of my ARECA 1221 raid controller. The problem couldn't be resolved by re-install or upgrade the controller driver.
I entered the recovery mode but it only allow me to re-install Mavericks, I tried more than ten time including install Mavericks in a new HDD, all ended with disk failure error.
How can I re-install Mountain Lion through internet?
    Please help

The only ways I can think of to reinstall OS X Mountain Lion or Lion besides a backup or clone are:
    1. Use a USB thumb drive installer made from OS X Mountain Lion or Lion.
    2. If your Mac came pre-installed with OS X Mountain Lion or Lion, you can restart into Internet Recovery using the Command+Option+R keys until you see a spinning globe. Or if your Mac received a firmware update to provide Internet Recovery you could still use the 3 keys.
    3. If your Mac came pre-installed with a version of OS X prior to 10.7, you would need to reinstall that OS and bring it up to 10.6.8 in order to use the App Store to download OS X Mountain Lion or Lion.

  • IOS upgrade 5.0.1 iPad failed at Enter the password to unlock backup

I upgraded iTunes on my MacBook (Leopard), then attempted to upgrade iOS on my iPad2 from the original iOS it came with (4.x). Everything seemed to go fine until it was attempting to put itself back together from the backup taken just before the upgrade. I haven't been able to give it the right password.
I believe I had set backups to be encrypted. But people who didn't also seem to have trouble with this. I've tried lots of possible passwords (for the account on the MacBook I was using, the admin account on it, current appleid, old appleid, 4 digit numbers that I use for accounts that require 4-digit numbers, a few items from keychain), to no avail.
Need help with three questions (at least!)
    1. I am confused about what password would be used to unlock the encrypted files (is this a separate password? I no longer remember how it was set up, although I did it last spring). Some folks on forum suggested that the correct password might fail in this process, but changing the password might get it to  work. But I don't know which password or how. I usually record passwords in Data Vault, but don't have anything in there separately for iTunes or the iPad backup. Need to know whether I need to tear the house apart looking for a possible scrap of paper.
    2. If I manage to find the right password, how do I get to the right backup? I had to cancel out of the form that was asking for the password in order to try anything else. Now when I try to restore from backup, the backup showing is not the right one (it is earlier). As a last resort I may have to try restoring from that one (assuming I can solve the password problem.)
    3. I had synced all my applications and contacts before starting this. Can I get back most of my stuff from that? I didn't not have music, movies or many photos. Did have a few kindle and nook books.
I'm finding the whole process of managing the iPad with iTunes very confusing. Thanks in advance for any help.

This is what I would do.
    1. Settings > General > Reset.> Erase All Content and Settings
    2. Build the IPad 2 from Fresh and then Upgrade to Newest IOS.
    3. Restore Application's Manually > App Store > One by One
    4. Restore Contacts : If you use Gmail : Its Easy : through Itunes
Once All the Apps and Contacts are Synced : Would do a Backup.
    5. Encrypt and Add a New Password.
    6. Backup Again : So that you have 2 separate Restore Points.
Good luck, let me know if this helps.

  • Upgrades to 10.4.10 failing

I've upgraded my iBook G4 to 10.4.10 with no problems.
However I've been having all sorts of trouble upgrading my G5 from 10.4.3. I get to the point where it is to decide where I'll install it and it shows all the discs with a red exclamation mark - in other words as invalid destinations. I've got over three gigabytes on all the discs, so it isn't a problem with disc space. I've also fixed all the permissions and verified the discs.
    Any suggestions??

Just to be clear about what you have done, do you now
have 13Gb of free disk space on your startup volume
(which I assume from your image URL is the one named
    "Macintosh HD")?
    Yes.
Is this volume currently running 10.4.3 or some other
    version of the OS?
Yes. It was 10.4.6, but I put 10.4.3 back hoping that it would help.
Do all the versions you have tried have the letters
"PPC" somewhere in the file name? (Example:
    "MacOSXUpd10.4.9PPC.pkg") If not, they are
probably for Intel Macs & your G5 Mac won't meet the
    requirements.
    Yes, they're all PPC.
Do all the versions you have tried (except possibly
10.4.4) have the word "combo" somewhere in their
    name? (Example:
    "MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.10PPC.pkg") If not, they
probably are delta versions that require application
in order, like 10.4.4, then 10.4.5, etc.
Ah, no, that might be it. I didn't know what they meant by 'combo' - wasn't it the name of a detective series in the '70s? That's probably it. I'll download a 10.4.10 combo thing.
When in doubt, either use Software Update to see what
it tells you what updates are suitable for the
current OS version you are booted from, or carefully
check the system requirements listed on the download
page for any you download manually.
I started using software update, but it failed after downloading everything. I think this 'combo' thing is the problem. I can't see why a better error message wasn't possible.
One other thought: have you ever manually changed the
contents of the /Library/Receipts folder on the
    startup drive in any way?
Nope. I'm not sure why I'd want to!

  • Upgrade to 3.4.2 failed

Just moments ago attempted to update from 3.2.2 to just-released 3.4.2. Aperture Library failed during one of the later of the 12 upgrade steps it needed to go through. Now, Aperture fails on launch. Have restarted, no love.  Aperture attempts to repair the library when re-launched, but it crashes before completing.
