Upgrade to Belle FP2

I am one of those poor souls with a Nokia 700 stuck on v111.030.0609. O2 (in the UK, from whom I got the phone) and Nokia both inform me that this is the most recent version of the software for my phone. Neither the phone's software update tool (I've tried both the direct app and via the options menu on the Device Manager screen) nor Nokia Suite indicate any different.
If anyone else with a UK Nokia 700 from O2 can confirm whether we ever received FP1, it would be appreciated.
Can anyone tell me whether, if my phone upgrades directly to v113, will the improvements in FP1 (v112) be included?
Also, I had to do a hard reset and have lost certain apps- photo editor, video editor, etc. Will these be restored when I upgrade the software?

If the Feature Pack 2 update isn't showing up for you yet, this may be due to two reasons. The first is that your phone is branded (e.g. Vodafone, and has custom apps and wallpapers), and it is up to your carrier to either release the update to you provided by them to Nokia or not. The second is your phone being a country variant, in which Nokia releases the generic firmware to your country's Nokia, and it is up to your country to add custom country requirements or apps. If your phone is branded, I suggest contacting your carrier and ask them about the availability and schedule for the FP2 update. The same applies if your phone appears to be a country variant; contact your local Nokia Care point and ask them.
And yes, those apps will be restored when you upgrade your software, and all the improvements in FP1 will be included in FP2, you don't need to update from Belle to FP1, then FP2, just straight from Belle to FP2.

Please do check ur email account setup app once again. It will be there. Or create a email widget on home screen and then try to setup . Hope this will help you.

Issue with belle fp2

i upgraded my 701 to symbian belle fp2. now i can't find facility to send multiple pics from gallery. moreover the videoediting is bad. i can only trim it. so as photo editing. in the former version i can use many options in video editing. now i can't. so, is there any possibility of another upgrade to fp2?

Whilst it may be technically feasible to recover these applications it is beyond remit of this forum to advise upon how to implement this procedure, but can co-exist with latest version upon Belle FP2:

Hi! There used to be a re-install option in Nokia Suite... How to re-install on Nokia 808 PureView to refresh Symbian Belle FP2 1508 on Nokia PC Suite or Nokia Suite without reformatting? Just an in-place re-install will do, thanks!

If the machine was preloaded with Windows 8 and you upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the Microsoft Store then I can verify that you should be able to restore from Windows 8 by doing a Windows 8 Refresh. Check this guide to see what settings will be preserve and which settings will not be preserved.
Update to Windows 8.1: FAQ:
"If your PC came with Windows 8 you might be able to restore it back to Windows 8 by refreshing your PC."

Belle FP2 conversations

hello, I bought Nokia 603 a few days ago and immediately upgraded it to Belle FP2. From that time I have got a problen with message conversations: when I send a message to someone, it is shown in one conversation, but when the person replies, it shows in another and I can´t reply it. I must go to the conversation where sent messages to the person are and reply from there. Why aren´t all messages with one person in one conversation? My previous phone wan Nokia 500 Belle Refresh and there wasn´t such a problem...

You can try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Reboot your phone. Switch off the phone, and remove the battery. After about a
minute, replace the battery, and switch on the phone.
2. Soft reset the phone:
Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone Management>Factory Settings>Restore. The default code is 12345. This process will not delete any of your personal data on the phone.
3. Check if there is an update available. If none, you can reinstall the software using the Nokia Suite.
4. Reformat the phone:
Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone Management>Factory Settings>Delete data and restore. The default code is 12345. This will wipe all your data, so make sure to create a backup file first using Nokia Suite.

808 Belle FP2 still messes up my WiFi connections

I just installed Belle FP2 on my 808 PureView to see if any of the FP1's wireless bugs were fixed. But so far it doesn't look too good.
If I create a custom internet target for my job needs and put some WiFi access points there, the phone still makes duplicate copies of them to Internet target upon connect.
Why?

I haven't tried to manually disable mobile data because it makes no sense for me. It's nice to have that option, but my current multiple network targets setup is (or would be!) much better solution because it works automatically. My phone is locked with the security code all the time, so if I were to use this manual mobile data toggle, I would need to unlock the phone with my 10-or-so digit security code and toggle mobile data on or off every time I come or leave my house. That would be very annoying. Before upgrading to 808 and Belle I didn't had to do anything and the phone handled all the network changes automatically and seamlessly. I admit that this is somewhat advanced user case, but I'm an advanced user and now I feel quite disappointed and cheated because of all these lost features.
That being said, I have now set up my network targets as I need them to be. On the first connect, phone made duplicates of all my WiFi access points from the custom network target to the Internet target, but as long as they they move to that direction only and not the other way around, the automatic network selection should work. At least I hope so.

808 Belle FP2 gallery missing features

Nokia 808 Belle FP2's gallery is still crippled. There is no way to organize photos into folders or tag them in any useful manner. And there no possibility to select multiple items for sharing etc. Gallery cannot zoom images that are downloaded to the phone from other sources no matter how big these images are.
None of these limitations were present in Symbian Anna, so this is a major drawback and downgrade in terms of features even this 808 shoud be Nokias's current flag ship phone on photography domain.

I Updated my Nokia 603 to FP2.
New Camera UI, music Player and details tab in gallery are very appreciated.
Also, several new widgets and performance improvements are satisfactory.
Problems I encountered are,
1) I can't send several photos from gallery by marking them, and don't see the option to sort by ascending or descending dates.
2) Also, Message Editor takes 3-4 sec. to rotate when keyboard is raised.
3) Contacts are scrambled, not sorted Alphabeticaly. They keep changing everytime.
4) Music Player takes 2-3 seconds to play a song when clicked on it.
5) Another minor bug is the time stamp of Message Sending. Sometimes, a message fails to be sent. It's then scheduled to be 'Resend at .......' But if you send it manually, that 'resend' time is attached to the message. not the actual one. It's not a major bug but it makes the Conversational View scattered.

It might be worth you trying to do the following resets:
Soft Reset:
Enter into your keypad *#7780# and when prompted, enter the default passcode 12345. If you have changed the code, it will be the code you changed it to.
A backup will not be needed as this will not delete any data.
Hard Reset:
This will erase all data on your device, so a backup is recommended before you do this.
Once backed up, enter *#7370# and when prompted, enter 12345 as the default passcode.

Nokia Belle FP2 - Google and Bing local search res...

Hi, I've got a Nokia 700 with Nokia Belle FP2.
No matter if I use Bing or Google for searching, it does not offer any local search results to me, although the browser supports the HTML5 geolocation API.
Also, the Google Mobile version is the "light" version.
How can I change this?

Hey I have updated my 701 to FP2 just after you guys released FP2 from your servers via OTA(2nd oct) . Over all its a good update but i have noticed that
1) No option to use Front cam while in camera or video mode .
2) No exit button in camera or video mode( have to press End key)
3) Nokia Music and Video editor fails to respond( DEAD)
4)Phone is laggy especially when using music player and web/email applications at a time.
5)BELLE EXTRA BUTTONS are colliding with CALL & SEARCH homescreen buttons( CHECK ATTACHMENT )
6)In Landscape mode ( when using any application e.g: Whats App or Nimbuzz e.t.c.,) not able to see the text typed above.( CHECK ATTACHMENT)
7)No option to select Multiple images in gallery.

808 Belle FP2

Is it me or is "Swipe to unlock" rather slow as missing tap to unlock already?
Prefer not to use spring loaded "lock-key" as probably first component to fail!

@aspergerguy Did you really create this thread with the title "808 Belle FP2" ? Tut tut.
I agree that the swipe is a little slower than the previous tap, however, I pretty much always use the physical lock switch and have no reason to think it will fail. The switch never failed on my N97, C6-01 or N8 and this one on the 808 seems the most robust of the lot.
svi78> Please try the following: Press Menu key and then swipe from the right to left. There is not "unlock" button on the Nokia Belle FP2.
aspergerguy said that the swipe was slower than the tap, not that he couldn't find how to unlock the screen without using the switch.

We currently do not have any information on upcoming software updates suffice to say Nokia regularly deliver software updates to all phones to give our consumers both performance improvements as well as additional feature. Nokia is committed to continue software support for Symbian through 2016.
In the meantime you can continue to check for updates via Nokia suite or through your device. Please refer to the following link on how to do this:

Cartier001 is right to point out that no FP2 variants have yet been produced for Hong Kong, Taiwan (where I live) or the PRC. One explanation for this is that FP2 makes fundamental changes to keyboards, and these three variants obviously all have Chinese input, which may need extra testing etc. Another possible explanation is that we are not regarded as important enough. Annoyingly Nokia plugs FP2 on the support sections of its web sites in these countries even though it is not available.
Effortful is unfortunately correct to point out that lots of people still do not have FP1. There are lots of posts about that here. This thread (one of many on the subject) is one that I started and has regular new posts of users who still haven't received it.

Adrianhughes is right to say that availability of Nokia's updates depends on country and operator variants, but wrong in suggesting that it would be any use to contact your local Nokia care. Unless there really is some technical problem with your phone, they invariably just tell you to keep checking.
FP1 was not delivered in Taiwan unti more than six months after it was announced. I wrote to Stephen Elop to complain about the poor service in this respect four months after its first announcement and got an email back from him the same day, followed by a call by someone very polite but with no concrete information. I wrote again two months later and got no reply from Mr Elop, but I did have a call from Nokia less than a week later saying that the software had eventually been released for my phone.
Concretely my advice to people in Sri Lanka is to try and find out whether your country has its own Nokia phone variants (Nokia care or your operator might tell you this, or you might find it on the internet somewhere) or whether you use Indian phones. If you have Indian phones then FP2 should be available and you should ask your operator where it is.
My adivce to Effortful is to kick up as much fuss as possible, here on these boards, with your local Nokia care and by writing to the head of Nokia in the US or to Stephen Elop if you have to. It really is disgraceful that FP1 is not available yet and that noone is willing to say why not or when it will be. I would do this, but as I have it now, I am arguing from a weak position.
Unfortunately, those of us in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will just have to keep on waiting for FP2; we waited more than six months for FP1, so the current delay hasn't really registered yet.

If you read the Reviews for the Application (at the MarketPlace) it seems that the application is not yet compatible with WP8. You may need to contact the Developer or wait for an Update ...
