Upgrade to BI7 - Master data report not working with attributes

Hi
We've recently upgraded to BI7. We've noticed that any queries where a characteristic is the info provider, reporting on the attributes as free characteristics is not possible. The only way to fix this is to make the characteristics navigational. Is there a fix for this, or do we have to make all the characteristics navigational? It used to work in 3.1

Hi Expert,
We are starting upgradation, Can you please prvide guide me how to do the upgradation.
Thanks

  • Master data reports not working

    Hi Gurus,
I created report based on 0EMPLOYEE(MasterData). I have diffrenet users with authorisation to see this report. But I execute this report I got NO AUTHORISATION . I checked the user profile S_RS_IOBJ was missing , so I added the object with the following values in the object
    Activity -
    3
    Infoobject: -
    0EMPLOYEE
    Info Object Catalog: -
Sub object of Info object -
    DATA
But the problem still exists i am not able to access this report which is built on Oemployee.
User has S_RS_COMP , S_RS_COMP1 along with other auth objects.

    Hi All,
I added 0employee in S_RS_COMP and it is working fine. I think we need to maintain * or the the technical name of the infoprovider in the INFOAREA ( S_RS_COMP ) to allow user to access data from that infoprovider.

  • Web Report not working with parameter form

    Hi,
I have a report which has got a parameter form. This report is
running fine in client/server environment. But when I deploy the
same report on web (CGI) using PARAMFORM=YES, I am getting the
parameter form and after pressing the SUBMIT button I am getting
a blank report under the following two cases even though I have
    data for that query:
    CASE1: <input type="hidden" name="desformat" value="html">
then I am getting the report with no data retrieved.
    CASE2: <input type="hidden" name="desformat" value="pdf">
then I am getting completely blank report (no logo, no column
    titles, etc.)
See the HTML code below. Remember, the same thing is running
fine in client/server environment. Moreover, if I make a HTML-
coded form for the report then everything on the client's
browser is running fine. But this is not what we want, 'coz we
are running the "BEFORE PARAMETER FORM" trigger in the report.
So, should I conclude that web-reports does not work with the
parameter forms?? Is it a bug???

No pal, that's not the problem. The problem lies with the
"BEFORE PARAMETER FORM" report trigger on the web. Check this
out on ur report server and u will understand my problem.

  • Master data check not working when loading into and ODS object

    Hi guys,
we are loading transactional data into an ODS from a flat file.
In the infopackage, we have checked the option :
"Do not update data if no master data exists for a characteristic".
This option seems to be unreliable :
For some characteristics (it seems those loaded using transfer rules (routines)), incorrect data is still loaded into the ODS even if no entry exist in the associated infoobject master data table.
    Any help appreciated.
    Many thanks !
    Pierre-Yves

    Hi Dear,
please delete all the incorrect master data from the master data characteristic first and then try to uploading the data again .It should work, because there migth be some master data created when data were loaded with out the check before.
And please check whether all your characteristic info object are of master data , I mean that in the infoobject defination you have checked the master data check box on the info object. If you have only text then it might fail the master data check.
    hope this help.

  • Info-Object Master Data is not populated using Attribute View

    Hi Colleagues,
I have one info-Object 'Resource', compounded with client, resource type and scenario.
I want to fill its master data using an attribute view.  In Master data tab, i have mentioned the package and attibute view (SAP HANA MODEL).
Assigned all the attributes to respective fields in attribute view.
I can see data using the 'Data Preview' in my attribute view.
    Two issues --
    1. Maintain master data option is disabled in the context menu of 'Resource' Info-Object.
    2. Also the data available in attribute view is not populating in master data of info-Object ( I tried seeing by creating a report).
Please suggest what is wrong here.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hi,
When you are loading data from DSO to IO, seems like some filtering is happening. Just check the active table of DSO and make sure that you have all the 59 records available.
Another important thing is check the primary key of your master data i.e. if there is any compounding attribute if not then records from DSO might be getting overwritten in the master data. i.e. only 6 unique records.

  • View Report not working with CVI 9?

    Hi:
We recently installed the CVI 9 run time engine on several of our stations. However, now we're seeing a problem where the 'View Report' button on the batch and parallel model result panels no longer work. If you try to view the report, the panel freezes instead.
I've verified this problem with the default Teststand Full Featured CVI User Interface and the default modelsupport2 files. We are running Teststand 4.0.1f1.
Any idea what is going on? The report button works if we run from the sequence editor or downgrade back to CVI 8.1.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hey Dave,
Thanks for reporting this.  I've already been able to reproduce the behavior on my machine with TestStand 4.1.1 and CVI 9.0 installed using both the Batch and Parallel Process Models.
As a result, this was reported to R&D (#138134) for further investigation.  We will treat this with high priority.

  • IPhoto change time and date does not work with Flickr

    Hello everyone,
In my iPhoto librairies, I do change my photo date and time to set them we they were actually taken. Here, I'm refering especially to photos which are:
    * scanned photo
    * stiched photo
    The issue is:
When I share these photo on Flickr, Flickr sort them with the previous date time setting, even if I have selected to change the original file in iPhoto.
So it is painful to end up seeing that all the work done on iPhoto is not reflected elsewhere.
This issue can only be in iPhoto as the old date time should be swapped with the new one.
Let me know when the fixed will be implemented so I stop loosing precious time editing photos!
    Regards,
    Francois

I have an Access Database created with Access 2010 installed on a machine running Windows 8 using the Access 2010 Runtime code. For the most part the database works but all reports that require a date in the header come out with ##error. Works fine
with full access on any other machine. Just this one were we are using Runtime. Any ideas?
Make sure you don't have Date used as a Field Name, as it is a Reserved Word in Access and can cause unpredictable behavior.
Also make sure you have compiled the VBA code, before using the Runtime version.
Have error handling in place, to capture errors in your DB.
    Hope these pointers help,

  • TV @nywhere Master MSIPVS Does Not Work With P4 Hyperthreading

For some months now I have been tracking down a problem that has plagued a large number of members in this forum. The symptoms of this problem are the intermittent freezing of the MSIPVS picture and the inability to exit MSIPVS, forcing a reboot to end the WinDvr task.
Various causes have been identified by members including, IRQ conflicts, PCI slot location, component heating, DirectShow filter/codec conflicts, bad MSIPVS installs, Norton Antivirus, MS Messenger, and dial-out connections. I have extensively tested all of these and they proved not to be the cause.
The credit to finding the needle in the haystack goes to "rbarat", who observed on May 5 that he had similar symptoms but only had them on PCs that had P4 Hyperthreading turned on. I was able to turn off Hyperthreading in my bios with minimum performance impact, and MSIPVS has been performing without picture freeze and shutdown hang for several days now.
Now knowing what to look for, I searched the Internet for any mention of video problems related to hyperthreading. Talk about a well kept secret! Found a single relavent entry:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;817589&Product=winxp
In a nutshell there is a flaw in the Microsoft DirectX module "stream.sys" that results in the video stream from a TV tuner card no longer being passed to the application. This should affect all tuner cards and their application, but appears to have major impact on Intervideo programs (the publisher of MSIPVS, WinDvr, and HomeTheatre). I discovered the failure symptoms in all three of these programs.
There is a hotfix available from Microsoft (If anyone already has this please PM me I would like to test a copy) but MS recommends waiting until Win XP SP2 is released. The other option is to go into your bios and turn hyperthreading off. This will have some performance implications on you PC and you will have to weigh the pros and cons of this temporary solution.
I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that this problem was identified by MS before July of 2003, almost a year ago. With so many P4 hyperthreading PCs out there, I am not surprised that so many members of this forum have run into this problem. What I don't understand is, if this problem was known by MS a year ago, why would a manufacturer making TV Tuner cards not know about this and bring it to our attention.

I am not aware of the Hyperthreading problem symptoms including the PC freezing. The reports I have read and from my own experience, only the picture freezes not the PC. Since you turned off hyperthreading in the bios, if you are still experiencing PC freezing, I don't think your problem is Pentium 4 related.
I am not sure what you mean by IRQ conflicts popping up in device manager. The most that Device Manager would show is that you TV card is sharing an IRQ with another device. IRQ sharing is a valid process and would not be flagged as an error. It is just that this particular card does not like to share an IRQ, so it's just another thing to consider. There are a number of posts in the forum that describe issues with the particular PCI slot that the card occupies and the IRQ shares that are assigned as a result. Have you tried installing the card in other slots?
Another possibility is codec/filter conflicts. There have been reports of problems related to the installation of codec packs. K-Lite comes to mind. If you have one installed, you may want to consider uninstalling the pack to see if that removes the symptoms. (Just a word of caution. The uninstall of some of these packs occasionaly results in other headaches.)
If this is a PAL version of the card, there is a patch to Direct x to apply. The symptoms of this problem are not freezing of pc to the best of my knowledge.
It took me three months to find the cause of my TV card problems. I would not blame you if you decide that life is too short for jerking around with this card. I took another point of view early in the game, saw it as a challenge, worked on it when time permitted and when I came up with new possibilities. Felt I met the challenge when I made it work. You may have more important challenges in life.

What is this error? We have installed Oracle client (64-bit, since we use 64-bit Excel and Sp is also 64-bit) on SSAS PPIV Server and SharePoint Content DB Server. Do we need

    Thanks,
    Sonal

    Hi Sonal,
To use PowerPivot for SharePoint on SharePoint 2013, it is required to install PowerPivot for SharePoint with the Slipstream version of SQL Server 2012 SP1. If you install SQL Server 2012 and then use the upgrade version of SQL Server 2012 SP1 to upgrade,
the environment will not support SharePoint 2013.

  • XLR old reports not working with UDF from Marketing docs

    Hi,
We are using SAP Business One 2005 A (6.80.318)  SP: 01  PL: 16 and the following version of XLR.
XLR Version 6.80.367 (under about XLR) or 6.80.01.26 (under Add-ons manager).
We have just gone from 6.80.01.25 to 6.80.01.26 version of XLR and have had an issue with the reports that contain UDF's.
Previously when doing patches of SBO we have had issues with the UDF's renumbering eg.  SalesEmp_1 becoming SalesEmp_2.  Within the XLR reports we would simply update the identifier of the UDF and it would report correctly.
The issue this time is that the identifier has disappeared.  ie. SalesEmp_1 has become SalesEmp.  When you create a new report the data can be retrieved correctly however when you change the existing report to reflect SalesEmp (rather than SalesEmp_1) it reports no data.
I am not keen on re-creating all of my reports with UDFs and was wondering if anyone else had encountered the same issue and come up with a solution.
It may have something to do with the UDF's being available as Dimensions now whereas previously they were only Light Dimensions?
Let me know if I need to clarify further - although it will probably make perfect sense if you have been through the same issue - and if you haven't you may not be able to help.
    Kind regards
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question...
...but anyway, this Forum is focussing on the SAP Business One SDK.
In principle the Implementation Forum in the PartnerEdge P2P (http://p2p.sap.com/businessoneforum?type=join) area should more suitable for such questions.
I suggest that you raise your issue there - and hope that you will get the right answer.
...or since the issue came up when you changed from one version of XLR to another - log a question to SAP Support on the XLR component.
    Sorry,
    Frank
