Upgrade (to CC 2014) left behind the old CC versions!

This isn't a major problem but nevertheless, still very annoying.
I recently upgrading all the applicable CC software to the 2014 edition but found that I was still using the old CC software, whenever loading from the Windows recently opened list.
So now I have the following folders taking up needless space:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe - Previously installed 32bit versions of the CC software. Why did Adobe install these? I have a 64bit OS!
C:\Program Files\Adobe - This is the 64bit versions of the CC software. Now it is a mix of:
    Adobe Bridge CC (64 Bit)
    Adobe Illustrator CC (64 Bit)
    Adobe Illustrator CC 2014
    Adobe InDesign CC (64 bit)
    Adobe InDesign CC 2014
    Adobe Media Encoder CC
    Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)
    Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
Questions?
1. Why did Adobe install the x86 versions, when I clearly do not require that version? Do I still need the duplicated software versions in the x86 folder?
2. Why didn't Adobe remove the obsolete versions in the 64 bit folder? Can I delete the folders (in red); Adobe didn't include an uninstall for the older versions?

I just wish this was explained during or after the upgrade. It took me a week before I realized I was still opening my documents with the old version. It was only when I went looking for some of the new features described in the release notes.

Thanks , I just released that my list was sorted by date installed, therefore I didn't see that the older editions were still listed.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

When i try to restore my Back up using Itunes this is the message i get - "Unable to restore backup as the software is old - Please setup as a new device and then try to restore your backup" - Please advise. If i do so are there any chances of loosing my data. At this point in time i would be happy if i could just retreive my contacts list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

Do you have the latest FaceBook app version installed?
If so, try a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.

Doing a factory reset will delete your Firefox install. Even if you move the app to the sdcard.

My start up disk is almost full, but I have deleted everything I can find - I think that when I upgraded my software it has saved the old one - anyone know how I can find and delete it?

Late last year I upgraded from tiger to leopard (very out of date I know) but ever since I have been getting warnings that my startup disk is full. I have deleted loads including pictures and itunes but still get the same mesage. I think when I upgraded the old version was stored somewhere and this might be causing the problem. Does anyone know where I would be able to find and delete - or alternatively have any other suggestions for what the problem may be?

80GB is a very small drive.
Sorry Noondaywitch, but omni disk sweeper isn't going to install in the space remaining, without more problems.
My Suggestions
1. Get a large (400GB+) USB hard drive
2. Copy all the contents of your home directory to the USB drive.
3. Delete all your files from your home directory on your computer after making sure everything transferred ok.
4. Perform a clean (destructive) install of Mac OSX and then the applications you need.
5. Check how much space you have left.
6. If there is less than 50% of the HDD space left (35GB or so), then consider replacing the HDD with a new larger one. If it's a white intel mac book, then this is very easy, and instructions how to do it are included in your 'everything else' wallet with your OSX DVDs etc.
7. If you can't replace the HDD, then it's time to consider a new machine i'm afraid.

What OS is on your new Mac? I'm doubtful AE CS3 will even run if it's new!
The oldest version of AE that is okay to run on OSX v10.10 (Yosemite) is CS6 (After Effects version 11.0.4).
I'd recommend just upgrading to After Effects CC 2014. It's significantly cheaper than $1,000.00 (think $20 a month or $50 if you want the ENTIRE software suite)
The current version of AE is 13.1.1 - to compare, AE CS3 is version 8.0.2
If I remember correctly, CS3 was the first version of AE that even supported Intel processors on the Mac!
Anyway, in case it might work, the serial numbers should be on the case that the After Effects version 7 discs came in.
If you don't have a serial number on that disc and you were doing some form of online activation, you're in for some more fun! Adobe no longer supports CS2 online activation. Ihave had to buy 2 chargers due to the fact that the square adapter was left behind,,, the charger is the same color as the face plate and was not noticed. Can you buy just the square adapter instead of the whole unit?

When a window is open and I try to go to a new bookmark or a link in an existing site, the new window opens behind the old window.

It isn't every time, and sometimes doesn't happen for a long time, then I'll go to a bookmark or toolbar link and the new window opens behind the one I was on. Example: I just opened a second window (CTRL N) and clicked on a bookmark. It opened a new window behind the one I'm on as I type this. I did the same steps again and it opened the new window in front of this one. It doesn't seem to make any difference which site I start from or go to or if I use CTRL N or let the bookmark do the opening.

This can happen if you have a tab open in the main browsing window that uses the plugin-container process (e.g. Flash).

You are right. On Toshiba download page you will not be able to find older BIOS version.
When the new BIOS update is realised the old one will not be available for download.
If you need older version contact nearest authorized service provider.
They must have it. Be cool and talk with them. Maybe they can send it to you per mail.

How do I get the old java version (the one that worked) back

I just did the lastest OSX upgrade. OSX 10.7.   It did a few things to Java.
1) It removed the Utility to select a Java version to run (umm, so how am I supposed to pick Java 1.5 for some old Java 1.5 apps?)
2) It made some Java 1.6 applications that I need on my desktop to do my job not work.   Anyone heard of ScrumWorksPro.? Barfing on a laf.jar that's missing from the new 1.6 version
I can't seem to 'downgrade' back to the version that worked.   Does anyone have the zip file of the old version of Java that worked? If so, where do I unzip it to.   I'm fine with launching my app from a terminal, I just need the jvm files so I can. Looks like the installer (or my attempts to get rid of the new version by doing rm -r on every Java dir I could find) has gotten rid of the old version of Java.   I just can't seem to find the installer or the zip files to get the old version.

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, Control-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. ITunes says my iPhone 4 is updated, but I've got the old Bluetooth version and haven't got the new menues? Music that i've loaded to iTunes directly is not synced to the iPhone either, but the other way it syncs...

iTunes says that my iPhone is updated, and I've done all the updates, but I've still got an old Bluetooth version and not the new menues. If I download music to iTunes directly that music does not transfer to the iPhone when I sync it to iTunes, but music from the iPhone is copied to iTunes... Any one else who has experienced this and/or have a solution? I'm having big problems with using bluetooth handsfree and I've heard that got better with the new bluetoothversion.

Flash for linux .tar.gz package is still the old 346 version

i trid to upgrade my flash, so i download the .tar.gz package from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ , after the file was installed, i loaded a flash video in firefox, and found the version is 11.2.202.346. i also downloaded the rpm package, the version is 356.
i think the .tar.gz package should also be updated and i suggest that the version should be containded in the file name so that it is easy to distinguish.

11.2.202.346 was and is the last version to be developed for Linux. There won't be any more.

I had to export the soundtrack instead of sending the track directly to soundtrack pro, because the changes I made in sound track would not carry over to my FCP project. After I had edited my AIF file in STP I have tried exporting it as an AIF file to be imported into FCP, but everytime STP creates the file it is with the OLD audio. I have done this multiple times in different ways, but there seems to be no way to get my edited audio into my FCP project. Please advise. Thanks!
