Upgrade to ecc6.0

Hi All,
I want to know what are the changes to be done when we go for upgradation to higher version..
Thanks & Regards
Ashu Singh.

Hi Ashu,
I think you would have searched the SDN. This is one of them
Following tasks are to be performed while upgrading:
1. Technical Upgrade
- Version upgrade, without functional enhancements
- ABAP Code fixes
- Fixing SPDD
- Fixing SPAU
- Stabilizing the standard SAP transactions.
- Implementing known OSS Notes.
- Identify and correct the clone programs.
- Identify and correct the customer objects.
- Unit testing of upgraded objects.
- Clean obsolete objects
- Functional configuration changes (Must haves)
- Functional process testing
- Mock/Timing upgrade on production like environment
2. Functional Upgrade
- Technical upgrade + Deploying new functionalities available in upgrade version
- Package enabled Business process Re-engineering - If applicable
- Optimization of Custom objects & programs, by utilizing new functionality.
3. Unicode Conversion
- Mandatory for systems on MDMP code page, as SAP does not support these pages.
- Simple way to check if a Unicode conversion is required is to look into the number of entries in table TCPDB. More than one entry in this table mandates the Unicode Conversion.
Hope this helps you.

  • Plug in compatability between BW plugin in R/3 and BI - R/3 upgrade to ECC6

    Hello,
    we are running SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0  Release 700 Patch 19.
    Our underlying R/3 system is still 4.6C with plugin 2004_1_46C ( yes, I know it is time )
    We are upgrading R/3 to ECC6 with plug in P701 Patch 3.
    Questions:
    1.) I would like to know where exactly I can see which ECC6 plugin is copmpatible with our BI Version.
    2.) Did anyone who has upgraded to ECC6 experience any particular issues when upgrading the plugin?
    3.) Sense check of approach - so far the simplistic idea from a BW perspective is:
    New R/3 system has been created and connected to BW :
    1.)     In BW ACTIVATE SOURCE SYSTEM
    2.)     In source system connection option : Replicate datasources and activate
    3.)     Transfer global settings u2013 first simulate then update tables u2013 no rebuild should be necessary
    Before the Plugin P 701 in the R/3 ( ECC6 ) system can be upgraded the BW delta queues need to be cleared in the source system ( R/3.)
    4.)     Clear out V3 queue either via BW as part of the jobplan ( or manually via RSA7 but would mean loss of data )
    5.)     After run of batch schedule during posting free period check in RSA7 for entries in delta queue - should be empty
                         now.
    6.)     Does the clearing of the delta might need to be run twice to clear the queue completely ?????
    8.)                 Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? )
    9.)                 If delta queues are empty and the logistics cockpit is deactivated then upgrade the plug ins in R/3
    10.)               Then repeat step 1-3 and reactivate the logistics cockpit again
    Is this it?
    Many thanks for advise on this.
    Regards
    ChrisAC

    SAP Note : 153967 and
    https://service.sap.com/r3-plug-in should give some information on plug in compatibility...
    8.) Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? )  - I think you just need to desachedule the collection jobs alone and not deactivate the LO Extractors and activate them once again...

    Hi
    from the business perspective also look into the topic "enhancement packages" (see also the separate community here). Basically you can upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0 + implement enhancements from these packages in one step.

  • SPUM4 Issues before upgrade to ECC6.0

    Hi All,
    I am trying to do vocabulary check in SPUM4 before upgrade for ECC6.0. I have 3 Development clients 010,100,110.
    My issue is that, I am not sure in which client I should do this vocabulary check. Is it in 000 or individual clients.I got this doubt because , I see the same texts in all the clients.
    Can anybody help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks

    Chandra,
    We did a similar upgrade 2 years ago - 4.7 to ECC 6.0.  We had also implemented cash managment on 4.7.  The configuration for cash management in 6.0 is the same as in 4.7, so we did not have to make any changes to that.  Also, I looked back at our upgrade testing documentation and we did not have any issues related to cash management.

  • Activation of Parallel currency while upgradation of ECC6.0

    Hi Experts,
    We are useing SAP 4.7E Version along with IS OIL .  SAP went Live on 01.04.2006 . Company code currency is INR . *We have not activated Parallel Currencies i.e Hard Currency or Indexed Currency .*
    1. Is it possible activation of parallel currency while upgradation to ECC6.0
    2. If activated , what are the complications of clearing the Past documents
    Best Regards,
    Lakshman

    Dear,
    Use transaction OY01, where going in to your country there is a field Hard Currency. Put currency here which you want it to be the hard currency.
    This is customizing object which will not allow you to make changes in production instance as NO CHANGES ALLOWED is set for the client in SCC4. Better do this in development and transport it to production.

  • Dump in spools generated before Upgrading to ECC6

    Hello,
    After upgrading to ECC6, we note that spools (sp01) generated in the previous version (46c) return the following dump: CONVT_NO_NUMBER ("Unable to interpret" 095 # "as a number").
    The dump is produced in the function PREPARE_OTF_FOR_GUI_PREVIEWER.
    I would like to add that the printing language is Russian.
    Anyone knows if there is any program to run in order to fix these spools or any note to apply in order to solve this issue?
    Thanks in advance for your help
    Best Regards,
    Leo

    Hello
    There is no solution for this issue:
    "Unfortunately, there is no general solution for correcting the specifiedproblems AFTER the conversion.
    To avoid the problems from the very start, execute one or more of the
    following steps PRIOR TO the conversion:
    o Printing the requests
    o Archiving the ABAP lists
    o Downloading the ABAP lists
    o Converting the requests to PDF with the RSTXPDFT4 report
    o Sending the requests by e-mail
    According to our developer's feedback about this issue ,it is not
    supported that try to convert an old OTF request that was created
    before the Unicode conversion.

  • Upgrading to ECC6.0

    Hi,
    Our SAP consultants have advised us to upgrade to ECC6.0; however they state the we will not be able to continue to use our CE.NET based hand held scanners and we should 'upgrade' the terminals to WM2005. Apparently we cannot upgrade the terminals, hence we will need to buy brand new WM2005 terminals!
    This does not sound correct to me, if it works on WM it should work on CE.NET?
    Is this true? Do we need to buy new hand held scanners if we upgrade to ECC6.0?
    Thanks
    David.

    Hi David,
                     It's a good idea to move to ECC6.0 from 4.7 because it's entering into Extended maint. from March 2009. I have not much exp. in working with scanners, what you can do is place acustomer message to SAP by http://service.sap.com.
    If possible find out is there any chance to get this product supported from next Service Release ?( like SR1, SR2current .... of ECC6.0)
    I hope this solve your problem,
    Hari.

  • IDOC Syntax Error E0072 with status 26 after upgrade to ECC6.0

    Hi
    We have upgraded SAP R/3 from 4.6C to ECC6.0. After upgrade, when we create PO and output EDI, we are seeing this IDOC syntax error E0072 for Mandatory Segment E1EDK01. In 4.6C it was working fine with no issues, only after upgrade this problem started. It says E1EDK01 is missing which is mandatory. We are using basic type ORDERS01 with no extensions. When we see WE30 it looks fine, WE20 settings looks fine.
    Order of the segments got scrambled in upgraded version. First segment is E1EDP19001, this is supposed to be under E1EDP01 segment. There are two E1EDP19001 segments created but there were no sub segments to E1EDP01.
    Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Pandiri

    User Exit activation and fixing the issue in user exit fixed this issue.

  • Entries in table CDHDR for transaction MM02 missing after upgrade to ECC6.0

    Hi,
    I am supporting a client who has just performed an upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6.0 on their test system.  We try and use transaction MM04 (display material master changes) or MM02 and view changes to the material master but there are no entries.
    During the upgrade, the entries for transaction code MM02 in table CDHDR have been lost.  Can anybody give me assistance on how to avoid this when performing the production upgrade, or even better, is there any way to get these entries back?
    Thank you.
    Sharon.

    That shouldn't happen - entries shouldn't get lost.
    Is there anything in the CDHDR table (by browsing it with SE16)? If not, then something went wrong during the upgrade....
    Have there been modifications to the table? Is the the table active in SE11?

  • Call to ABAP webservice failed following upgrade to ECC6

    Hi all,
    I have the following interface : LDAP (webservice) ->XI 3.0sp17 -> ECC5 (webservice) sending employees id. it works fine.
    But, these days, SAP ECC has been upgraded from ECC5 to ECC6 (was 7.0). And now the call to the ECC webservice does not work anymore. I have the following error message in XI monitoring :
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Call Adapter
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Category>XIAdapter</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="PARSING">ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1 />
      <SAP:P2 />
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText>soap fault: SOAP processing failure, error id = 1001</SAP:AdditionalText>
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack />
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    The webservice is based on a function module that works fine when I test it. The webservice is active.
    The issue is that I do not know if the problem comes fromm ECC or from XI...
    Could it be a compatibility issue?
    If anyone could help me, it would be great!
    Thanks,
    Philippe

    The point has been solved by this way :
    On ECC6, we have activated the webservice again, in spite of his "activated" status.
    To do this, I used the SE80 transaction :
    Package Z*** -> Enterprise Services --> Enterprise Services --> Description service --> Z*** (name of the webservice)
    Then activation of the webservice, double-click on Reference object and activation of the Function module.

  • Upgrade to ECC6 - FICO standard transactions affected

    Dear All
    I am currently testing the upgraded SAP system (4.6 to ECC6).
    It would be great if you can share your experiences with the upgrade, with regards to affected SAP standard transactions.

    please go to "help.sap.com " and search for the release notes relevant to ECC-6.
    Here the rationale behind the Transaction codes are given.
    Hope this is useful to you.

  • For an SAP enterprise(4.7), how to add java stack during upgrade to ECC6.0?

    Source release:  an R/3 4.7 32bit
    Target release: ECC6.0 64bit (abap+java)
    My plan is to go over the following upgrade steps:
    4.7 32bit-> ECC abap only 32bit ->ECC abap 64bit -> install java stack.
    Is this the best way?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
    Its always best to go to the enhanced and latest version.
    _+4.7 32bit-> ECC abap only 32bit ->ECC abap 64bit -> install java stack.+_
    the above step will increase only only the cost.
    If ur going for just practice purpose, then no issues u can go for it.
    But its always good to go for
    4.7------> Ecc(ABAP + JAVA) together.
    coming to 32bit and 64 bit. Some constraints are there. If u look at Ecc 6- SR3, it will only support 64 bit.
    Look at all those sections and go for upgrade.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Using SolMAn / ChaRm for upgrade to ECC6

    Good Day;
    We are planning on using SolMan / ChaRm for our upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6 and I am wondering if it would be possible to do the following
      Upgrade a development system to ECC6.
      Define 2 virtual ECC6 Systems, 1 for the QA system and 1 for the production system
      Create a project that contains all the business processes and has the above landscape assigned. This project does not have ChaRM active.
      Create a maintenance cycle with the above landscape attached and ChaRM active.
    As we upgrade the real QA and production systems to ECC6, we want to u201Cflip outu201D the virtual systems for the u201Crealu201D ECC6 systems.
    Does anyone have any input in this type of plan?
