Upgrade to ECC6 & Unicode Passing HTML to Browser Issue?

Has anyone experienced web browser issues at display time? We are on IE7. We are now using the internal ITS. Our carriage returns are totally being ignored by the browser. Thus, we have a dropdown box to pick one of the businesses multiple partners, and because the HTML is not formatted correctly in the browser, the dropdown doesn't work, and we get an "array not created" error messsage in IE7.
I know that there are options in the IE 7 browser under the menu item "view". I've tried changing these to some different Unicode settings, but without luck.
Has anybody some experience with this issue?

Hi Tim,
this might be problem with Support package, by default Sap neweaver 2004s application comes with SP6, u can upgrade to higher SP to solve these type of problems.patch your system up to SP12 or SP13 and try.

Upgrade to ECC6 and Unicode: Passing HTML

We are experiencing new issues related output on our Web page URL.
Iu2019d like to convert the internal text table, t_html (now in Unicode-I assume utf-16), to contain the old hex values(I assume utf-8), before the Unicode upgrade. Or, convert the text table from utf-16 to utf-8.
First, and most importantu2026.Is this possible?
If so, I assume these are the steps I need to do, and am asking for suggestions::
step 1) Transform internal table t_html to hex (so I can covert it from utf-16 to utf-8?)
step 2) Convert the utf-16 hex values (Unicode) to utf-8 (old hex, non-unicode).
step 3) Transform the converted t_html back to text so I can pass it out in its usual fashion.
What would be the easiest approach (or not easiest approach, if necessary) to do this?
I am open to any and all suggestions, this has been a struggleu2026.Thank-You

Data load from ECC6 Unicode to BI7 MDMP

Hello Contributors,
We are upgrading R3 system to ECC6 Unicode but BI7 is still MDMP system. I'm testing data load and there are some errors related with unicode conversion.
ECC has multiple langusges like English, Korean, Chinese etc...
BI7 MDMP has English and Korean.
Error1 : Korean characters are broken in 0CUSTOMER_TEXT.
   As you know customer name doesn't have language code in R3 and Korean text are being used for Korean customers. After loading the data, English characters are okay but Korean characters are broken and displayed as #
Error2 : Values of fields are merged each other if there is Korean characters in 0CUST_SALES_ATTR.
   We have Korean characters in some of attributes of 0CUST_SALES. So if a record has Korean characters in one of the field then the following fields are merged each other. But if there is no Korean characters then it is loaded correctly.
For an example;
Values of R3 extractor
    Cust#      Name               Field1          Field2     Field3
    1234     Korean Text               ABCD          EFGH     JKLM
    3456     English Text               OPQR          STUV     WXYZ
Values of PSA table after loading
    Cust#      Name               Field1          Field2     Field3
    1234     Korean Text AB     CDEF          GHJK     LM
    3456     English Text              OPQR          STUV     WXYZ
(*if there are Korean characters then the following fields are divided and a part is updated in to the previous field)
Please help me if you have any ideas to resolve this issues.

ECC5 to ECC6 + unicode

Dear Sap users
We have ECC5 System with MDMP codepage (non unicode)
we want to upgrade to ECC6.
our ecc system is in sap_basis 640 16
the upgrade is supported with 6.40 (Basis SP > 21) -> NW 7.01 according to note 928729
I can run the SPUMG check on the sp16
and then copy the system and upgrade the sapbasis to sp21
or I need first to upgrade to SP21 on the basis?

and MDMP --> Unicode migration is much more than just running a few transactions If you read the Unicode conversion guide you will see that.
Neverless, I'd recommend updating first to the latest available support package level on the source system. This will make sure you have the latest tools to prepare the migration.

Dump in spools generated before Upgrading to ECC6

Hello,
After upgrading to ECC6, we note that spools (sp01) generated in the previous version (46c) return the following dump: CONVT_NO_NUMBER ("Unable to interpret" 095 # "as a number").
The dump is produced in the function PREPARE_OTF_FOR_GUI_PREVIEWER.
I would like to add that the printing language is Russian.
Anyone knows if there is any program to run in order to fix these spools or any note to apply in order to solve this issue?

There is no solution for this issue:
"Unfortunately, there is no general solution for correcting the specifiedproblems AFTER the conversion.
To avoid the problems from the very start, execute one or more of the
following steps PRIOR TO the conversion:
o Printing the requests
o Archiving the ABAP lists
o Downloading the ABAP lists
o Converting the requests to PDF with the RSTXPDFT4 report
o Sending the requests by e-mail
According to our developer's feedback about this issue ,it is not
supported that try to convert an old OTF request that was created
before the Unicode conversion.

Plug in compatability between BW plugin in R/3 and BI - R/3 upgrade to ECC6

Hello,
we are running SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 Release 700 Patch 19.
Our underlying R/3 system is still 4.6C with plugin 2004_1_46C ( yes, I know it is time )
We are upgrading R/3 to ECC6 with plug in P701 Patch 3.
Questions:
1.) I would like to know where exactly I can see which ECC6 plugin is copmpatible with our BI Version.
2.) Did anyone who has upgraded to ECC6 experience any particular issues when upgrading the plugin?
3.) Sense check of approach - so far the simplistic idea from a BW perspective is:
New R/3 system has been created and connected to BW :
1.)     In BW ACTIVATE SOURCE SYSTEM
2.)     In source system connection option : Replicate datasources and activate
3.)     Transfer global settings u2013 first simulate then update tables u2013 no rebuild should be necessary
Before the Plugin P 701 in the R/3 ( ECC6 ) system can be upgraded the BW delta queues need to be cleared in the source system ( R/3.)
4.)     Clear out V3 queue either via BW as part of the jobplan ( or manually via RSA7 but would mean loss of data )
5.)     After run of batch schedule during posting free period check in RSA7 for entries in delta queue - should be empty
                     now.
6.)     Does the clearing of the delta might need to be run twice to clear the queue completely ?????
8.)                 Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? )
9.)                 If delta queues are empty and the logistics cockpit is deactivated then upgrade the plug ins in R/3
10.)               Then repeat step 1-3 and reactivate the logistics cockpit again

8.) Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? ) - I think you just need to desachedule the collection jobs alone and not deactivate the LO Extractors and activate them once again...

from the business perspective also look into the topic "enhancement packages" (see also the separate community here). Basically you can upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0 + implement enhancements from these packages in one step.

I'm doing a CU&UC and just completed the first part - non-Unicode.
Since it will be followed immediately by a Unicode conversion, do you really need to do all the post-upgrade tasks? And if not, which are the mandatory part?

You can take the CU&UC Guide..... after upgrade and before unicode it's mandatory to do some steps, aall about unicode preparation.....after do it you can do the export....

RoboHelp HTML v9 - Browse Sequence not appearing when generated

RoboHelp HTML v9
New project - eg not converted from previous version
Added a browse sequence as per the help documentation - I've followed the help documentation however when I get to view result of the generated WebHelp - the browse sequence is not present on the topic pages that were added to the browse sequence.
I read previous forum postings for RH8 - where reinstalling or repairing the software seemed to assist - however when I access through control panel - add/remove programs the only option in to Remove RH9.
So I thought I'd ask the question here before uninstalling.
There was also mention of a dll file that needs to be registered on the viewers pc before the browse sequence would appear and if this is the case due to the possible audience for the publish I would not be able to control that.

Thanks - I guess I was looking for the page icons that visualized the
sequence for the viewer.
That being said - the navigation arrows are present in my published file
however seem to hold no functionality - while on a topic that is within
the browse sequence clicking the arrows does not move through the
sequence.
I was initially looking for onscreen navigation for a series of topics -
I though browse sequence would do the trick but I think I will move to
another method.

dream if instead of the above I have

Do you know if there is an equivalent call that takes the
named entities rather than the numeric ones? Clearly I can just do
some text substitution to get the mapping, but this means rather
more by-hand work than I had hoped. However, this is definitely a
step in a useful direction for me.

SPUM4 Issues before upgrade to ECC6.0

I am trying to do vocabulary check in SPUM4 before upgrade for ECC6.0. I have 3 Development clients 010,100,110.
My issue is that, I am not sure in which client I should do this vocabulary check. Is it in 000 or individual clients.I got this doubt because , I see the same texts in all the clients.

We did a similar upgrade 2 years ago - 4.7 to ECC 6.0. We had also implemented cash managment on 4.7. The configuration for cash management in 6.0 is the same as in 4.7, so we did not have to make any changes to that. Also, I looked back at our upgrade testing documentation and we did not have any issues related to cash management.

Use transaction OY01, where going in to your country there is a field Hard Currency. Put currency here which you want it to be the hard currency.
This is customizing object which will not allow you to make changes in production instance as NO CHANGES ALLOWED is set for the client in SCC4. Better do this in development and transport it to production.

Help! I cannot seem to find the solution for the error message I get when trying to generate a layout in Microsoft HTMl Help (Primary Layout). I am using the trial version, but it didn't seem to be an issue for anyone else in my class that was also using the trial version.

Sounds like a problem with the installation of RoboHelp on those machines. When you install RoboHelp, it installs the necessary files to view a CHM.
