Upgrade to Forms 6i Issue

Hi,
I have recently upgraded a Designer generated
5.0 Form to Forms 6i. I only upgraded the FMB and
all the associated PLLs through the Forms 6i Designer,
rather then regenerating through Designer 6i. There
is a reason I need to do this, dont ask ;)
But when I run the form in 6i it is opening
and then closing right after it opens. It appears
it has something to do with this call:
CGLT$TAB_BLOCKS.ACTIVATE := TRUE;
Can someone shed some light on what the problem
might be?
Thanks so much!

I think that you can find something in the Design Editor on-line help-topic "Object libraries and earlier versions of Form Generator".

    Hai,
Can anybody please give me link for upgrading from Forms AS10g (9.0.4) to (10.1.2.0.2)

Apart from some differences in paths (e.g. forms90 becomes forms), you should only need to recompile forms. Anyway have a look at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/web.1012/b14032/toc.htm

  • How to upgrade 6i form to 11g forms which includes OLE container ?

How to upgrade 6i form to 11g forms which includes OLE container ?

The migration assistant has no upgrade for that. You need to get a Javabean or PJC:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e10394/items.htm#sthref207
I don't know what kind of OLE files you have, but if it's just Word and Excel, I would you use browser functionality instead and get the doc's via web.show_document. That, however, doesn't give you update possibility.
You can also use webutil file transfer to get the file to the PC, modify it there, and transfer back to the database.
Then you still have a problem. Documents uploaded via Forms OLE container are actually modified by Forms before they are stored in the database. So, don't throw away your 6i version yet.
You need to get all the stored documents out via Forms 6i and save them as a normal document on the file system. Then you can store them back in the database using some other tool, like dbms_lob or webutil's file transfer.
There are some related discussions on his forum, so just use the Search option, e.g.
Oracle Forms 10g and OLE Containers, word documents?

  • I have been sending multiple messages on this forum, but I am not getting any responses. Is there a way that I can speak to someone directly regarding my Forms Central issues?

I would like to speak to someone directly or email technical support to get my questions answered about my Forms Central issues.

3rd party apps have no access to the Messages app on your iPhone, therefore no. They also have no direct access to messaging functionality of your phone.

  • Upgrade from Forms 4.5 to 6i - FRM 41032 error

I am getting the following error when I upgrade from Forms 4.5 to Forms 6i -
"FRM-41032 Cannot set ENABLED attribute of current item. "
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I think you are setting that attribute in trigger which currently firing for that item.
    for eg,
you have one item "empno".Suppose you want to set attribute for that item.you can't set that in
when-new-item-instance,key-next-item,post-text-item or ... triggers which currently firing for that item. you can use some other item's trigger.
    thanks,
    viji.

  • Very High Pro Forma Invoice Issue

Hi, any one explain about this
Very High Priority- Pro Forma Invoice Issue
how to create proforma invoice issue and where it can be used. In which scenarios we can use it.

    Hello,
You can create Proforma Issue with the billing type F5 for Order related billing and F8 for delivery related billing.
A Proforma invoice is an invoice provided by a supplier in advance of providing the goods or service. The term pro forma (occasionally written proforma) comes from a Latin phrase meaning, "as a matter of form". Its meaning depends on the context in which it is used. In business terminology, A pro forma document is provided in advance of an actual transaction. Such a document serves as a model for the actual documents of the transaction. A pro forma (or proforma) invoice is a document that states a commitment from the seller to reserve some goods to be sold to a certain person, the buyer. The buyer places an order and if the seller agrees, it extend a proforma invoice; when the buyer receives this invoice and agrees to all the terms specified in it, the goods are sent and the proforma is replaced by a commercial invoice (the definitive document). <b>A proforma invoice doesn't establish any obligation of transfering money from the buyer to the seller.</b>

You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if the article doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
Changing the rescue email address requires supplying two of the answers. They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • Win 10 Upgrade and Power Manangement Issues

I have an S230u Twist.  After upgrading to Win 10 I have the following outstanding issues:  The most problematic is that after the upgrade I have an issue with the unit going to sleep. Upon waking, the screen brightness resets to about 5%.  It doesn't do this all the time but often enough be irritating.  I've turned off adaptive brightness but this doesn't help.  I've run System File Checker which made some fixes to corrupt files and this helped somewhat.  Lenovo Solutions Center reports that the Power Management Software is not installed even though I 've upgraded the Power Management driver with the Win 10 version.  I'm at a loss to know what to check next to fix this. The other issue concers the start menu - the "Most Used"  doesn't seem to update with the Most Used programs I use (most which are on the Task Bar). Any support I can get on the Power Management issue would be most appreciated.

I spent more hours trying to resolve. Down loaded driver 355.60 Win 10 64 bit (355.60-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql)Uninstalled current driver and software via device manager.Expanded the driver and ran setup. Performed a custom install without GF Experience. Install went through fine and rebooted after removing software.Came back up and continued install and completed with no errors. Ran device driver and confirmed driver installed. Set GoogleEarth to run with graphics processor.Everything seemed okay.Set desktop to include in notification tray and Display GPU Activity so I could see that GE was running in processorThen launched GE with 3 buidings and citties. Ran site seeing tour.Crashed after a couple of minutes with System_thread_exception_not_handled and rebooted. When it came back up I turned of to show in notification tray and turned off GPU activity.Re-Ran GE and it lasted a bit longer and then crashed with the same errorSystem_thread_exception_not_handled and rebooted. Would welcome any further help.

  • Livecycle forms rendering issue with Adobe reader 10.1

    Hi,
I have designed a form in XFA 3.1 (Livecycle ES2 9.0). It works perfectly up to Adobe reader 10.0.3. Now when I am opening the form in Adobe reader 10.1.0 or above, the forms is showing some strange behaviors.
    1. For some of the drop downs, the text is not visible on screen although a value is selected which I confirmed by printing in a alert box.
    2. The calendar control look and feel has changed. the "Today's date" is showing up as a hyperlink (in light blue). However, the last two digits of the year of the "Today's Date" are not showing as a link and does not respond if I click on them.
Could this be a possible compatibility issue between XFA 3.1 and Adobe reader 10.1? Will upgrading the designer to a more latest version (and XFA 3.3) help in resolving this issue?
    Please advise. Many thanks!!

    Dear Marcik565,
The same workflow is working just fine for us. Could you please send us the screenshot of the print dialog at your end?

  • Upgrade of Forms 2.4 Character Mode to Forms 6i (6.0.8)

We have recenlty installed Oracle Applications 11i (11.5.5) on our Compaq Tru64 Unix Servers.
The task is to now upgrade/migrate our existing Forms (2.4 - character based) to 6i (6.0.8).
    Question:
What is the best way to migrate these forms?
Is there a checklist to follow?
    Does anyone have any examples?
Is there a upgrade/migration template to follow for this conversion?
Are there any documents that cover this subject that have not yet been posted to metalink, etc...?
Are there any potential issues to look out for?
    Thank you for your assistance.

I am not already that long in business to have seen any forms 2.3/3.0 but i know one thing: if you have lots of v2-style triggers then don't use oracles built in formsconvert to go to forms6i - v2 style triggers were gradually phased out by oracle and in forms6i you don't have anymore access to them (they still work, but you can't see and edit the sourcecode anymore!) .. and they are fully removed from forms9i!
check www.kumaran.com for a converter utility that converts v2 to plsql triggers ... but when looking at their site i think it's only working when going over forms3.0 ?!
i am now also planing such a converter tool (or better converter script) that will work with forms6i (based on a old converterscript by oracle guru frank j. naude), but it will take me a few days ... checkout www.orcl-toolbox.com for more. Our tool might anyway be of interrest to you if you have many forms to convert, because often in a conversion process you will have to fix and change some things globally in your application system ... and using oracles Open API is sometimes the fastest way for doing this.
    cheers stefan

  • Planning Web Form Menu Issues 9.3.1

I have upgraded a Planning application from 3.51 to 9.3.1 and after the migration everything works except the custom menus created for the web forms. More specifically, the menu item URL seems to fail because 9.3.1 passes the application name as part of the URL. For example, the URL in the menu is used to access documentation for the application. The entry is defined as follows:
URL /HyperionPlanning/custom/docs/Product_Doc.pdf and the option to open in a new window is selected.
When the menu option is selected by right-clicking from within a Web form Planning 9.3.1 attempts to open the URL as http://server:port/HyperionPlanning/custom/docs/Product_Doc.pdf&Application=AppName where AppName is the name of the planning application. In version 3.51, planning simply opened up the URL in a new window as http://server:port/HyperionPlanning/custom/docs/Product_Doc.pdf
Why does Planning insist on including the appname in the URL? Has anyone encountered this before?
Thanks for an input that could asist with resolving this.

    Hi,
It shouldn't be doing that, I tested it and it is working, though I am using a patched up version of planning 9.3.1
Maybe it is a bug and has been fixed in one of the patches, it also worth patching planning as many issues have been addressed in 9.3.1
The latest patch is 9.3.1.1.10 and available from metalink3
    Cheers
