Upgrade to iPhone 5 and iTunes 10.7 rain my parade
I have old iPhone backup in with my iTunes 10.6.1
How to restore my contact since iPhone 5 need iTunes 10.7 and I am using Mac OS X 10.5.8 which not able to install the iTunes 10.7
PS:
When I try to update my iTunes it suggested it is current.
When I installed iTunes 10.7 dmg manually it said "This software requires Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later."
How to install iTunes by ignoring this OS checked? Or how to restore my contact to my new iPhone 5
I think I do not want to upgrade my OS or my Macbook because this Mac is still working fine and I have no reason to upgrade it.

I am running Mac OS X 10.4 and was wondering what I need to upgrade to to purchase an iPhone and download iTunes 10.
You need at least 10.5.8, which is the max OS a PPC Mac can run, yet has some shortcomings if you use Calendar Syncing, or 10.6.x if you have an Intel Mac.

You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.

After upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow not displaying song playing. Why not?
Since upgrading to Lion and iTunes 10.4, cover flow is not displaying the currently playing song. It will simply display the first cover in the playlist. Also, the screen saver starts during playback, unlike Snow Leopard. Any ideas on how to fix? I have already repaired disk and permissions but problem persists.

I tried restarting my mac and my iphone a bunch of times, reinstalling iTunes after deleting dozens of files, and it didn't help at all.
I re-installed X-Code (had to use Activity Monitor to kill iTunes Helper in the middle of the install) and then my iPhone synced again! -

Curious... Syncing Issues Between iPhone and iTunes?
Just curious... the past several months I have noted various concerns around "syncing" between iPhone and iTunes... yet don't recall any mention of whether it occurs between MAC OS or WIN hardware (desktops and or laptops). Furthermore, I am interested if anyone can comment whether these sync issues occurs mostly on TIGER or LEOPARD OS when accessing iTUNES. (Guess I should pay more attention to the noted OS field.
I ask because I am considering an upgrade to LEOPARD by end of month and don't want to jeopardize my syncing to my iPhone if it is a LEOPARD related issue. Thank youI'm running Leopard and I've never experienced any sync issues.

Before installing a major OS X upgrade such as Leopard over a previous OS X version, it is a good idea to create or update your existing backup of important data stored on your computer's hard drive - including your iTunes library, photos, contact info, calendar events, documents, etc. I've never experienced any problems installing a major OS X upgrade over a previous OS X version, but I always update my computer's backup immediately beforehand to be on the safe side. -
im trying to restore my iphone and itunes doesnt allow it to restore without updating. problem is that i have the latest update on my iphone so why is it forcing me to wait for a 7hr update download when i already have the update and only need to restore?

I had this same problem when I tried to update. It locked up during the update. Your phone is in recovery mode. The only way I could restore my phone was to connect to a different computer and ask it to restore my phone. It worked and thanks to the fact that I had backed everything up to the iCloud before updating, everything is back to normal. I won't be updating to IOS 6.2.1 again. I had also updated iTunes and now whenever it starts it gives me an error message -42110 and doesn't recognize my Iphone when it's connected. Hopefully, Apple will fix this soon. Good luck.

I have forgotten my appleID password and the email it is linked to is deactivated, security questions aren't working. This is on my iPhone and iTunes acs so I can't sync with my new computer. You cannot merge Apple ID accounts, that has never been supported.
You can contact the Apple ID Security folks per the listing in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 and they can help reset security questions and get the account working. -

I just upgraded my iphone and now whenever it goes to sleep I have to enter a password to open it. Very frustrating! Can I disable this annoying feature? I went to Settings and disabled the Find My Phone feature thinking that would do it. But it didn't.
