I have an iPhone Model A1349 after attempting to upgrade to latest IOS the upgrade failed and now after attempting to restore the iphone I keep getting anarror " iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1)

i tried this but it only worked for client win-2.5.6005. after this command client pops up window for credientials. but for anyconnect client 3.1.00495 we have to upgrade IOS

I have IPad2 and I am facing the Facetime issue due to certificate expiry on Apr 16 as reported by Apple.
I dont want to upgrade to latest IOS because I think it would slow down the performance and ruin a good working IPad just to resolve this issue.
Is Apple going to provide some other alternative and/or fix the issue rather than forcing people to upgrade?

I know about the instructions to wipe my iPad and restore it. Just REALLY wanted to avoid doing it.
What I don't understand is WHY the passcode function was enabled when I NEVER set a passcode. I had passcode functionality TURNED OFF on both our iPads. When I set the iOS update to run (then went to bed) it should have SKIPPED setting a passcode during the update... since I never typed one in.
Like I said, using 0000 opened my kid's iPad after the iOS update. (thankfully!) But then I tried it on mine it got locked out.
Can't figure why the iOS update turned it on and has now set some random password that I could never know.

The iPhone 3G will not run anything higher than 4.2.1. It's been discontinued for over 3 years.

I think you're using a Lion developer version. Open  > About this Mac > More Info, and copy Software here. Did you purchase Lion in the App Store?

I have taken it out of the case - I figured it would obstruct the sensor (also have no screen protector).
Only thing I haven't tried from the Basic troubleshooting steps you mentioned was to "restore as new".
That I did try it tonight (succesffully restored), BUT my problem still exists.
You mentioned to go in the MAC store > Would they replace it (for free) if they reach the conclusion it's some sort of manufacturer faulty wiring even if it's a 3Gs (as an old model)?
Would they still if phone had water damage (this I'm just curious - the phone didn't)?

Upgrading to latest IOS on my iPhone and iPads appears to have ruined the ease of using airplay

Airplay used to be just playing a video and hitting the drop down box to select my apple TV, then I allowed the latest IOS version on my iPhone and iPads...now the drop down box at the video (you tube, etc) is gone and I have to swipe UP on screen to select the apple tv option and mirroring....except 9 out of 10 times it auto-transfers back to the iPad/iphone setting and fails to work. On youtube, from my iPhone I often get "can't play video" or error message I NEVER got before updating to the latest IOS.
This is really a buggy platform now that impacts MULTIPLE apple products!
Anyone having this issue?

Since upgrading my 4s iPhone to the latest iOS , I now can not see many wi-fi locations beyond my home network. Friends can find and connect to many wifi networks yet my iPhone does not even see them. I can not recall prior to the upgrade whether in the settings whether turning on the wifi was shown as wifi or WLAN however the on/off is now WLAN. Not sure what the difference is. Error 3194, AKA "This device is not eligible.. occurs for several reasons:
1. Update to the latest iTunes - currently 10.4.1.
2. Disable ALL security apps (firewall, antivirus/spyware) running on your computer. Additional measures may be needed.
3. You may need to edit the Hosts file on your computer to remove references to gs.apple.com if you EVER used hacking techniqus or apps such as tinyumbrella.
4. Don't try to downgrade the iOS.
5. If the phone was EVER successfully hacked in the past (jailbreak, downgrade, unauthourized unlock) there may be nothing you can do now to fix this.

If you receive this error, update to the latest version of iTunes. 3rd party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue, to resolve please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. How are you trying to update (directly on your phone or via your computer's iTunes, if a computer then is it a Mac or a PC), and what is the exact error message ?

Itunes unknown error 1015 when upgrading to latest ios

I have an iphone 3gs (32gb) and I tried to upgrade to ios 4.3.2 but upgrade failed and phone switched to recovery mode.
I haven't been able to restore after trying out all the options from apple's website and the error msg: unknown error 1015 keeps showing up. pls any suggestions??

Has the iPhone been jailbroken at any point or have you had any developer software on the handset? If so then this could be the cause of the issue.
You can try to remove the IPSW file from the computer (or try a known working PC & Network / Create a new user account on the computer and do it in there as it will re-download the IPSW file) and attempt to restore the device again.
Ensure that you've tried this (it's covered in the link) and the other steps in the following article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
If the iPhone is still refusing to restore then you're probably best to try and visit a Genius at a local Apple Store (if you have one).

Iphone 4 - signal issues after upgrading to latest ios 6

I upgraded to ios 6, as suggested by itunes on my iPhone 4 and that's last day i was able to make a peaceful call.
My signal just goes for a toss once i make a call. I see the 3g Symbol vanishing and the other person is not able to hear me but i am able to hear them.
Once i disconnect the call, the signal changes to E and then goes to 3G. Tried the below solutions as suggested in forums, but no luck
Please help..I am missing my iphone terribly.
1) Shift + Restore using itunes - Didnt work
2) Reset to Factory setting - Didn't work
