Upgrade to Lightroom 5.2
My Adobe CC Desktop tells me that all my apps are up to date, but whenever I launch Lightroom 5, it tells me there is an update to 5.2. Which is more reliable?
I would use the Lightroom updater - it seems more accurate in my experience.

Hi, I've just purchased and installed an upgrade from Lightroom 4 to 5. It doesn't seem to handle raw files authored with a new Nikon D750 camera. I spoke to the sales rep about this and he gave me a link to the 8.6 DNG converter page with instructions to download. 8.6 only works with Mac OS 10.7-10.9, according to the page. I'm running Yosemite, Mac 10.10. Please can you tell me my options? Lightroom 4 worked beautifully with my older cameras' raw files so I would like to continue using the application. What should I do? How soon will Lightroom 5 be able to deal with raw files from a D750. Many thanks, Adam.
Until the next version of Lightroom is released, you need to use the DNG Converter version 8.7RC to convert your RAW photos to DNG and then import the DNGs into Lightroom.

I have been using a Lightroom 5 including recent upgrades on my Mac Pro laptop for the past 1 year. This was purchased as an upgrade from Lightroom 4 for which I have a serial number. Today I purchased a new Macbook pro and loaded my Lightroom 5 however it is asking for my serial number which I have misplaced. I am unable to trace my serial number anywhere. I have even checked my adobe membership to locate my serial number but it does not seem to have any record which is strange as I have been using this software for over a year now and the previous versions since 2009. Could someone help me in my predicament.

I have just upgraded from Lightroom 5 standalone to Lightroom 6 standalone. I appear to have been automatically enrolled for a 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. Reading the FAQ, it appears that after the expiry of the free trial, if I do not sign up and pay, I will only be able to view my pictures on the desktop but not edit them - surely this cannot be true. How do I un-enroll for the 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and CC?
When I was signed into Adobe (which was a requirement for installing the upgrade), Lightroom 6 told my at the top right corner that I had 30 days left of my free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. In parallel with this forum posting, I am chatting with Adobe support. he is away to find out how to prevent any synching with Creative Cloud during the 30 day free trial. I do not think that Creative Cloud is an application that gets installed on your PC. I think Lightroom 6 has it built in, and can use it if if you are signed up to the Creative Cloud and Lightroom Mobile (which I am for 30 days)

I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my 2008 intel Core 2 Duo iMac with only 4G of Ram. Will I be able to run Lightroom 5 okay if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion? What will happen to the applications that aren't 64-bit compatible? Also the Eye-one Display 2 colorimeter to calibrate the monitor will not run on Lion, so that will be an expensive upgrade to an i1DisplayPro. Is the upgrade important enough to offset the expense? I have an Epson R2000 printer. Will there be problems with the drivers if I upgrade to Lion? It would be great to hear from other mac users who are also photographers and who print their own photos.
Before upgrading to Lion be sure to read this link:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271
Adobe lists these requirements:
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html
Looking at http://www.everymac.com/ even the earliest 2008 iMac was fully 64 bit, even though Boot Camp doesn't support 64 bit Windows on that machine. -

Hello Support have emailed a request before but it goes via Forums which do not help.I have come overseas for a few months and must still work, and need to have access to download software I have previously bought as own as I have a new computer. I have 2 versions of Master Suite and just need to be able to download one. Particularly Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat. The Lightroom version 4 is on this computer.I have been trying for months just to upgrade to Lightroom 5 too, but there is no option for this, other than having a whole package? Your site no longer allows one to download old software when a new computer arrives. This is urgent, please help! - and the emailed form that was meant to come to me half an hour ago didnt' arrive at my inbox! thank you in advance

I am trying to upgrade from Lightroom 4.4 to Lightroom 6 on a Mac running OS X (Lion). I have purchased Lightroom 6 as an upgrade (as I am running Lightroom 4). The Lightroom 6 installer continues to indicate that it cannot find a "qualifying product" and asks for a declaration of the Lightroom product installed and its serial number. I am currently running Lightroom 4 purchased through the Apple App Store in 2013; according to all the information I can glean regarding this product... it does not have a serial number (if it was purchased through the Apple App Store). Does anyone have an idea on how to supply a valid serial number for the Lightroom 6 installer?
iMac running OS X 10.9.5
Adobe Lightroom 4.4 (purchased in 2013 through Apple App Store)
Adobe Lightroom 6 (purchased online as an upgrade from Adobe Lightroom 4.X)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
BruceAs I said in the post, a serial number was not necessary to install it; the Apple downloadable version doesn't seem to be serialized. I have not uninstalled Lightroom 4; it is still running, but apparently in its present form it doesn't provide a serial number for the Lightroom 6 upgrade to use.

Please can someone tell me why I cannot reinstall my upgrade from lightroom 4 (lightroom 3 installed off disc with serial no) my hard drive crashed, and I am trying to get lightroom 3; 4 and 5 back on so that I can link my catalogues and continue work. I cannot install lightroom 5 until the upgrades from 4 are on the pc, (lightroom 3 installed off disc but 4 is a copy of the upgrade download I got when I bought it) These serial no's are legit and are registered under my account with adobe, but it still gives me the Big Red Cross when I put my serial no in! Please can someone help. I am at a loss. Thx Heidi

You don't need to have Lightroom 3 and 4 installed on your computer to install Lightroom 5. Just install Lightroom 5 and input your serial number for 3 in the previous version box and your serial number for 5 in the upgrade box. -
I think this happened after upgrading to lightroom 4.2, but I am not sure as I haven't used Lens profile correction in some time.
When I enable the "Enable profile corrections" checkbox in "lens corrections" The Make and model of the lens is recognized, but the profile field has only 2 optoins, "canon EOS 1D MK III" and "Adobe". It does not have any other options including the EOS 7D that I use. Tried uninstalling and installing again, that didn't help.
I found in the forum that for Win 7, lens profile is supposed to be stored in "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0", in my case the LensProfiles directory does not exist. There is a CameraProfiles directory(C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles).
How do I solve this? There is nothing wrong with your lens profiles.
The issue is that you are adjusting a JPG not a raw file. When adjusting raw files the camera model is not listed with the profile because it doesn’t matter and all of them say Adobe as their source for Canon cameras at least, but when adjusting JPGs the camera may have done certain adjustments internally so it does matter and is why you see the wrong lens-distortion occurring when choosing the 5D Mark III profile with your 7D JPGs.
For the record, I have profiles in both the locations mentioned: under Program Files\...\CameraRaw and under ProgramData\...\Lightroom 4.x. This makes sense because I have both Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom installed. The ones under Lightroom are all dated 12/2012 while the ones under Camera Raw are mostly dated 2/2012 with some from 11/2012 and other dates. The profiles are probably the same, but the Camera Raw ones retain the date of the original profile creation whereas the Lightroom ones all get updated to the same date. Lens profiles can also be installed with the DNG Converter, although I'm not sure which of the two locations those install to. -
Upgraded to Lightroom 3.6, cannot import NEF files from D700
Hi!
I just upgraded my Lightroom to 3.6 on my MacBook pro running Lion. Since then, I cannot import my pictures anymore, either from the camera directly, through a compact flash reader (SanDisk) or by adding the picture directly from my hard-drive. The standard Mac utility to download images work fine.
Lightroom tells me that it cannot read the files, with Lithgtroom 3.5 it worked (nothing changed in the meantime Camera profiles, OS X, etc.).
You can find one NEF file I cannot import here (dropbox link) : http://db.tt/6zSiNzYK
Any idea?Thank you Sean,
I'll try that once I'll have managed to get the import working. I created another catalog since last time I thought the import worked but again I got stuck.
Do you know anything else I could try? Ideally, do you know how I could get a better diagnosis? By the way, I already got in touch with the CS but all I got was a lousy answer (update my ACR... for Lightroom -_- )
I'm using Lightroom since the first version and I start to really be discouraged.
Thanks for your help, -
I am trying to license my recent download of Lightroom 5 onto my recently purchased Macbook with the serial number of the disk I purchased last year for my Windows PC (an upgrade from Lightroom 4). I receive an error "The serial number you entered is invalid". Why does CC not recognize this as a valid serial number?
Soyouca how did you install Photoshop Lightroom? Please uninstall the current installation using the uninstaller located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
Once Photoshop Lightroom is removed please download a fresh copy of the installation files from Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh. The update contains the full installer so please download the latest version of Photoshop Lightroom 5.
You may be asked to enter your serial number for Photoshop Lightroom 4. You can find information on how to locate the serial numbers under your account at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html. -
Upgrade to Lightroom 5 from Lightroom 4 with multiple installs?
I purchased Adobe Lightroom 4.0 MLP UE DVD, which allowed me 3 installations. Now I would like to upgrade to Lightroom 5 for the $79, but I wanted to know will I still be able to upgrade all 3 of my installations when I purchase a single upgrade??? Will the upgrade recognize the Lightroom 4 type I purchased and take this into account?
Yes you should be able to enter the Lightroom 4 serial as your qualifying serial number.
