Upgrade to Lollipop deletes APN

I have a YOGA tablet, @ - 1050L.
Last week, it upgraded to Lollipop, and while I don't have a problem with Wi-Fi like some other users in these forms, the upgrade deleted my APN, and Lollipop incredibly won't allow me to add a new one..
I need some serious help, because now, I can only use the tablet in the presence of Wi-Fi.

The upgrade should definitely not take 8 hours to complete. If the phone is still saying this, it either had some kind of error while updating, or the upgrade may be complete, and for some reason either failed to close the "please wait" notification window, or froze up while it was displayed.
At this point if it has been stuck there for 8 hours, you are probably correct that it will stay stuck there indefinitely without manual intervention. I would say although it may be risky, a power cycle is going to be your best bet at this point, unless you have extreme patience, and don't mind being without your phone for a while, which I would not be willing to do.
If it makes you feel any better, as long as there is not any kind of physical damage to the phone, issues caused by failed software updates are typically covered under the device warranty, as long as you followed the instructions and did not just get curious as to what would happen if you ignored the "DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PHONE" warning and DID turn off your phone (accidentally, of course ) Sometimes I... err.. I mean OTHER people... simply cant resist the temptation to see what happens if you do exactly the opposite of the big, bold, all-caps warning.

Did you install the latest version of Lync for Android ?
The current version of Lync for Android is
5.5.3.8935.
I don’t test it on M8, but on other Android 5.0 devices it works fine.

We want to make sure your phone is in working order Mb_in_NC. I know it can be difficult when you see different times. What is your make/model of your device? When did it start? Do you have a different time on any other applications?

Power key not working after few hours of upgrade to Lollipop

Please, i need urgent assistance as the power key/button on my device isnt working. I can't switch off the device and it worries me cos this started few hours after i performed the upgrade to Lollipop.

If there still are no reaction when pressing the ON/OFF button after a software repair, it sounds more related to a hardware issue that needs to be examined by a technician at an authorized service center. Cannot transfer music after upgrading to Lollipop

Hello,
A few weeks ago I upgraded my Z1 Compact to Lollipop. As if having trouble answering calls and getting the internet to work on my phone wasn't trouble enough, I now have noticed to be unable to transfer music into my phone through any application or program. I've even tried to change the USB slot and wire but the problem isn't in them.
I have tried the following:
-transferring from the PC through "right-click, Send-to, Xperia Z1 Compact"
-drag-n-drop from my music folder into Xperia Z1 Compact / Music
-using MediaGo
-using AirDroid
What might be the problem? I've read that I could downgrade my phone back to KitKat which I'd love to do, but I have no idea how to possibly do that.

Upgrading to SL deleted one of my extra accounts?

I just upgraded to SL on my Macbook. It seems to have worked fine overall, but a few odd things happened. The main one I'm concerned about is that I had an account called Guest, and it seems to have completely vanished. I had another extra account with a different name that is still there, and most importantly my main account is still there. If I don't get that Guest account back, I won't lose anything irreplacable, but I did have some settings in there that would be tedious to re-do (I had it set up to email me a photo of whoever used it). The only thing I can think of is that Snow Leopard seems to have an option for Guest access, and maybe because of that it deleted my other account, but I had manually named that account Guest, it wasn't any sort of official "guest account". I also don't like the warning that logging out of the official guest account deletes all data, so I don't want to use it. I'd rather have my own guest account.
I do have Time Machine backups. Is there any way I can use those to get that account with its settings back? It is also just really worrying that it did this in the first place-- what if I HAD had something important in there?
Also, SL changed my background picture to the default, and it didn't do that on our other macbook pro. Just weird...

(a) While that does make sense, I'd rather not have it made out like its my fault-- if that name was going to cause problems there obviously should have been a warning either when I named it that or when I upgraded. It can't be that uncommon of an idea, to have a guest account named guest. I don't specifically recall options to make an official guest account under my previous system, but maybe they were there and I just didn't use them. I'm surprised that would cause problems-- the system should have some way of knowing what kind of account it is besides the user-generated name of the account, and if it has no other way of knowing, then it should stop you from using its special names.
(b) Now that you mention it, there IS a folder under Users called "guest1" but it won't let me open any of the folders within that (except the one called Public which is empty), it says I don't have permission, which doesn't make sense since I'm logged in as an administrator. I also can't log into that account since its gone, so what do I do about those folders?
That account ought to be backed up by time machine pre-snow leopard, so is there a way to create a new account and restore from that old account? Or is that more hassle than its worth?

hi craigmconnor, thanks for brining this up. unfortunately this is a bug on the verizon variant of the htc one m8 specifically after the upgrade to android 5.0.1 - mozilla's developers are looking into this matter as we speak.

Z2 very slow charging after upgrading to lollipop ?

After i upgraded my mobile from kitkat to lollipop android i charged my mobile .. from 5% to 70 % it took over 6 hours !!!!
Before updating the maximum time was 3hours from 1to 100%
P.S : the same cable and chager is present .. Nothing new used !!!

Not sure what we can do to help but maybe it's just that you have upgraded and it may take time to settle down - You could try performing a system repair
Performing a system repair using PC Companion will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Xperia Z1 stuck in boot loop after upgrade to lollipop!

Hi,
I tried to upgrade my Xperia Z1 to lollipop on my macbook - but it failed due to something about update server error. Now , the phone just tries to boot, shows the sony and xperia logo, backlight comes on - and then shuts down and cycles through this! I tried using EMMA and the phone is locked and says to go to sonymobile/update - but that says to use PCCOmpanion - I have tried to use PCcompanion on a PC and folloed the instructions and it shows the start screen, select screen then just tells me to take the battery out and put the usb cable in again - obviously can't take the battery out - so i shutdown, put it in fastboot and it just does the same.
HELP! Followed the upgrade procedure to the letter and now my phone looks like its bricked....hope sony will replace as it was their fault! Or can someone help me!?!?!?

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

IWork09 after Mavericks upgrade - keep or delete ?

Just upgraded to Maverick and the Keynote, Pages and Numbers apps have "upgraded" directly into the Applications folder and not as updates to the existing apps under the iWorks9 folder.
So I now seem to have both the original and the new versions installed and running from seperate locations.
Is it ok to delete the iWork'09 versions or is that going to cause a problem on future updates as I no longer have the original iWork I paid for on the machine?

I wouldn't even open up any of your old Pages 4.3 documents in Pages 5.0. Too much formatting information is lost, and if you save it, then you are screwed (unless you roll back to an older version).
I'm going to try to use Pages 5.0 as much as possible for documents going forward (and then give feedback to Apple on most important features I want added), but the old documents I am keeping in the 4.3 format.

Support Pack upgrade issue: Request deletion dose not work on CUBE

Hi Gurus,
We recently had a support package upgrade from SAPBW701 SP6 to SAPBW702 SP7.
We have an Info package request stuck in yellow state for DSO Load in HR Data.
We manually made it red and are trying to delete it manually/by creating a variant for Delete target contents in the process chain. It is not getting deleted.
Rather if we use the Delete target contents variant previously created before the support package upgrade, it works fine.
Please help me if any one can suggest any SAP NOTE or some other solution if possible.

i think you have made it to red in request tab and tried deleting. Actually , you have to make the QM status red in Dataload monitor by double clicking the TOTAl technical status.
After the above activity, then try deleting.
I don't think its a Service Pack problem.

Xperia T: Upgraded to Lollipop -- Can't Text?

I upgraded my Xperia T to Lollipop today and can no longer send our receive texts. When I click on the texting icon, a white screen appears without any progress. I tried installing Textra, but it won't go past the set up screen. Help?

Upgrading to iOS5 deleted my camera roll. Can I recover it somehow?

I have a backup of my computer BEFORE I upgraded to iOS 5 which should contain the itunes backup of my iphone BEFORE the upgrade too.
A day after I upgraded my iPhone to iOS 5, I realized that the 5 or so pictures I had taken with my iPhone had been completely deleted from the camera roll by the iOS 5 update.
Is there any way I can possibly recover these photos from the iTunes backup of my phone when it was on iOS 4 a few days before?
I did not import these camera roll pictures into itunes.
Everything else on the phone was restored properly, and I have been using the phone for a few days now and do not want to delete anything I have added to it (apps, settings, etc) since the iOS 5 upgrade.
I only want to find a way to extract these 5 or 6 pictures from my previous iPhone backup in iTunes on my backup hard drive.
Please help!

I JUST found that I can look through the backup folder with all the gibberish names and I actually found the pictures by looking at the files from the dates that I knew I took them!!!
I had to look at the files in Quicklook mode, though, or you can't tell what they are.
I just hit the down arrow until I saw images in the Quicklook preview, copied those files to my desktop, and added .jpg to them and voila!
I FOUND THEM!!
Thankfully it was only a handful

Clear hard drive before upgrade - files not deleting???

I'm upgrading to Mavericks later today on my MacBook Air and I have transferred files to an external drive and deleted them from my MacBook.
I've also deleted Pages, Keynote and Numbers. All those related files were in iCloud, and two restarts and a Disk Utility later the files still show in Finder under All My Files.
About This Mac also shows 1.12gigs of Audio, 1.64 gigs of Movies and 5.03 gigs of Photos, but there are no files like that left on the Mac.
Could this be Photostream? Should Photostream even take up space on a computer?
Also, does 16.69 gigs of "Other" sound right with 17.04 gigs of Apps?
