As I said, there have been reports on there of problems for some people using 2008, as you have experienced with particular components of the suite.
Best solution would be an upgrade to 2011...I have had no issues at all using 2011 with Mac OS X 10.7.4.

  • How long does it take for upgrade eligiblity to show up after returning phone?

I returned a phone in store today and already receieved the credit on my account, but it shows that I am not eligible for an upgrade on my line. I was wondering how long it usually takes for my upgrade eligiblity to show back up after returning a phone. Thanks!

Always make sure this is reset before leaving the store. But a simple call to customer service should get it fixed right away.

  • After upgrading to FF4 all internet sites return "Unable to connect" and IE now returns an equivalent message. Thunderbird and Ping both work properly however.

    Have uninstalled and reinstalled FF4
    uninstalled FF4 and IE
Tried to install IE 8 - failed due to working browser unavailable to download updates - duh
    installed IE7 still no joy
    installed FF3.6.16 same message
turned off firewall (no proxy used) still no joy
ping and email continue to work as normal

I have what sounds like a very similar issue.
I had my Denon 3312ci working perfectly with Airplay from my 2013 iMac running iTunes. Upgraded to iTunes 11.1.3, and now when I attempt to Airplay direct from iTunes to the 3312, it plays for about half a second and then stops. Displayed on the Amp then says "Assigning Network". The amp starts dropping ping packets at this point. About 15-20 seconds later the pings start coming back, but no Airplay.
I tried different network cables, resetting the microprocessor, a different switch, changing between DHCP and static IP. Was about to make a warranty call to Denon, when I thought maybe I should try Airplaying directly from iphone and ipad. Much to my surprise, it worked from those devices.
I prefer to use my iMac to Airplay rather than ipad/iphone as I found I got next to no audio drop outs using it that way (they are both using wired network), where as ipad/iphone occasionally would get a moment of silence in the middle of a song.
My network set up is fine. I can use internet radio and connect to DLNA services fine on the amp. It is just airplay between iTunes 11.1.3 and the amp where the issue lies.
No fixes as yet, but I have logged a support call with Denon Australia to see what they say.

  • Since upgrading to ios7.02 both safari and chrome browsers crash when I go to a page with the html5 music player on it.  It did not in the older system.  It is too bad I cannot return to the older system.

What can be done?  Can I return to the older system? Bob

The "MySearchDial" app needs to be removed in 4 places.
    1) Go to "add / remove programs" in your windows control panel select mysearchdial and remove it.
    2) Open your Firefox browser then click the Firefox tab at the top left and select options. You will need to change the start page settings back to your preferred start page.
    3) Again under the Firefox tab select "add-ons". In the add-ons manager you will need to remove mysearchdial from both "plugins" and "extensions"
    4) In your search bar (top right of address bar" use the drop down menu and select "manage search engines". You can restore your preferred search engine and remove mysearchdial from the menu.
This should remove all the components of the nuisance hijacker and restore your browser back to your preferred settings. If you are comfortable with a more in depth removal I would also suggest going to your "programs" folder within the "C" drive of your machine and deleting the "MySearchDial" folder altogether. However, only do this AFTER you have uninstalled it from your system and if you are familiar with this type of removal.

  • If I upgrade to PS CC, can I return to CS6 after the year has expired

I suspect I wont want to go back, but am concerned that I may want to if the monthly charge goes up dramatically.
If I can return, will I be able to upen files created in CC in CS6 (obviously without being able to use the new features)
    Thanks
    Fred

Your chances are increased if you have "maximize PSD compatibility" turned on, but it does result in larger files.
Still, when you open a newer version file in older version, the new features of Photoshop will not carry over when the file is opened in an older version that did not contain these features. If the file is edited and saved from the older version, the unsupported features are discarded.

  • Should I upgrade to a MBP? and what about these crashes?

Right, so I bought a macbook about a week ago, and I'm just not sure if I should upgrade to a MB Pro or not?
I'm not a huge gamer, the only game I can think of playing on XP is Flight Simulator X, which does need a good video card, but I haven't played any games for 6 months or so, so I don't think that justifies getting a MBP.
Other than that, how is XP performance on the Core 2 Duo macbook? Does the integrated graphics cause problems? I suppose it is just like any XP laptop you can buy nowadays, as most of them also come with integrated graphics.
The only thing that does make me feel like getting a MBP, however, is that this thing is a bit too happy to ramp up the fans sometimes. I'm thinking this is because of the integrated graphics? Am I wrong about this? I noticed that the fan came on easily in the following scenarios:
    1. Playing Macbreak Weekly H.264 video podcast fullscreen within iTunes 7. If not fullscreen, the fan doesn't come on. BTW, I noticed VLC plays this a lot smoother than iTunes. I don't know if VLC makes the fans come on though.
    2. Running iEatBrainz (a rosetta version). the fan came on while it was scanning my music collection, maybe this isn't related to integrated graphics?
    3. Playing an HD trailer, the fans come on. If this is due to integrated graphics then isn't this a future problem when there will be more HD around to play? the fan coming on all the time will be very annoying. I'm not really going to be playing heavy HD anytime soon though, but in the future it might be an issue.
Two other separate problems I hope you guys can help me with:
    Problem 1:
It has crashed 3 times in the past week.
Crash 1: I think this was due to VirtueDesktops and trying to use an external display at the same time. Basically the WindowServer crashed and I lost the Apple menu and right-side clock and stuff. The dock was there and I could click on icons but nothing would launch. I had to force a shutdown by holding down the power button.
Crash 2: Once again I think this is due to the external display. I was connected to the external display when I put the computer to sleep and it hung, the display was still on the external monitor but I couldn't click on any menus or dock so I had to force shutdown.
Crash 3: Just 2 days ago I disconnected from the external display and was using it on the couch when I closed the lid because I had something to do and as i walked away I heard the startup apple sound! It had restarted just because I closed the lid! That was really odd.
Before I close this problem off, though I must add that I initially used this laptop w/o an external display and keyboard+mouse for 3 days straight without any problems. I also did a hardware test (extended) and everything is fine. So I think 10.4.8 and external display + USB might be broken?
Just in case, I have reinstalled the whole OS a day ago and so far with multiple sleep cycles and doing normal work (not connected to external stuff) it is just fine so I don't think there is a hardware issue.
    Problem 2:
The other problem with the Macbook is that the button on the trackpad is just slightly sort of off-balance? I can make it move forward/backward vertically if I trace my finger vertically across it, is this normal? Sometimes if I click on the left hand side, it sort of gets stuck but immediately comes back up, so it's not a huge problem but annoying nonetheless. Does this warrant me getting a replacement unit? Could the button just stop working in the future, and then they have to replace the whole top casing don't they? Note that this happens only sometimes, and is hard to reproduce if I try to do it manually, it just happens *once in a while* but the button does work properly and everything and the right side of the trackpad is just fine.
Other than this the laptop is fine, and I simply don't have the budget to pay for a MBP right now but I've been waiting to get a mac for so long now that I just don't want to return this and wait a few more months ...
White 2.0 Ghz Macbook Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

you are right, the macbook has endured multiple sleep/wake cycles now, and i finally plugged in a USB mouse yesterday and it still seems fine. The touchpad button is still a little loose however.
As for the extended test, I did that and there are no problems, so what do I do now?
I have decided against upgrading for now, and I don't want to go to the hassle of taking it all the way down to the apple store, but even more stories today of macbook cases slightly warped after time and cracks appearing also scare me, how common is this? Or is it just careless users who might have dropped the macbook?
If this case bending or warping or cracking and ramping up fans is common, I might as well save all my money and return it. I don't want to argue with Apple later on about fixing things, I've read horror stories there as well ...
and yes, I'm in a forum where people only post problems but there seems to be too many, or am I wrong?

  • Upgraded Online from CS to PS4 and PS4 Keeps CRASHING

Well I decided against better judgement to "upgrade" from CS as the RAW plugins did not support one of my cameras. (5D)
Well now after I downloaded the PS4 Upgrade install, everytime I go to work on an image, PS4 just up and closes. No messages at all.
Also as an upgrade, I now have both CS AND PS4 on my machine. Is that correct??
Tried phone help 2 seperate times but after 2 hours i gave up.
    Please help with any suggestions.

Appreciate the info. Good to know that CS  and CS4 together are OK. I do wish there were clear instructions to download. (Instead of having to "search" all over for help. All good.
PS4 still crashing and dumping my work but I found that as long as I keep my image edits down to 4 or 5, I shut down PS4 and then restart it again each time. Seems to work Ok that way. Image files are around 12 to 25 mb so maybe on the edge of it's capabilitys.
Although CS ran like a champ, PS4 seems to be a nice system if I can wok out all the bugs.
(I sure I hope I can in the next 30 days... Otherwise I will be returning PS4 and will figure out another way to pull down RAW files from a Canon 5D)
Great Forum and will use again.

Trusteer software has caused many issues for Mac users with Safari as noted from the results of an ASC Trusteer / Rapport search here >  Community Search: Apple Support Communities
Uninstall Rapport (Trusteer)  >> Uninstalling Rapport on Mac OS X | Support
Restart your Mac after the Trusteer software is uninstalled.
If the Mac generaes another kernel panic, McAfee is problematic and has also caused kernel panics for Mac users. Check the McAfee site for uninstall instructions.
The ab.k.engine, botht spsys.drivers, logmein, and BlackBerryUSB are problematic, but I'd start with removing Trusteer first.
If you want to have aniti virus sofware installed, download and install ClamXav but best to not install any software at all until the kernel panics stop.
ClamXav is free and Mountain Lion v10.8 compatible.

  • After upgrading to iOS 5 the actual phone app keeps crashing

Updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 yesterday. Everything seems to work fine, it seems, except the actual phone app.
When I click it to make a call it immediately crashes and goes back to the home screen.
I was able to make a call by calling out of the address book but the screen was blank. At the top I got the green bar saying "Touch to return to call" and when I clicked on it I'd see the regular phone stuff you'd expect to see for a split second before the screen went back to black with the green bar at the top.
I was unable to end the call without turning the phone off.
I can receive calls and everything works fine until I answer the call. I'm able to talk with no problems but I get the same problem described above when actually looking at the phone.
I have tried turning the phone off and also hard resets but nothing works.
Anybody know what's wrong or how to fix?
    Thanks,
    d.

Clearing all the apps out of the multitask tray followed by a hard reset appears to have solved the problem.

  • After upgrading to OS lion 10.8.2 my macbook crashed when upgrading iPhoto, Aperture and MS Office. has anyone simular problems?

since I did an upgrade yesterday (sept 20th 12) my macbook crashed and does an autoantic restart when doing a upgrade. It occurs doing so for iPhoto, MSoffice or Aperture.
Can someone help me on this issue?

My late 2009 13" Macbook is now very laggy. For example, the cursor won't respond until many seconds after I place a finger on the touchpad. When I use the keyboard to increase or decrease volume or screen brightness, there is a noticeable lag between my inputs and what I see. Every time I pause between typing words, I find the keyboard won't respond until I wait a few more seconds. This is very disappointing. I need to roll back until Apple are able to look into any potential issues. I didn't have any such problems prior to upgrade.

  • After upgrade to iOS 8.3 screen reader in iBooks crashes

It happened on my iPhone 4S and iPad Air today After an upgrade.
When in iBooks, screen reader reads the page on the screen, finishes reading the text, turns the page but gives up (crashes?) immediately after. the reader "toolbar" simply disappears.
Before the upgrade it would turn the page and continue reading. Not anymore.
google doesn't seem to know anything about this.
Can anyone else confirm the behaviour? I tried it on several PDFs - the same behaviour.

Your observation is right. I am facing the same issue after upgrading to iOS 8.3. The trial and error was common with Microsoft .. it seems Apple is catching up with MS .
I hope they address this issue quickly.

  • Upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.5.0 crashes

Upon receiving my highly anticipated upgrade DVD, I attempted to upgrade my mbp 3,1 15".
All went well at first, the progress bar moved steadily and it shut down and rebooted once. Not long after this, with the progress bar about 34% complete, I got the following message (slightly paraphrased):
Snow Leopard can not be installed on this computer. Please contact the manufacturer.
I've done some googling and people with dirty or unreadable disks get a kinder "please clean the DVD and try again" error message, haven't found anyone posting who's gotten the somewhat harsher error message above.
I then got the snow leopard boot options screen, tried installing from DVD, and it told me it was unable write to the laptop's HD. I know there are some filesystem changes in snow leopard so figured perhaps the safest thing to do was to restore to 10.5.8 using my time machine backup (which was only a couple hours old).
Any insight on the cause of this error would be helpful. Could be a bad (but readable) DVD, bad blocks on the HD perhaps?, something wrong with my mbp (though it's 100% solid, never crashes, etc), or just bad luck - an alpha particle at an inconvenient time or whatever.

    Two things:
    How is the disk formatted?
Do you have enough free disk space?
Launch Disk Utility and select the Disk - not the "Macintosh HD"
Look at the bottom for "Partition Map Scheme"
If it's APM, you need to reformat the drive in GUID.
You'll obviously need to backup all your data first.
