Upgrade To Qicktime 7.1.3, then internet videos don't play. Help!!!
the title explains it all. I upgraded to the newest quicktime. But when i went online to look at movies and other video files, it just shows white. Everything else is fine besides that. Weird. Help?
Since I have upgraded to QuickTime 7.1.3, Safari is prone to hanging when it tries to load the QuickTime plugin to play MPEGs off of the Internet. It appears to fall into an "infinite loop" since it ***** (hmmm... it appears that I am being censored, which is pretty funny since I am using the offending word in a completely inoffensive manner; BTW, the offending word means "to draw in by creating a vacuum") up almost all available processor time until I kill Safari. When viewed in Activity Monitor, the percentage of processor time being used by Safari hovers around 120% (i.e. 60% for each processor) and Safari is labelled "Not responding".
Sometimes if I try to view the same video after killing and restarting Safari, it works; other times I get the same problem. In any event, unless Apple comes up with a fix within a matter of days, I will attempt to revert to the previous version (which if you believe the release notes for QuickTime 7.1.3 contained various vulnerabilities, but somehow still managed to work much better than 7.1.3 does).

Several problems continuous since first installing Firefox. I recently upgraded to Flash Player 11.4x and now videos will not play in Yahoo.
I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3 and Internet Explorer 8 on an x86 pc. Everything worked just fine until the upgrade. Also Hulu.com free version videos don't work properly in full screen mode. Not sure whether that is related.

Let me give you my latest observations:
Until today, I had not even heard of a reference to 'HTML5' videos. (I now realize that HTML videos have been around for quite a while, I'm just not a video junkie.) And interestingly, until today, whenever I got a blank video screen on Yahoo News or others, it would only tell me to update to the latest Flash Player and suggested nothing else.
Well, I had already upgraded to the latest version Flash Player mentioned above, but my system does not seem to recognize that fact. Perhaps it did not load properly. I have tried 4 times without (apparent) success.
Now also, the blank video screens mention updating to a 'HTML5 browser'. I have Internet Explorer 8, not 9 or above, so I opted to install Google Chrome Frame per the article (which also indicates that this is a trial situation). I rebooted and retried, but that did not work either.
I have not yet uninstalled Flash Player to rule it out as causing the HTML5 problem.
I also did not disable Hardware Acceleration in Flash per the article because nothing showed up in the box to click on. Blank box, no icon.
I had previously tried to download an archived Flash .zip file to my desktop but could not get it to unzip and install properly (I have done this many times before on other files), so I gave up.
And, lastly, just what exactly do you mean about 'browser updates'? Are you refering to a 'version' of Internet Explorer 8 or to other software updates?

Youtube videos don't play after upgrading from 3.x to 4.0.1.

The youtube page loads completely but the video never starts.
Firefox displays the page like its done downloading the video, but no video.

I seem to have experienced the same problem, after applying the APEX 4.0.2 patch, my theme produced errors on the new type of date picker. I use the Bravo theme.
I am now trying to purchase the Delta theme, but unfortunately I see today on the Apex-Themes website that the themes are not available to purchase anymore.
Did you manage to resolve your issue? And do you maybe by any chance know where I can get hold of the Delta theme now?

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

When i upgraded from 9.2.3 to 9.3.1 I had migration issues, where most my photos ended up in a restored event called restored photos. But then they don't come up in faces anymore. So can i upgrade to 9.3.2 and then just rebuild my photo library ? I want to upgrade to mountain lion. But concered about my photo library. So I restored my whole computer back to an earlier date, becuase I couldn't figure out how to restore just my photo library. Advice?
Best way is to restore your backup from before the problem, rebuild it and update it again

I upgraded to 20gb iCloud but it isn't enough to back up. I get constant error messages saying there is no backup space and I've not been able to use the upgrade. Apple promised to refund then didn't. Please help is there anyway I can use this space?If you were told they would refund the price for the iCloud storage - Contact AppleCare and ask to speak with a senior advisor. Have the case number for the promised refund available.
If you are trying to update your device, but you don't have sufficient space to download and install the update, you need to delete content from your device. Buying storage in iCloud does not add space to the device which is what you need.
You can always update using a computer with iTunes installed - this method is faster, and will allow you to make a backup on the local computer (Local backups restore faster than iCloud backups).

PRANAJI'm running iOS 5 on my 3GS, and it runs fine, granted it's not as fast as a 4 or 4S, but it will still run fine.

iPhoto needs to be upgraded everytime I open it. Then it finds consistences. Then it repairs the database.
I have also rebuilt the database many times useing command + alt.
Now it shows every event three times. If I delete one version of that event, it deletes them all.
Then next time I open iPhoto it needs updateing and repairing again
I have used disk utility to repair permissionsDownload iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
I was downloading the lastest ipad upgrade when the screen went black then appeared an itunes logo with a connecter cable leading to it. I have fully charged and have switched on and off but same still appears.

upgraded to IOS5, now music not working right. displayed song not playing, plays 4,5 songs and stops although it appears that it is playing. Cycled pwr,didn't work. tried resyncing, same thing.Help?
I have an iPhone 4 and ever since I upgraded to iOS5 i've got the same problem. Apple need to release a patch as there's no way of fixing this unless we downgrade our phones back to iOS4 which would just suck!
I often shut the music app down and start again but even then the artwork doesn't match the song playing and will only play a few songs. It's frustrating when you're driving or going for a run, having to pull over or stop and sort it out.
We'll have to wait for Apple to bring out a patch unfortunately. -
when i am suppose to upgrade my apps it starts and then halfway though it stops and tells me to keep retrying but it never finished the upgrade
reboot your phone then restart the app updates again. This usually fixes the problem. Also if you have a lot of updates it will try to do too many at once. tap the ones that are downloading and pause all but two at a time. As soon as thoughs go into the installing unpause the next two. If you have too many going at once then during the install it takes too long before it starts the next download on itunes will require a password again so it stops all the update in the middle. The other work around is to update one at a time in the app store instead of hitting the update all button.

Can I upgrade to OS X Lion, and then reformat my computer with the OS X CD? Because if I reformating my mac with the regualr OS X CD, would that erase the Lion? Since I just donwloading the Lion, and don't really have a CD for it.
If you install Lion then erase the drive that will erase Lion. To purchase and download Lion you must first install Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later to access the App Store where you purchase and download the Lion installer. You might read this before:
Make Your Own Lion Installer
1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that you can use without having to re-download Lion.
