Upgrade version question

Okay, on Apple's website they offer the upgrade to dreamweaver CS3, BUT it doesn't say that the upgrade includes GoLive 6. So... is this the same software or is there special software for GoLive 6 users to get the upgrade? The reason I ask is, I want to use my Apple account to purchase the software and they don't list the GL to DWCS3 upgrade software.

From what I can tell, it's a separate item you'd need to purchase specifically for the GL to DW upgrade (I guess to compare serials against on install). It's a separate item on Adobe's store site.

Installing CS5 Upgrade version in a "clean"machine"

REASON: I just ordered the base hardware of a new system I7 - 64 bit OS etc.....
I do not intend to load CS4 into it at all because I want a really clean machine from the get go with CS5 and I do not want to uninstall CS4 from my current system at all. It needs to keep working while I break in CS5 and the new system.
QUESTION: I wonder what process will be involved when installing an Upgrade Version of CS5 in a brand new machine that wont have CS4 installed at all. Usually the S/W goes looking for an installed qualifying version. Because of the move to brand new systems and hardware in this release...I expect many users apart from me, will need to know this.
This question is a little premature but I am getting prepared and it will be worth knowing at some point..
We wont see CS5 down here in New Zealand for a little time after the U.S guys get it I suspect on past history. This is not a bad thing actually.

Often (sadly, not always) an upgrade will allow you to install by (1) putting a previous disc in the drive or (2) entering the previous install key
If nobody answers before you receive your install discs, those are the 2 things you could try

Photoshop Elements 10 Upgrade Version

I hope this isn't a silly question, but I've been unable to find an answer elsewhere.
I've never owned any Photoshop products at all before, and my wife bought me PS Elements 10 Upgrade version yesterday.
Our belief was that PSE10 UV was just the most recent version of Elements, but when the package arrived it says on it 'to install this upgrade successfully you will need a licenced copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements' which of course, we don't have.
Is it just me being daft or is that worded slightly ambiguously?
I just don't know whether the box contains PS E 10 that' can work as a new standalone new product or as an upgrade on previous versions' or whether it can only be used as an upgrade to a previous version of Elements..?
I don't want to open the packaging in case I end up having to send it back and replace with different version...

An upgrade version of a product is the full product, but it's license requires a previous version. The idea is that you already own a previous version, so you can buy an "upgrade" version at a reduced cost. When you install, the full product is installed, it does not piggy-back on a previous installation. However, when you license the product, by entering your serial number, an upgrade verification will take place. It will automatically check your computer for a qualifying product already installed. If that cannot be found, it will ask you to enter the serial number from your previous version.
As you do not have a previous version, you will not be able to pass the upgrade verification, which means you will not be able to license your copy of Photoshop Elements for use on this computer. You will have access to a 30-day free trial, but after that your product would cease to operate.
You should return this product for a full retail copy rather than an upgrade version.

Installing Photoshop Elements 11 with an upgrade version

Michael it is not necessary to install the previous version. You can enter the previous versions serial number as part of the installation process for Photoshop Elements 11 instead.

had to delete my hard drive and start anew. I reinstalled my old CS2 and to start it would not let ne register it and now it won't let new use my CS3 upgrade. can anyone help

What To Do When Upgrading Version of The App

I' ve a BB App based on QNX. While upgrading version, BB World gave the following warning, although i' ve upgraded the version parameter in bar-descriptor.xml and in the name of bar file:
File bundle (udts_sistek-2_0_3_1.bar) has been rejected. Package ID is required for all .bar file. If this is an upgrade, Package ID must match Package ID in original file bundle.
Because of i haven' t got any keys which i used them to sign the previous release, i suppose that the only way is uploading new release as new application. Am i right?
In addition what do i need for the next upgrade? Is backup file ('Preferences > Signing' in Momentics Ide) enough?

Apple supply Samsung, Hynix, Nanya and Micron (which is Crucial) as standard, so any of these should work as if supplied by Apple. Samsung ram usually has a lifetime warranty - but it is always possible to get a faulty chip from any manufacturer. Shop around and work out the cost/benefit of buying from a 3rd party. Sometimes it pays to upgrade from 512mb to a single 1gb from Apple, sometimes it's cheaper to buy 2gb elsewhere and factor in the resale value of the original chip.

Tech Comms Suite (upgrade version)

Hi,
I am now the proud owner of the Tech Comms Suite upgrade
version 1.3. Reading the yellow slip of paper accompanying the box,
it says 'Adobe recommends that you uninstall any previous version
of Technical Communications Suite or any component of the Technical
Communications Suite... before you install Technical Communications
Suite 1.3'.
My dumb question is: if you uninstall FM or RH software, how
does the software know which is your upgrade product?
I was planning on installing the Tech Comms Suite on another
computer temporarily, until I get used to the new UI, and thought I
would have to uninstall FM (seeing as I want to continue using RH
on my own pooty) and install it onto the same PC where I want to
install TCS. However, now it seems I don't have to. Is it just a
case of entering a qualifying serial number somewhere in the
upgrade installation? Has anyone here upgraded to TCS and can shed
some light please?

Thanks Peter and Vivek for your replies. When I bought it
from the Adobe website I chose the upgrade from one product option
(not upgrading from TCS v1.0) and I did indeed I receive two disks.
The install trundles through. At the end it asks if I want to
open an application. Of course I do because I want to play, so I
click on the relevant radio button that selects an application to
open, then click on OK, or Next, or whatever.(sorry cannot remember
actual name of button!).
I then get the screen where you choose to open the trial
version or enter the serial number. So I select the relevant radio
button and enter the serial number from the TCS box. I then click
OK, or Next, or whatever and then I get a popup error saying that
my serial number is not valid.
Technical Support have confirmed that it is a valid serial
number. I searched the forum and found there may be conflict with
Acrobat, but the computer where I installed the TCS did not have
Acrobat installed prior to installing TCS. I get the error message
when I enter the serial number for RH, FM and CP. I can open
Acrobat (as that didn't ask for the serial number) but I haven't
tried opening or creating a PDF file.
In other words, I don't get as far as entering the qualifying
serial number.
Does anyone have any ideas for me to try please? Has anyone
else experienced this when they upgraded from one product (not TCS
v1.0)?

I accidentally bought an upgrade version of Photoshop

I accidentally bought an upgrade version of Photoshop CS5, but I don't own Photoshop.
Is there anything I can do to convert it into a full version?
Do I have any options? I have looked all over and can't believe no one has asked this question yet...

Thank you. I thought I read that if I don't have an older version installed I would need to enter my serial key for the earlier version. Is this not the case?
And thanks for the warning. I had considered that risk, but the person I purchased from had a good rep on Ebay and I paid with Paypal so I figured I could easily dispute the purchase if it was fake.

Used LR5 trial version, purchased upgrade version, but don't have previous serial number

Hi guys,
Seems I have misunderstood the purchase and after my trial version expired I decided to buy the upgrade version (thought it would be the one as I already had there software downloaded and used as trial). Now I have purchased the upgrade software, but obviously I do not have the previous licence code!
How can I get it to work and pay the difference only? Or do I have to contact Adobe, cancel the upgrade version, wait for the refund and order afterwards the full version?

I think you have answered your own question. We are all just users like yourself. It seems that some people are getting confused about the upgrade version. The first time you purchase Lightroom you have to pay the full price. The trial version is actually the full version, it just has a time limiter on it. The upgrade version depends on a serial number from a previous version (i.e. Lightroom 3, Lightroom 4, etc.) as well as the serial number from the upgrade version to be activated. So it appears that you will have to negotiate with Adobe customer support to resolve your problem.

Installing InDesign upgrade versions and serial numbers on new computer

I have a brand new iMac with a clean install of Yosemite. I want to install several versions of InDesign in order to be able to work in whatever version my clients use.
I am planning to install CS5, CS5.5, and CS6. I understand the need to install the oldest version first and to proceed upward, and that I will need to install Java beforehand for the earlier versions.
My question is regarding serial numbers to activate these installs. I have used InDesign since the day it came out (InDesign version 1 - full purchase). All the versions since have been upgrades. So, when I go to start CS5, what serial will it want? My previous CS4 or the CS5 one, and so on?
I'm trying to avoid installation failures where I have to run cleaner and reinstall -- I want to do it correctly from the start. I am confused about whether the upgrade versions will be looking for the original full purchase, which is ancient and not on the computer.

First off, anything earlier than CS6 is unsupported. That out of the way.
If CS5 was an upgrade, you’ll need its serial as well as the serial of the qualifying product. You’ll be prompted for the qualifying product after you enter the serial for CS5.
Lather…rinse…repeat for 5.5 and 6 but those installers should see the earlier one that’s been installed.

Installing CS4 Design Standard, upgrade version

Hi everyone, I have a question about the installation process of (the upgrade version of) CS4 Design Standard; the operating system of my PC is Windows XP Pro (SP3), as up-to-date as possible ;)
The version of CS I'm currently using is CS2 Premium.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but am I right in assuming I can install CS4 without removing (or hampering!) my current installation?
(If this is indeed true, I would be rather pleased. I need the new Camera Raw (as the upcoming EOS 5D Mk II isn't supported by version 4.x), but I'm currently working on a large project involving Photoshop & Illustrator -- and I *definitely* do not want to change versions half-way through.)
One thing worries me the most -- what about Acrobat? CS2 came with version 7, but I have read that Acrobat isn't as well-behaved as the 'proper' CS products.

Just install it. CS2 won't be touched but you'll be prompted to allow
the installer to uninstall Acrobat 7.

What is the difference between a full and a upgrade version?

When I want to buy photoshop elements 8.0 i can select a full or upgrade version, the price is alsmost thesame.
normally you would think a upgrade is just a upgrade and you can't use it if you don't already have photoshop Elements installed.
but in many online stores they only sell the upgrade version.
so that makes me believe you can buy it even tho you don't have any photoshop elements on your pc.
so what is the difference?

The only difference between the Upgrade and Full version is of the pricing. I believe right now Adobe is already offering PSE at $79 so there is no Upgrade option appearing on the website (although I am not sure about unavailability, I just stating what one of the user on the forum says).
Legally, you should be a previous customer of PSE to buy an upgrade version and I am not sure but I believe when one go for buying the Upgrade version they do need to provide the serial number of the previous verison.(not sure though)

Upgraded version of edge won't allow Muse to read my .oam file

A consultant created the site for us. I am taking it live, but when I opened the Safty.an file to change a hyperlink he got wrong and edit the text, I was forced to save the .oam file into a newer upgraded version. After this, even if I don't make any edits to the hyperlink or text, and just save to the new upgraded version, the .oam file won't load in Muse. If I use the previous .oam file, it will. Please help, it seems like it it something clear or obvious, but nothing seems to be working. It's not a good idea to allow websites to redirect to another site until you know for sure the original site is trustworthy.
But if you still want to do it (again not a good idea).
Tools>Options>Advanced>General - In Accessibility, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect..." option.
