i`m going to upgrade an nforce system but don`t know which cpu i should buy.
i`m looking for these
athlon xp 3000+ 333fsb ~120€
athlon xp 3000+ 400fsb ~140€
athlon xp 3200+ 400fsb ~160€
athlon XP 2600+ mobile 266fsb =exactly 89€
with overclocking in mind with which one i could build the fastes rig?
i don`t know much about amd cpu`s so please help me!

i am still waitin for my ram and a gotta buy a better cpu cooler,but i can tell u that my cpu runs perfect (one night long prime95 torture test) @ 11x200 1,65v
(btw i luckily got 2 cpu`s with idyha stepping for 89€)
i didn`t try to upper the vcore because of my cpu cooler of xp 1700+...it`s copper/alu with a 60x60 fan and keeps my mobile @ max 55° under full load,but anyway i am afraid to go any higher!
as this is my second rig,i don`t want to spent much money on it ...
i keep my eyes open for a zalman 7000cu which i also have on my p4!or u suggest any better cooler for this price??
or are the temps fine??
and how much vcore is safe for the mobiles?
what is a realistic fsb goal to reach with nforce2??would u say 210-220 or even any higher?

FileVault stalled/failed at 80% after upgrade to Yosemite and choosing to use Filevault

Since upgrade to Yosemite and choosing to use FileVault which has been 10 days now, FileVault keeps saying estimating time remaining. I have run diskutil cs list multiple times and sometimes it says 80% complete and other times it says failed. I've also run EtreCheck multiple times and sometimes it says converting and other times it says failed. System running slow or low on memory since upgrade also. I have a MacBook Pro 15" early 2011, 2 GHz Intel Cor i7, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and here is my last EtreCheck report.

The update could not have degraded your clips in any way. There is simply no mechanism for that to happen at all. When viewing the updated timelines, click on the Viewer to select is, Shift-Z will "fit to window". Be sure you're not viewing them larger than you did before. Also, delete all render files.
The only other thing I can think of, is that your hardware is older and Yosemite is taxing it. FCPX will degrade image quality so it can get smoother playback on occasions. But when you stop playback and are parked on a single frame, you'll see the full resolution. This could be happening also. What are your Mac's specs?
BTW, video noise is very, very difficult to get rid of. You can improve it, but short of something like the very expensive (and very long rendering) Neat Video plugin, video noise is something you mostly live with, if it is too drastic in the image.

The DC7800 SFF was not designed to run modern games. Modern games for most situations would require a graphics card and a supporting power supply of 400-600 watts which is not available for your PC. Another factor is the dimm speed in your PC which is inherently slow for video processing.

I am looking to upgrade my seemingly weak CPU so that my laptops performance may be noticeably improved, for things such as gaming. I have an HP Pavilion dv6-6b08sa Notebook PC, running a Windows 7 64-bit Operating System.

I understand you want to upgrade your CPU is the correct? I will try and provide you the information that you need.
This document will provide you a list of processors available for this unit. Now because you have AMD installed originally, and you're using the same motherboard you will have to continue to use AMD.
If you turn to page 85 there is a list of processors, the part numbers are there as well to help your search. Also, if you plan on doing the work on your own the instructions on how to replace the processor is shown there as well.

Upgrading K300 CPU

I'm trying to find any kind of motherboard information on upgrading the CPU to a quad core, but have run into some bad luck in trying to find the board specs on "how far" I can make an upgrade.
What I have found so far is the board number 11010918. I think the CPU matches with a socket 775 but not certain.
Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

the cost of getting a 775 quad and getting a new mobo and cpu is about £50 which would bring the rig right upto date, if it was me i would be looking into this rather than buying an out dated socket cpu

BSOD After Upgrade of CPU & Windows 7

I wanted to get the Max out of my Laptop (3000 N200 AUU 0769). I upgraded my CPU from Intel T2330 to T9500 (Fastest for GM965 Chipset) put in 4gb of PC 6400 (800mhz) Ram and put in a 750 gb Seagate Momentus XT Hard Drive and installed Windows XP 64bit & Windows 7 64bit. I dual Boot Windows XP 64bit (No BSOD) and Windows 7 64bit and I only get a random BSOD in Windows 7 which states Hardware Error 0x000000124. I've tried & tried to locate the driver which is causing it to no avail, it's ALWAYS a random BSOD. I've updated all the drivers (I was told it could be a BIOS problem). So I'm presenting my problem here in the Lenovo Community for suggestions. Any will help if it will solve the BSOD. Thanks!

Can you try to:
1. Run Windows Update on the Win7 system to get the latest patch and bug fixes
2. Run BlueScreenView and check what app or file is causing the BSOD
3. Run a system stability test using Passmark's BurnInTest to check your hardware for consistency.

See a a version compable with your iPod is available:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
Also, if you have iOS 6.1.6 yo have a 4G (has cameras). A 3G does not have cameras and can only go to 5.1.1

What version of iPhoto are you using? 9.6 is the current version.
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

our company want to buy new computers for the developers.
We have to use Windows XP as our OS because of third party products.
We develop J2SE + J2EE.
So my question:
Which CPU should we use?
I searched at google but didn't found any usefull sides about benchmarking an J2SE VM or J2EE VM.
Intel or AMD?
Are there some issues to be regarded?
Is the behavior of the VM different if you use an Intel or an AMD? (X86)
Our AppServer is JBoss 3.2.3.
Has Intel ore AMD some magic improvements for the SUN Java VM?
Any answer would be appreciated.

utilize multi-processors? And how is this done? Threads parceled out?
Using what algorithms? Are there "best practices" for writing code
that can exploit these chips?
Given the recent emergence of dual-core processors from both AMD and
Intel I would think Sun would have a white paper on this, but I've not
been able to find anything.
As I'm about to build a new system, and am looking at a dual processor
board that could take two dual-core chips, I'd really like to know.
