Upgrade WL7 SP2 to SP5

Hi,
I wish to upgrade our WL7 instance from SP2 to SP5 by applying the SP5 upgrade.
As we have many clients that connect to us via T3 and they all have the weblogic7
SP2 jar in their classpath, would their be any compatbilities issues between SP2
and SP5.
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
You can checkout the following link which has some more info on this topic.
http://edocs/wls/docs70/compatibility/compatibility.html
Even though it mentions about t3 being supported between 61 and 70, it also
implies that its supported between SPs too IMHO.

  • Upgrading WLS 8.1 SP2 to SP5: does SSL setup need to be re-done?

    All,
Our production application has been built using Workshop 8.1 SP2, and is deployed on a WLS 8.1 SP2. We are now wanting to upgrade to SP5, and so I used the "Smart Update" utility to upgrade my local instance to SP5. Our application is accessed over SSL, so I was wondering if the whole SSL-setup that was done when we setup our production SP2 environment a year ago needs to be re-done? Our application has a web module, two java projects, uses SSL-based web-services and has a custom Oracle JAAS login module. I already found out that there is a particular setting on the domain that has changed between SP2 and SP5 that allows anonymous lookup of MBeans(Anonymous Admin Lookup Enabled). Are there any other such settings/considerations i need to be aware of in moving from SP2 to SP5?
All help is appreciated..it will help me decide on moving to SP5.
    Thanks in advance!
    Vik.

    Hi Vik
When you use smartupdate to upgrade from sp2 to sp5, it will upgrade only the weblogic workshop instance and not the domains.
Either you will have to upgrade the existing sp2 domain to sp5 or create a new sp5 domain and configure it just like sp2.
After the upgrade open the config.xml under the new domain and check the SSL config under the server just to make sure.As far as the SSL config is concerned it did not change from sp2 to sp5.
More information on this is available at

  • Proxy upgrade from SP1 to SP5 doesn't work anymore for virus scanning.

Upgraded from SP1 to SP5 and the virus scanning updates no longer work. No changes have been made it is a complete carbon copy using the migrate button. No ip addresses have been altered nor has the ports been changed. I've tried SP2, 3 & 4 and they too fail with a 504 error log. I turned SP1 back on and it works first time.
If you can solve this I'll be so impressed because its driving me crazy. I've checked all config files and everything is as it should be.

    Hi
This thread was interesting as I have many customer sites using virus scanning without any problems together with this proxy.. Some sites are really huge as well.
Can the author of this thread explain how the scanning that now refuse to work is done with the proxyserver... Through an API or as forwarded requests to another scanning proxy (trend micro etc.) or what ? Maybe this is done in some way I am not aware of. Then I am really interested in your problem.
We mostly use it "user->proxy->vscanner->site" where the proxy and the scanner often run at the same host. This in huge installations together with load balancers infront and behind.

  • Weblogic 6.1 server upgrade from SP2 to SP3

    Hi All
We have weblogic server 6.1 SP2 installed on the solaris machine. Now we
have to upgrade our weblogic server 6.1 SP3. We also have downloaded the installable.
But that installable seems to over-write the previous weblogic server & installs
the server afresh. Is there any patch kinda thing available which allows me to
    upgrade from SP2 to SP3 ? I don't want a fresh new install of SP3 server.
    thanks in advance

Upgrade installer from SP2 to SP3 is only available for paid BEA
customers. You need a login at http://support.bea.com

  • Issues after upgrading to SP2 mm: Blank page first page.

Hello, ever since upgrading to mm sp2 on .net 2008 I been having an issue.  I created a new project and everything done by the books.  When I run the report through the browser everything initially seems normal, it asks for input parameters then login info.  When the report is ready to be displayed, the page is blank but has all the Crystal toolbars and such.  If i were to perform an action like hit the zoom button, the report will magically be displayed!  It seems the viewer has an issue initially rendering the report until I hit something on the toolbar like the zoom button.  I just zoom in 100% and the report displays!  Anyone have this issue and know how to resolve it?
If I were to export this blank page to PDF, the report will be displayed on the PDF correctly.  just strange.
    Thanks in advanace.

Copy the CrytalReportViewers12 folder from your development computer to the \aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727 in the IIS default website.
If you are using ReportRefresh, comment that out.
Try a different Browser like Firefox.
Are you browsing from the work station or from the Server? Can you try it from the Server?
Try a new test app. Run a saved data report (Crviewer1.reportsource). Do not use sessions or postbacks. Does this test app work?

  • No Sound after upgrade XP SP2

    Hi,
I have a MSI 865pe neo2-P motherboard, the sound used to work fine with win XP sp1 and with my ATI all-in-wonder (vga, tv, line in input).
Now since the upgrade to XP SP2, I have no sound from any windows program, it does not capture sound on line in when I record movies and there is no sound from audio-cds (even if i connect the jack to the cd-drive).
In the display drivers the AC 97 device is working properly,  but if i try to raise the sound volume meter, ther is no normal sound, only the annoying PC speaker error beep. If I try to play mp3 files there is an error. In volume control there is no item muted.
I have tried every different settings: hearphones, audio driver versions, safe bios settings, unplugged other devices (cd-rom etc).  I also upgraded to the latest realtec AC 97 driver:  5.10.0.5770 (wdm_a368)
Are you having the same problem? How can my PC have sound again?
    best regards,
    joaquim.

Try to look at the system properties for conflicts or driver problems. Try to download an updated driver on your sound device too.

  • Group Policy upgrade to SP2 problem

    Hi guys,
We are having the following issue. We have upgraded our XP group policy to SP2. Now each time users login, the first thing they see is a 'restrictions' window saying "this operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer."
I wonder how I can figure out which group policy setting is causing this? The same policy worked when the policy was an SP1 policy, but once updated to SP2 it will give that error message. Thank you.

  • Upgrade XIR2 SP2 to XIR3

    Hi,
we are planning an upgrade from XIR2 Sp2 to XIR3 SP3. I've read the upgrade guide which suggests that you can perform a direct upgrade on XIR2 in situ, but I've seen a number of posts where people are saying that you need to perform a clean installation of R3 and migrate all content across..The later was the approach I had planned on.
    Thanks in advance.
    Paul.

    Hi Paul,
In my humble opinion, whenever you perform a major upgrade, you should always create a brand new instance of the system database (a.k.a. CMS database) for the new installation. After the installation is completed, you can migrate the contents over using Import Wizard. I don't trust BIAR files because they are not reliable....got burned way too many times.
As far as security, XI 3.1 is different from XI R2, especially on inheritance. The best practice is to rebuild security from the ground up in XI 3.1. I have done that myself and it is not that hard (even though we have 20,000+ users in the system). I have written a blog on upgrade and you can find it on http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/19997. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
By the way, the current version is not called R3. SAP is trying to avoid any confusion because R3 is also the name of an ERP product. Therefore, the current version of SAP BusinessObjects is simply called XI 3.1.
    Hope this helps.

  • Any known issues with SCOM 2007 R2 after upgrading to SP2 for SQL 2008 R2 ?

Are there any known or reported issues in SCOM 2007 R2 after installing SP2 for SQL server 2008 R2 ?  Currently running RTM version of SQL Server 2008 R2.

    Hi There,
As a testing purpose long time back i did this. I did this step by step
I installed SCOM 2007R2 with SQL server 2008 with SP1 initially.
    Then upgraded to 2008 SP2.
    Then upgraded to 2008 SP3
    Then upgraded to 2008 R2.
    Then upgraded to 2008 R2 SP1
    Finally to SP2
    I dint find any issue.
I just kept on adding service packs upon each other. Except for upgradation to 2008 to 2008 r2 i used the installation media then the SP1 & SP2 files. to upgrade to service packs.
If you want to go to directly SP2 i would suggest you install SP1 and then install SP2.
Every thing is fine in the LAB equipment i tried this.

  • Upgraded to SP2.  Now Crystal goes through configuration every time it is launched.

    CA Forum: Upgrading and Licensing
This morning I upgraded Crystal Report XI.  First I installed SP1, then I installed SP2.  The installation completed successfully.  However every time I launch Crystal now it goes through its configuration process before the software opens.  Once that is finished the software opens and works properly.
I should not be going through this configuration setup every time I launch the software.  How do I fix this problem?
    Thanks!

I had the same issue,  I reinstalled CR (from disk) opened and ran a test report (yes that step is important) CR does the configuration piece when you do that.  I then applied SP1 and opened a test report, and let CR do the Configuration.  Then applied SP2 and ran a test report.  All that being said, My CR XI now runs ok.
My Product version is now   11.5.8.963

The best way for downloading all needed packages I would recommend you to use solution manager. Assuming your entries for that system in SMSY are correct, then you will need to create new MOPZ transaction in tcode DSWP, then choose your system, and choose Maintenance...Continue accroding to screens...

  • Advantages of  Upgrading  Weblogic 8.1 sp5 to 10.3

    Hi
I am very much novice to the weblogic. We are planning to upgrade the weblogic 8.1sp5 version to 10.3.We need to convince the clients regarding certain issues with respect ti the upgrade.Say performance, what are the performance advantages of upgrading the weblogic from 8.1 to 10.3.
Could any body list out some major performance advantages of moving the weblogic 8.1 to 10.3

As a reference for performance, you can look at the Capacity Planning Guides for both versions of the product and do your own comparison. Note however that hardware changes between these two points in time are quite extreme.
    [WLP 8.1 Capacity Planning Guide|http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs81/capacityplanning/index.html]
    [ WLP 10.3 Capacity Planning Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/capacityplanning/index.html]
Note that there are many other reasons to upgrade, including vast improvements in functionality and the short time horizon for continued support of WLP 8.1. I don't know when support will end for that release, but it's coming in the near to mid term.

    Hi,
until CR2008 SP1, when I open a report that was formatted for an unknown printer, a messagebox is displayed with that message an I was able to edit the report and/or assign a correct printer to it.
