Upgrade ZCM 11.2.3 to 11.3 - appliance question

Hello,
we are using the ZCM 11.2 appliance with ZCM 11.2.3
we are planing to update to ZCM 11.3 and i'm not sure if it is necessary to upgrade the appliance to 11.3 (like described in the documentation, install appliance 11.3 and then migrate data from 11.2 appliance to 11.3 appliance). Or can i upgrade ZCM from 11.2.3 to 11.3 on the ZCM 11.2 appliance?
Is it possible and if yes, what is the best way - the upgrade to 11.3 appliance or use the 11.2 appliance with zcm 11.3?
Greeting and thanks!
Steffen

if we upgrade to the new 11.3 appliance we have to do this changes again, right? So it would be great if we can use the 11.2 appliance because i'm not a linux pro. The zcm documenatation is really good and the fstab file for the permanent mount for the image repo can be edit very easily but i dont know how to increase the hdd on the appliance.
Yes you need to do it again, here is the docs: https://www.novell.com/documentation...a/bnfdrww.html

If I upgrade to Mountain Lion on the computer that will install it, will my WIFI still work on the computer that cannot be upgraded? I know this is a very basic question. Trying to hold out as long as I can, but purchasing an iPhone for Christmas and new iMac next year when warrently expires.

Thank U very much for the quick reply, I wanted to upgrade this weekend, but still on the fence. I can live with the software that is not compatible, they are on another compuetr, just didn't want the obvious stuff to stop working.

  • Upgrade ZCM 11 SP1a to SP3

Our zone is currently running ZCM11 SP1a, I'm looking into upgrading to SP3. From the docs I see that primary server cannot be upgraded directly from SP1a to SP3, but agents can be upgraded directly. I will also need to upgrade the server OS (SLES11 SP1), so the entire server upgrade will probably be a several evening affair.
So there will be an interim period when agent on workstations is SP1a, but server is running SP2 or SP3. Will that cause any problems?

    This should be fine.

  • Upgrading Itunes with an external hard drive and another question

Okay so about a month ago I transferred my itunes library to my external hard drive. I have since purchased and downloaded new music/video to my Ipod. Here are my questions if anyone can help me please.
    1) Because I moved the library to the external, does that mean I also moved the Itunes program OR just the place where new music is downloaded/purchased and save to?
    2) Upgrading to new Itunes on this computer, will that ruin what I have in my library or just upgrade and keep everything the same like it is now?
    3) Horror story I heard is that when I upgrade, I may have to re-purchase music from Itunes in order for it to play on new Itunes. If that's true then I am paying like $400+.
I'm not a dummy, but this Ipod and music are very, very important to me. Any help would be very appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Gusaphit

so because you have kept your itunes folder and library on an EHD, I take it you have also deleted the actual Itunes program folder from your computer's C drive?
Not the program folder, iTunes folder where your music library and ancillary files are kept. I haven't had my iTunes music on any internal hard drive on any computer for years.
I am trying to delete the music/movies off of this PC as it is my work station as well.
What steps do I need to take in order to successfully ensure that my Itunes will be secured on my EHD and fully operable should I want to add more music, purchase more music, or delete/re-arrange music as I am doing now.
Check in Preferences>Advanced to make sure that iTunes is pointed to your EHD. If it is, you should be fine. Then, just to make sure that everything is where it should be consolidate your library: File>Library>Organize Library.
Follow-up: If I move the program over to my EHD does that mean I can use any PC to download music into the Itunes library from my EHD?
I don't think you want to move the iTunes.exe file to your EHD. As I understand it, iTunes isn't really happy there and it takes some work to get it there. Just move the library.
I'm asking because you responded and you're cute.
Very happy to help but really, I'm not that cute.

  • Upgrading to 10.5 from 10.4 - 2 Quick Questions

    Hi Guys -
The following may be stupid questions so my apologies if they are -
I am going to shortly upgrade to 10.5 from 10.4. I already have a leopard disc as my newer mac came with it pre-installed, can I use this disc for my other mac (on 10.4) to upgrade or do I need to buy a totally new leopard installation pack?
Will upgrading cause me to lose any data or software? I know this sounds like a stupid question and I do have stuff backed up already but installing the new OS wont wipe all the photos, files, final cut projects I have, will it? Likewise I'm guessing it doesn't remove any/all applications I have installed such as Office 08 and Toast?
    Thanks in advance.

You will need to buy a retail Leopard DVD. The DVD that comes with a Mac will not work on a different model.

Upgrading will not affect any data or added applications, but you should make sure you have the latest version of those applications, and that they are compatible with Leopard.

Posting TO the forum via an email interface - probably OK, though even that leaves me with a vague uneasy feelilng. Allowing reply FROM the forum TO someone's email .. absolutely poison. In addition to opening a market for brain dumps, there are far too many on the forum that expect the 'gurus' to be at their personal beck and call. You see it in a lot of forums, not just here on OTN. My personal attitude is 'read the forum, write the forum'.

  • Upgrade from ALUI 5.0.4 to G6 - objectID question?

I attended BEAWorld and heard about the obectID problem in 5.0.4. We are planning on upgrading to G6 in December. Is there a way for us to find all of the places where we are using objectID with the opener tag? Should we remove/update these tags before the upgrade? Will the objectID still work after the upgrade? Or is this strictly a migration problem?

It's strictly a migration problem, not an upgrade problem. You can safely move to G6 without worrying about ObjectIDs changing.

  • WLC upgrade to 7.0.98.0, WCS & Location Appliance to upgrade - Building maps location

    Hi,
We recently upgraded about 24 WLCs (4402s and 5508s) from 6.x to 7.0.98.0. In order to support these WLCs through WCS, we also need to upgrade the WCS to 7.0.164 which is currently running at 6.0.132.0 (Linux OS). Same is the case with Wireless Location Appliance 2700 to be upgraded as well. Wireless Management system has number of building maps with AP locations.
Prior to upgrade the WCS / Location appliance we need to take the backup of these building maps, already stored to export after the upgrade. Kindly let us know the directory where all these maps are being stored, as during upgrade we will loose all the stored data / maps.
    Thanks for your kind assistance.
    Regards.
    Shuja

    Hi Shuja:
Who says you're going to lose all your maps and stored data during a WCS upgrade?  The installer for WCS 7.0.164.0 will see the 6.0.132.0 installation and upgrade it in place, modifying the existing data to work in the new 7.0 format.  The installer for WCS 7.0.164.0 will even ask you if you want to make a backup of this data before the upgrade process even starts, although it would be a good idea to pull a backup of everything before you start.  (One can never have too many backups, right?)  The backup application in your existing install should be at /opt/WCS6.0.132.0/backup .  Run that application and it will prompt you for a location to put the .nmsbackup file.
The .nmsbackup file that results from a WCS backup is what gives WCS its portability across platforms (physical/virtual) and operating systems (Windows/Linux).  It's essentially the lifeboat of WCS, containing the database, the maps, the licenses and other supporting files.

  • Upgrade from CC for Photographers to Full CC billing question

I want to upgrade to full cc.  But before I do I just need clarification of how I'll be billed since I took advantage of the CC for Photographers.  Will I be billed for both?  Or will adding full cc mean it "cancels" out that $9.99 payment?  Thanks!

    Hi n4photo,
You may upgrade your plan following the steps mentioned under "Membership & account" in the below link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/membership-subscription-troubleshooting- creative-cloud.html
You will not be billed for two subscriptions,  your previous plan will be canceled and you may subscribe to new plan. You may contact Customer/Chat support about switching your plans:

  • Upgrade WCS 5.1.64 to 6.0.196 Questions

    Hi,
Im currently testing the WCS upgrade from 5.1.64 to 6.0.196 and I have a couple of questions that I cant find the answers to.
    1. Will I require a new license to move from 5 to 6 or even to 7?
    2. Will I need to reinstall the license files I have for the 150+ AP's I have or will all licenses be handled as part of the automated upgrade process?
    Cheers
    Dylan

    Hi,
The current licenses will work on the upgraded version.
Simply follow the upgrade procedure and the licneses will be ok on the new version.

  • Before upgrading iPhone to 3.0 beta a few basic questions!

We have a few apps up in the store, and I want to upgrade them, so I suppose I need to upgrade my iPhone now to the beta 3.0 firmware.
Before doing so, I'd like to ask those who have gone before me a few simple questions.
    (1) I don't have anything on my iPhone that is earth-shatteringly important. But if I need to, can I restore to OS 2 and get my old email settings and apps back?
    (2) What does updating to the beta 3.0 firmware really mean? Will I get to preview all the core OS 3.0 apps, including the search features, new Camera, Mail and Safari apps, etc.? If so, that sounds like fun.
    (3) What happens when I synch with iTunes while the beta 3.0 firmware is installed? Will normal synch still work?
Thanks for any tips or advice on this. I can't afford to get another iPhone device just to maintain my current apps.

"A user was earlier reporting that she was getting prompted for clean access login again and again"
I recommend that you check manage subnet and vlan mapping at the CAS the problem could be located at that level.

yes.. just plug in the new ipod to your computer and it will sync whats on your library to your new ipod.

  • Offline upgrade of CUCM 8.6 to 10.5 vNIC question

Currently doing an off line upgrade of a customer CUCM 8.6 system.  After building the VMs using the 10.5 OVA template, we found that the software would NOT load as it would fail during install.  Root cause was tracked down to an issue with the VM NIC.  10.5 builds this nic as a VMXNET3.  It was necessary to change this to E1000 to get the software to load.
Is it a problem leaving this as an E1000 vNIC going into production?  Or do we really need to back it up and rebuild it, or swap out the vNIC to have it be officially supported?
    TIA
    Cliff

Gack!!!!  Once again burned by obscure information being located in an unexpected place.
The procedure to modify the vNIC is in there, but it didn't really address the install on the v10 OVA with older software.  I found I could change it to an E1000 type, install the v8 software, then use the procedure in the readme to modify it to the VMXNET 3 adapter type.  That, and the need for the COP to recognize the media as valid really should have been made a lot more obvious.
Seems like it would be a lot simpler to just include the COP files you might need on the ISO image, but I guess that would create something else to manage they really don't want to.
    Thanks Chris!.
