Upgradeabilty of flash for phones
hi there,
does anybody know if sonyericsson will eventually
upgrade/update the flashlite version of shipping mobiles ?
i just got a w880 and would like to develop flashlite
content, but this phone does not play sounds in swfs.
or is this all dependant on the hardware?
thanks
FL1.1 for SE walkman phones support MIDI sounds, not native
flash audio.

IPhone is at a grey screen after flashing for a few minutes
My iPhone is at a grey screen after flashing at the same screen for a couple of minutes.
I can turn my screen on and off, phone functions and siri both work. The screen is just grey, no error messages or anything.
This happened after I was trying to connect to a wifi hotspot and I was typing something into a field when it froze, flashed for a few minutes, and stayed on a grey screen. This has been going on for about an hour and a half.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi Brialex119,
If your iPhone is flashing with a grey screen, I would suggest resetting the device and resetting the network settings. If that does not resolve the issue, then you may need to back up to iCloud and restore it.

Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.

Hello, I have CME 8.6 installed on two 2851s and before going into production, I am testing a few phones.
One of my 2851's is creating cnf.xml files for each phone using SEP<Mac address>.cnf.xml and the other one will not and the phones keep booting up with XMLDefault.cnf.xml.
I've looked at both configurations and I can't see what the difference is. Other than not being able to create the SEP<MacAddress>.cnf.xml files, the phones appear to be loading up fine.
One difference I see is the "its" directory is located on system: on the one that creates the cnf files, and the "its" directory is located in flash on the one that doesn't, although I don't know how that matters.
Below is the one that doesn't create the SEP<MACADDRESS>.cnf.xml files for phones:

Also, from the other few CME installations I've seen, all of the information is in flash, but for some reason when I xtracted the tar for this CME, it's showing up in system: ? Could that be a problem? Here is what I see:

Led Flash for Alerts not working.
iOS5 - Accessibility - LED Flash for Alerts turned on.
But LED does not flash when phone call coming in.
Anyone has the same problem. How to fix it?G Lam wrote:
I seem to have found out the problem.
It works this way. It the LED flash alert is already set to on, turn it off, then press the home button to return to home screen. Then go to setting and turn it on again.
It should work. The LED will flash only when your your phone is locked or asleep.
But however, if you somehow have turned your phone off, reset it or its battery runs out, it won't work again. You then have to redo the turn off and on process again for it to work.
This is true even after I have updated to 5.0.1 yesterday.
This is definitely a bug.
Apple, please look into this too while you are working with the battery issue.
Thanks for your tip on making this LED work as an alert. It's too bad it does not work when the vibe/ring button is set to vibe. -
Do Web pages for phones have to be Apps?
I do not own a mobile phone that is web enabled, and I never designed a web page for phones, but now due to the steep learning curve, I need a quick fix.
Reading the help in Dreamweaver 5.5, there is lots of information about creating the best mobile sites, though at the moment, I don't understand a lot of it - but that's my fault.
However, when I use someone else's phone to look at most existing sites that are just designed for computers to view, the phone has facilities that make the sites available.
Lots of zooming and such which is a pain, but you usually can view them.
It occurred to me that perhaps there is a position mid way between a stock web site and a fully fledged phone app could be a stop gap solution until the whole mess of media queries, and other phone related stuff is understood.
My suggested solution is as follows:
Provide seperate sets of pages for both types at suitable sizes ( max 320 wide for mobiles).
Keep all graphics for phone pages to a minimum size and well optimised to allow for quick page loading.
1.On the index page of the site, put a large link to the phone pages and one to the computer pages so that its easily seen by phone users
2. Design the index page and all phone pages so that the content would fit on a 320 pixel wide screen.
3. Have the first page after the index purely as the menu screen, with a list of links.
4. Each link leads to a deck of stacked pages that that are serially linked back and forth, with a "return to first page" on each one, with the navigation being at the bottom (or the top?) of the page.
To view pages, the phone user would have to select the phone link on the site's index page, then select from the menu to get to the first page of a topic. He can then flick through the linked set of pages and go back to the menu from any. The pages would fit most mobile phones, and no phone specific stuff wopuld be needed.
I appreciate that this method would not provide the most sparkling of mobile web sites, and would require two sets of pages, which is a maintenance problem, but it ought to help phone users to surf my site until I can get up to speed with the mobile stuff.
Question is - would it work?
Your comments please?

Frankly, if you simply do a website using HTML5, you're set for a mobile device. And Dreamweaver 5 and 5.5 both give you code-hinting and definitions for HTML5/CSS3.
jQuery would be the "app" side of that, though if you are really looking to make an application that works on a mobile phone, your best method is to do it in Flash and then compile it using Air. Adobe has a complete discussion of what's required here.
Hi mhollis55
Could you tell me why you describe the jQuery mobile framework as an app?
The framework uses html5, css3 and ARIA, and is designed to make the creation of mobile friendly web pages easier for those who do not wish to commit themselves to learning all the mobile specific features required by modern smartphones and now even supports many of the older smartphone devices, see - http://jquerymobile.com/

What is the best way to update flash for my ipad?
J
No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
1. Puffin
2. SkyFire
3. Photon Flash
4. Browse2Go
5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that." -
Downloading Flash for Solaris 10
I am trying to download Flash for a Solaris10 machine that doesn't have Internet access. The Download centre keeps interogating my Windows machine and only gives me windows / linux options. Any ideas ?
Steve FIt isn't officially supported.. and you certainly can't download it from adobe.. From the release notes for mobile firefox:
Does Firefox on my phone support plugins? Support for plugins in Firefox for Maemo has been disabled. On most Web pages that use the Adobe Flash plugin, the performance of the plugin didn't meet our standards, and the interactivity and performance of the entire Web page was negatively impacted. This was especially felt on pages with multiple instances of the plugin. Advanced users can enable plugins for experimentation and testing purposes only. We plan to provide a browser add-on that will enable you to selectively enable plugins on certain sites, because some sites, like YouTube, work well.
You can try these instructions, but don't expect it to be great:

Flash for symbian,is it coming?
Hello!
I am wondering if anybody knows something about flash for symbian mobile phones.A long time ago i read somewhere that at the end of 2010 adobe would finally make it. Does anybody know if it is coming at all?
Best regards,
MitjaThe latest versions of Flash Lite whcih Adobe developed for mobile devices are not concurrent with the Flash versions available for Windows, Mac etc. - it is not an issue of the phone hardware being in any way inadequate.
However, you should note that Adobe does not release Flash Lite in user-downloadable form, it is always supplied to phone manufacturers for integration into phone firmware, so any new version released will only ever be available if the phone firmware is updated with the changes incorporated. -
Quand va sortir un plugin Flash pour les navigateurs des
mobiles ?
C'est pas simple de vendre un site web Flash si on ne peut
pas le regarder sur un mobile.
When will leave a plugin flash for the navigators the
mobiles?
It is not simple to sell a Web site flash if one cannot look
it on a mobile. No - the question is about flash player plugins for web
browsers, not the flash lite crap.
The answer apparently is that Adobe has stopped making a
Flash Player for Windows Mobile as of Flash Player 7.
Can anyone from Adobe confirm that Adobe has no interest in
supporting a Flash Player for Windows Mobile?
If there still is interest, is there any schedule for
updating it - it's already two iterations of OS behind now (it's
for WM2003 and MS is already replaced that with Windows Mobile 5
and Windows Mobile 6! )
I assume Adobe sees this as a threat to Flash Lite-based
phones and wants to push Flash Lite as a quasi-OS perhaps even have
a Flash Lite-based browser. I hoped the iPhone would encourage them
to support advanced mobile devices again. Apparently they would
rather support low-end phones and tie themselves to the carrier so
they have a predictable revenue stream. This seems evident from
even the layout of the forums - there's no Flash Player topic under
the mobile device forums.
From the end-user perspective it seems kind of pointless to
drop it - why not just compile the thing for ARM processors? The
phones that use Flash Lite don't have your choice of browsers, etc.
so it's a completely different market. Please at least release
Flash Player 8, if not Flash Player
9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess mobile users will have to raise a stink like the
Linux users - though how many years did it take for Flash Player on
Linux to be brought up to the same version as the Windows and OSX
versions? -
Where can I download a flasher for Nokia Asha 311 ...
Where can I download a flasher for Nokia Asha 311 ? My phone is not switching on ... It fell down yesterday . So its not working , my brother said me to flash it once .
Attachments:
Nokia-Asha-311.jpg 32 KBYou need to visit Nokia Care .. Not sure if the result is due to some Hardware damage due to the fall ..Even if its due to software the firmware needs to be flashed at NCC.

Iphone 4s turns off when using flash for photograph
so here is my problem. i have an iPhone 4s 16gb bought back at launch in 2011. since updating to ios6 i have this dumb issue.. whenever i try and click a photo using the stock camera app (with FLASH) the phone (sometimes) just turns itself off and when i try turning it back on, it tells me i need to connect it for charging (regardless of how much juice is remaining).. when i try turning it on after a few minutes it boots up normally with the amount of battery it had prior to the shut down.. i thought that the new software updates might solve this issue but it hasnt at all.. i have searched these forums and it seems im not the only one having this issue.. even upgrading to ios7 did nothing and its still the same.. it was working fine when i had ios5 out of the box.. also when i use flash (in a low light enviorment) the images are completely washed out/ heavily overexposed.. i mean you can only see the 4 corners of the picture.. i have no covers etc on the phone just fyi.. btw this only happenes in the stock ios camera app and not any of the 3rd party apps that i have tried.. also when i use the new quick flashlight it works perfectly without issue till the battery really drians out (just fyi for a perspective).. is there like a fix that im unaware about? or apple doesn't care about 4s people anymore??
Same thing happening here.
iphone4s 64gb switches off when taking pictures (sometimes) (often enough to be annoying!)
always with 10-40% of battery remaining
it shows flat battery animation and will NOT switch on, even if holding both buttons for 2mins+
but it turns on immediately when i connect charger, no waiting to charge
and immediately shows 10-50% of battery that i knew it had
it also did it once when playing music and then someone called me
device switched off when i pressed answer button
i am on 5.1.1 but know others on forums running 6.0.1 with same problem
so telling me to update will be pretty stupid advice
it did not happen on 5.0 (but that was when battery was new - 4 months old!)
had device for 13 months so warranty/swap is out of the question
as i paid £270 upfront for the device and still have to pay £37 per month to o2-UK for another year
i find it disgusting that i would have to pay to have it fixed/swapped considering its not my fault
im actually looking for a definite fix for this
NOT the usual 'take it to apple store' babble as i cant afford that
but we all know im not gonna get one.... -
Apple not support Flash for iPhone?
Hello,
I have my clients with flash website & looking for flash facily but I am not able to operate flash in iPhone. I am operating one of the best web design company from the cell phone for QA & other stuffs.
Can any one guide me how to supoprt flash in iPhone?
Thanks,
Arun NairAdobe ceased development of Flash for all mobile devices over a year ago. There will never be Flash for iPhone.
If you run a web design company I don't understand how you could not know this. It has been reported and discussed widely for over a year.

Hi i am desperate to get flash for my galaxy phone and tablet. I dont want a dodgy hacked copy as i need it for uni. PLEASE HELPPPPP
THANKSHi Rebecca,
Flash Player is no longer supported on Android devices, hasn't been for several years now. While older versions are posted, I don't recommend installing them as they don't contain any recent security fixes.

Can you install flash for me thru my computer
Can you install flash for me going thru my computer ? [email protected]
Well this could happen for any number of reasons.
It's a workaround, but you could try the download in this
link
http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html
Technically that's the update for the Flash authoring tool,
but if you unzip it then you'll have a full players folder that you
can install. If you're stuck after that point then open a support
case.
Flash Player technical support is available via webcase only
at:
http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/
There is no phone support for Flash Player.
