Upgraded 8350i to device software 4.6.1.313 and got many problems

is anybody else having problems with device software 4.6.1.313? i loaded on my 8350i and started having problems including browser crashes one of which caused a device reboot. i downgraded back to 4.6.1.204 and now all is well. what the heck?

Did you remove your media card when upgrading? Incompatible themes/apps can also cause issues and sometimes an error may have occured during the upgrade process so reloading the OS again may help.

  • Upgrade from element 8 PC to element 12 mac and got an error that mac version doesn't support older element version. Any idea how to move catalog an pics?

    Hello,
Just upgraded Elements to version 12 on a Mac. Did a full backup on my Window based version 8 to external drive and when I wanted to do a restore on the V12 (Mac) got the following message: This catalog is from an older version of Elements and currently is not supported on the Mac platform. Please create a new catalog and then import your media". Any idea how I can maintain all the catalog data from the PC (I have about 25K pictures)?
    Thanks

There was a major change in catalog database format in PSE 9. You would need to install PSE 9 or later in windows, make the backup again and then restore that to the mac. You could conceivably do this with the trial if you didn't buy the boxed version of PSE 12 and so don't have the windows media.

  • 8350i rollback to software v4.6.1.204

Hi --i have searched for posts on this--maybe someone has similar experience. We have about 10 blackberry 8350i's. Some were upgraded to v4.6.1.313 and started having problems where they would be talking to someone and it goes automatically to speaker, drops calls, once it goes to speaker you can't turn it off...etc. When we rolled back software to v.204 all was fine. we have many phones on the old version that work with zero problems. HOWEVER now when we've gotten a new or  replacement phone with v.313, since there never was a v.204 on that phone, you can't roll it back, or at least no one will help me. I've talked to my sprint rep, blackberry and both say they don't support putting old version on a newer phone and won't tell me if and how I can do it. BUT it solves my problems. Does anyone know a way to put v204 onto a phone that has never had it? If not, does anyone know when the version after v.313 will be out. Ready to move carriers and phones...Thank you.

i believe if you have the current version of desktop manager it will allow you to push the old software to the device.
most service and repair locations for sprint should be able to do this if you cannot.
    (i have done it myself)

  • Error 807 When trying to update device software

    Hi
I've searched the forums for a solution to this and a few people seem to have the same problem but I cannot find a solution.
I was trying to upgrade the device software on a Curve 8310 and it got to the end and crashed- I now get error 807 on the device which I know means no OS.
I know I need to get a new OS on there but as the device is not recognised by USB can anyone advise how I do it?
    Thanks
    Rich

Rich, that is likely error "507" if you look closely. It means no Operating System on the device (and since you were in the midst of an upgrade, I bet you know that!).
You should be able to plug your BB back to the USB, open DM and it should recognize and prompt for it. If it doesn't prompt you, open Application Loader and see if you can.
If still not, then you will need a JL_Cmder wipe and load of the OS.
You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
If JL_Cmder does not work, follow this instructional:

  • How to Re-Install your Applications after Updating to BlackBerry Device Software 5.0

If you have recently updated your BlackBerry to BlackBerry Device Software version 5.0 you may have noticed that you are missing some of your applications.  The most common reason for this is that the applications are not designed to be run on a BlackBerry using version 5.0 and they are automatically removed during the reload process.
If this has happened to you you will need to follow the steps outlined in one or both of the the following articles:
Applications are removed after upgrading or switching to a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry ... (KB19913)
Application icon missing and displays in an 'Archived' status in BlackBerry App World after upgradin... (KB19976)
BlackBerry Wallet icon disappears when upgrading to BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 (KB19911)

  • Reloading Curve 8900 device software

Hi I am having trouble with my Blackberry device software, how do I delete and re intsal the software on my Curve 8900?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Manual device OS upgrade instructions:
    1. First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    2. Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry. Get DM here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
    3. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    5. This step is not needed unless there is an issue on next steps. Use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup) then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed) then proceed to step 6
    6. remove internet connection to PC and reboot PC.
    7. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.
    8. if you did Step 5, restore from back up. Follow this KB if needed http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339
    Enjoy the new OS.

  • HT4528 Iphone 4 stuck in recovery mode during upgrade to ios 7 software. How to get it unstuck without losing data. Thanks.

I tried to upgrade my Iphone 4 software to ios 7.It then got stuck in recovery mode.  I tried to work with Itunes but screen said phone was in recovery mode and had to be fixed in order to use itunes.  I would like to know how to get in Unstuck without losing my current data, if at all possible. Thanks in advance for your help.

If the phone is in recovery mode, the access to the data is already lost. See this support document to restore your phone. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
IF you did the update via iTunes, the first thing iTunes would have done was to create a backup. Check and if it did, then you can restore to that backup.
