Upgraded from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2 now I can't ssh into my Mac
After the upgrade I can no longer ssh into my Mac from any other host on my local network. The connection simply hangs, and ssh -vvv does not provide any hints as to what is going on. I can, however, ssh from my Mac back into my Mac. I've increased the log level of sshd, but the only clue is that I get the following messages in /var/log/secure.log every time I try to log in unsuccessfully. I've fixed permissions from Disk Utility and verified that /etc/ssh_config and /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist are correct.
I now assume that this problem was caused by the 10.6.2 upgrade. Is there any way to undo the upgrade and back down to 10.6.1? Is there any way to inform Apple of this problem?

Can't help with your issue since I don't have a network or ever need to use ssh, but if you want to report this issue to Apple, send a bug report (or an enhancement request) to Apple via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. You'll get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

10.7/10.8 will NOT run your older PPC or most Intel software, you going to have to spend money on a older machine that might not be worth it.

Also 10.7/10.8 is slower and has more memory needs you machine might not be able to handle (4GB+) also your older CPU and graphics card.
If you want fast, OS X 10.6.8 is simply the fastest with a fresh install, even faster than 10.5. AND it runs your older software, no need to purchase new ones.
Run 10.6 until the wheels fall off that machine before you inflicted yourself with a backwards crap of the Lions.

Am replacing airport extreme with Time Machine and want to upgrade from Tiger to Snow leopard. Am told I should manually back up into T Machine before OS update but set up utility won't allow anything with OS below 10.5 and I'm 10.4.11. What to do?
I think you mean you are replacing your Airport Extreme with a Time Capsule. Time Machine is software integrated into OS X 10.5 & 10.6 used to automatically backup a system to an external HD. Time Capsule is an Airport Extreme that has a hard disk integrated into it that can be used for storage or as a Time Machine backup drive.
Because you are currently on Tiger 10.4.x you can backup to a external HD using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner. Having a backup is very wise before doing any major system update. After you have created the backup and have successfully upgraded to Snow Leopard you can still use the external HD for many things. The strategy I'd recommend is to use the new Time Capsule as your Time Machine backup and then use the external HD as backup using SuperDuper or CCC. Redundant backups is wise because backups can (and do) fail too! In addition both SD and CCC are bootable clones, this is useful in that if your internal HD crashes you can boot from a cloned drive and continue working until the internal HD is replaced.

How do you stop mobile sites from loading in safari automatically on my iPad? I can't log into mobile me because of this.
The me.com website is not designed for or intended to be accessed by iOS devices. Apple provides support in iOS or seperate Apps for accessing all aspects of MobileMe except for the Accounts section.
Use MobielMe as intended and you'll have no problems.

Even if you use a different browser to get access to me.com on iOS, you'll find most of it is unusable.
Other websites that present you with the mobile version have been programmed to do so by their developers. They specifically look for users accessing from 'mobile' devices and switch to the mobile site. Many such sites provide a link to go back to the 'full' site, if not, there's not a lot you can do except use a browser that can pretend not to be a mobile browser. -
I have just upgraded to 10.8 on my macbook pro and now I can't access itunes, videos and there is no sound - anyone help?
It is an old macbook pro probably 6yo with the back lit keys - not under applecare anymore obviously. I downloaded the upgrade last night which took quite a while longer than it should have.
Anyone else experienced this and can suggest something? many thanks JoRun Software Update, wait till all the updates have finished downloading then restart the mac.

When I try to exit a video on the internet I received a screen asking if I was sure I want to leave. It to not have a confirmation tag. But it has prevented Safari from shutting down. Now I can not turn off my Mac? How do I reset?

You need to force quit Safari, but hitting Command-option-esc, and force quit Safari. -
I am Canadian. I apparently tried to download an app from the US app center but couldnt. Now I can't download or update any apps because I am still connected to the US site. When I try it says "change over to the Canadian site" but it doesnt shown me how.
You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country... -

You will have to format your iPad. Looks like that's the only way to reset your password.
Formatting your iPad
Turn off your iPad, turn on iTunes, hold large button down on ipad while connecting the white ipad cord to your Pc.
When the window prompts format iPad,let the button go and press format button on iTunes.
