Upgraded from a mini to 30G video

Will my new 30g video ipod be recognized in my Itunes that used to only use my ipod mini? The mini harddrive went out and is history.
ipod mini

Yes it will, just connect it and follow the onscreen instructions to register and name your new iPod. It will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it automatically update all songs and playlists, selected playlists only or you can manage it manually.

  • Upgrading from 1gen mini to 30G video...

    Hi all,
I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my new 30G video which will replace my old faithful mini. My husband is going to take the mini, so how do we do this painlessly?
I would like to just disassociate the mini from my iTunes library somehow and associate the new video with that library. Then have my husband associate the mini with his old iTunes library left dormant from when he lost his old 3rd gen iPod about a year ago. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

This is very possible... Well, it is very simple. Just plug it in. iPods mirrors the computer it is attaches to. So when you plug in your new iPod, the new iPod is going to sync all your musics into it. When your husband plugs your old iPod in his computer, iTunes is going to ask if he wants to change the your musics to his musics, and all he have to do is click yes.

  • After upgrading from it6 to itunes7 my videos doesn´t work

After upgrading from itunes6 to itunes7 my videos doesn´t work. Theres no error message, no reaction. all the music play like befor, only my vids (quicktime), all!! the vids doesnt work after updating..i hope, that someone could help me..
    Many thanks

hmmmm. let's try checking to see if they will still play in your current version of QuickTime.
in itunes, right-click on one of the videos that is causing the grief, and select "Show in Windows Explorer".
right click the icon of the file in the Explorer window that comes up and select "Open With ...", and try to open it with your QuickTime player. does it play there or do you get funny business with that too?

  • Upgrade from intel hd graphics to video card

i have hp g72 b54nr laptop,i want to upgrade from intel hd graphis to video card so whether my sys supports,if not how can i improve my graphic performance for gaming.
sys consist of 4gb ddr3 ram, intel pentium p6100 processor has 2 ghz speed.....
so pls suggest or guide to upgrade or to improve graphic performance......
    reply me soon..:-)

There is no internal upgrading for your notebook's graphics. There is no MXM or miniPCIe slot inside. The only improvement you can make to your gaming graphics without an expensive external graphics upgrade solution is to run the games at as low a resolution as possible.
Sorry to have to bear bad news.

  • Upgraded from Lion, now more problems, video, USB, networking

SMB into my Mac mini from other sources, not Mac, will not authenticate
Video gamma can't seem to calibrate correctly
Apps and some devices have random problems using USB
And my HP OfficeJet will not connect to the scanner any more
I could either try going back to Snow Leopard or installing Windows... Windows would be more of a Lateral move at this point, I think...

If you were in Lion why go back to Snow Leopard?  Restore from Time Machine will put you back to where you were, assuming you backed up.

  • Upgraded from a mini to 5.5gen

    Hi,
I have searched the archives but I have not found a definite answer. I need to remove the music from my old mini because I am selling it. I also want to save my itunes library in order to load all of music onto my new ipod. I also would like itunes not to recognize the old mini.
Do I just hook up the new one?
Do I restore to factory settings on the mini by pressing the buttons?
    Thanks in advance,
    Theresa

Yes it will, just connect it and follow the onscreen instructions to register and name your new iPod. It will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it automatically update all songs and playlists, selected playlists only or you can manage it manually.

  • Macbook, Mini-dvi to video, TVs

I bought the mini-dvi to video adapter to use with my Macbook. I plugged it in and connected it to the TV using the yellow wire. The TV (a Toshiba HDTV) does not display correctly.. it's basically just black, sometimes I can see a little green or whatever.
On my Macbook display, I know it think it is working, since a second display is listed and Spaces shows the extra display as well.
    What do I do?
    THANKSSSS

Since you mentioned your TV is HDTV:
Did you connect the yellow wire to the Composite Video input or the Component Video Input? These are very different, but uses the same connector and cable shape. It sounds like you plugged it in into the Component input.
If want to check my suspicions, plug that yellow wire to the input right next to it, and you will see occasional blues instead of greens. And move it over one more and you'll see occasional reds instead of blues!
The yellow thing from the mini-dvi to Video is composite, but most HDTV inputs are component.
    Here are your options:
    1. Free:
Does your HDTV have a composite input? It might be labeled as standard analogue or something like that. If so, use your yellow cable and plug it into that input instead.
    2. Better:
The mini-dvi to video adaptor also has a S-Video output. Use an s-video cable to connect from mabcook to TV.
    3. BEST:
Does your HDTV have a DVI input? If so, you will get a MUCH better picture if you buy the mini-dvi to DVI adaptor and then use a DVI cable to connect macbook-TV. That will cost you money, but it'll look great.

  • Upgrading from 80 gb 5th gen to 16gb touch

Compu-nube trying to upgrade from 80 gb 5th gen. video to a 16 gb iTouch and can't get any movies to load on touch. HELP PLEASE!!!

    Hello, Welcome to discussions.
You will want to first ensure your running the latest iTunes which is 8.0.2 at this time. You can check the version via iTunes Help - About iTunes.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You will also want to ensure your computer is authorized with your current iTunes store account. Even if you might be authorized you may want to try again to ensure
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
When you connect the iPod, and you get a summary screen. Check down below and see weather you are using manually manage or not. If is manually manage you will want to drag and drop to ipod touch. This is something you are probably used to doing at least once since you are a current iPod owner.
Check the Video Tab when iPod Touch is connected, and make sure you have Sync Movies checked, and then check the box of the movies you want on the touch. And press Apply or Sync.

  • Upgrade from 3gs to 4s ? Sim card

Anyone know how Apple deals with upgrading from the mini SIM in the 3GS to the micro SIM in 4 and 4S?
If I have a 3GS with it's old mini-SIM in it and pre-order a 4S from Apple for home delivery, will the new phone have a new micro SIM in it when it comes?  Will I need to deal directly with AT&T to link the new SIM to my old account/line, or does the activation process automatically do that?  Or might the 4S come SIMless, leading me to take the old SIM and cut it down to Micro-SIM size?   Anyone with experience from the 3GS to 4 upgrade have any light on the subject?
    Thanks.

As always - you should read the boards before posting:
    From other threads:
"The ATT carrier locked iPhone ships with a SIM card pre-installed.
When activating the new iPhone with ATT, your existing iPhone and SIM card will be deactivated at that time."

  • From the mini to the nano

I have a question. When I upgrade from the mini to the nano, I have to install the new itunes, right? But do I want to completely uninstall the earlier itunes? I fear that I'll lose all of my music in the process.

You don't need to install iTunes if you already have it, just connect the Nano.

  • Very slow encoding after upgrade from 5.03 to 5.5 with MXO2 mini

    Hi all.
After upgrading from CS5.03 to 5.5 my encoding now takes 5 times as long. A 2 minute HD Video file would take 2 minutes, and still does on the PC I haven't upgraded (identical almost) but now with CS5.5 it takes almost 11 minutes.
    Some explanation....
I create HD MJPEG files on a PC with Blackmagic Decklink.
I transfer these files to an HPz800 which used to run CS5.03 with Matrox Utils 5.1.1.37 and an MXO2 Mini with Max. (Nvidia Quadro fx4800 and 12GB of RAM)
On a Blackmagic timeline HD 1080i MJPEG with filters of Auto Color, Fast Color Corrector and Gamma correction a 2 minute timeline would encode in 2 minutes give or take a couple of seconds.
Now with CS5.5 and Mtx 5.5 an identical file takes 11 minutes to encode to Microsoft avi - Matrox 1920 x 1080i - 25fps.
If I remove the filters (which I need to be able to use) it will come down to 2 minutes as it used to be.....so it seems to be the filters are now slowing things down when they never used to. I have never rendered before exporting. Ever. So this time I tried rendering first and it brought the 11 minutes down to 7 minutes but when taking into account the 4 minutes rendering time I am no better off.
I have updated CS5.5 to CS 5.5.1 and MTX Utils to 5.5 and then 5.5.1 and it makes no difference. Still 11 minutes to decode 2 minutes with three filters, which is exactly what I have always been doing but now it doesn't work....
Can anybody help? or make a suggestion as to why using filters in 5.5 now multiplies the encode time by 5 when it never used to. Everything else bar Matrox Utils on this machine is as it was before the upgrade to 5.5 and as I say my older machine is still 5.03 it can do it all in 2 minutes even with the filters intact.
So have I really spent a small fortune upgrading to make my output 5 times slower. Not happy......

To go further, every single encode that I have done is slower than it was before with CS5.01 or 5.03.
This is odd because going from Blackmagic to any other codec doesn't necessarily need the Matrox box or Matrox utils
    Blackmagic HD or SD to
    Matrox HD
    QT HD MP4
    QT SD DV25
    DV AVI SD
    Mpeg2 - DVD
Every single encode is slow by 2x to 6x.
Why should Blackmagic HD to QT MOV MP4 take twice as long as it used to...... having said that The speeds I am seeing now are what it was like before I attached the box in the first place, whether a Matrox codec was involved or not.... It is acting like a blocked funnel. when it used to be a lovely wide and clear funnel.
Anyway Matrox have reproduced the problem and are investigating, so hopefully there will be an answer soon....

  • Upgraded my NB505 mini netbook from win 7 starter to 7 home premium. Then cam & mic stopped working.

I upgraded my NB505 mini netbook from win 7 starter to win 7 home premium. My cam and mic worked fine directly before the upgrade. I tried to reboot, reinstal the drivers, and redownload the app, but nothing worked. When I open the cam app, the blue cam light cuts on, but there is no feed onscreen. It will "take" pics and videos in the sense that it will show a preview of a default pic but not the one taken. These media files are unopenable, because they aren't real. please help!!!

When you upgrade properly, no drivers or utilities are disturbed. And it takes only minutes.

  • FCP video out from mini-dvi to video adapter

Is it possible to get the output of viewer / canvas from mini-dvi to video adapter for the external tv out.
    My configurations,
    Final Cut Pro 5.0
    MacBook
    Mac OS X 10.4.8
Mini-dvi to video adapter for external output of video
    Need to find the solution.
Please suggest your ideas to get things work.
    Expecting reply soon.

If you use the Matrix MXO, yes. You can use the DVI out to feed a NTSC/PAL monitor. This is one of the only ways to monitor HDV.
If you want to monitor DV (either PAL or NTSC), use firewire out to a DV/Analog converter and feed the Monitor from the converter.

  • Hi i upgrade from lion to mountain lion to day on my mini mac,Since the upgrade i am getting no sound through my HDMI cable which was working fine on lion Checked the midi audio settings and system preferences to out on HDMi nothing no sound whats so ever

Hi i upgraded from lion to mountain lion to day on my mini mac,Since the upgrade i am no longer getting sound through my HDMI cable which was working fine on lion Checked the midi audio settings and system preferences to out on HDMi nothing no sound whats so ever.Any one any ideas?
I use a samsung TV for my monitor via HDMI.Tried all the system Audi setting nothing .Head phone and internal speakers are fine.

Similar issue; Audio was working fine on Lion, now not on Mountain Lion. Have a Macbook Pro early 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6750M, connected by thunderbolt through a Lacie LBD to a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter (n.b. same problem when not going through the LBD) to a Pioneer VSX 521 AV receiver. For me when I go into audio Midi settings all the volume sliders for the displayport device are greyed out and at zero. But when I click 'configure speakers', it's able to send out the test signals to each speaker. Part of the problem could be that I'm not getting the option to put out 6channel sound, only 2 or 8 channel. Since my system is Dolby 5.1, and I only have 6 speakers, I would have expected the 6ch option to be available. But I imagine there's more to it than that. Elsewhere someone has suggested playing with Remote Interactive over HD on an Onkyo device; I'll see if there's something similar on the Pioneer that can be changed. Any other suggestions welcome.
