Upgraded from Dreamweaver CS3 from MX

I have maintained a website in MX for 4 yrs. I just purchased
and downloaded CS3. How do I get my website from MX to CS3 without
losing any of the pages, images, etc. Please help -
thanks!!!

Export your site definition from MX - import it into CS3. Go
to the movies.
You are done.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Upgrade

I have purchased a copy of Dreamweaver CS3 Upgrade and on
installation my previous Dreamweaver 8 version serial number is not
    recognised
I have reread the upgrade paths and it looks as though I have
made an error. I hadn't appreciated Adobes new upgrade route for my
Studio 8 using the Creative suite option.
As a result although I own a full version of Studio 8 I
purchased a copy of Photoshop CS2 and upgraded it to CS3.
I then purchased an upgrade of Dreamweaver CS3 expecting to
be able to upgrade using my Dreamweaver 8 in Studio 8.
This has probably cost me more than if I had just upgraded
    using Creative Suite.
I am not expecting something for nothing but I have genuinely
made a mistake and all I need is a working legal copy of
Dreamweaver CS3 to work alongside my Photoshop CS3.
I made the mistake and have entered a support Web case on the
Adobe Web Site with no answer as yet (two weeks so far)
could you please advise me on the best way to put it right
    without costing another fortune.
    Thanks

Thanks Tony. I've forwarded your info to our European support
    team for
investigation. Please post back if you don't hear from
    someone in the next
    few days.

  • Missing Form values in Bindings Panel in Dreamweaver CS3

I've recently upgraded to Dreamweaver CS3 and have noticed
that the form values for forms on the current page are not showing
up in the bindings panel. I believe this was a feature added in
8.0.2 -- it was great for binding a from value to itself on
reloading (in the case the page submitted form failed server side
validation) or for inserting form values into code.
Does anyone know if this feature is still supported in the
new version and how to turn it on -- there's no sign of it in my
    review of the online help.
I'm working in ASP VBScript, and the bindings panel seems to
be displaying the database recordsets on a page just fine.
    Thanks.

Form elements don't automatically display in the Bindings panel. However, you can create form elements in the panel by clicking the plus button and selecting Form Variable from the menu. In a PHP site, this creates a $_POST variable with whatever name you assign to it.

  • Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista

I'm running a desktop PC with Windows Vista Premium. I had
Dreamweaver 8 installed and want to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3. So
I uninstalled Dreamweaver 8 and ran the setup for CS3. After the
setup extracted all he necessary setup files I saw a message saying
"initializing setup" and then...nothing. Setup just quit. I tried
several times. I've never installed any of the CS3 beta
versions...but I ran the CS3 cleanup anyway. No luck. Searched the
registry for any extra Dreamweaver entries. Nothing. The only Adobe
software I have installed is Acrobat 8 Pro and Photoshop CS2. Just
can't get Dreamweaver CS3 to install. Any ideas?

    See if this helps:

Search for the post by gorodek about modifying the
    ContainerProxy.js file.
It seems to have solved the problem for several Photoshop
    users, and it's
solved the problem for some DW users as well.
    Hope this helps,

  • Problems upgrading from Dreamweaver 4 to CS3

The website I manage is www.episcopal-dallas.org. Today, I
upgraded from Dreamweaver 4 to CS3. In Design view, I can edit
about half of the pages, but those of the other half (including the
index/home page) have gray backgrounds (with a few exceptions that
have white), and, although I can make changes in the code, I cannot
edit them in Design view. The cursor forms the universal "nicht"
sign — circle with a diagonal slash through it. I can't find
any commonality between the ones that I can edit and the ones I
    can't.
Also, on some of the pages, the navigation panel that is
supposed to be on the left side has ended up above the text of the
main body of the page. Manuals I have say nothing about upgrading
    existing websites.

    > Apparently, DW4 didn't make
    > the pages conform to the templates
    Of course it does.
    > unless you detach them from each other.
You should never have to do this.
I hope your understanding of this doesn't cause further
    problems for you.

  • Swf previews in browser and doesn't work on server after upgrade from cs3 to cs5

I have upgraded from CS3 to CS5. My site uses a template created in dreamweaver 8.  When I edit a page and embed a .swf file created in flash cs5, it doesn't work on my server, but works on my computer when I 'test in browser'.  I have uploaded all the files in the 'scripts' directory.  I am streaming video.  I have tried using both actionscript 2.0 and 3.0 and streaming .flv and .f4v.  None work.
I have a big site and do not wan't to redo my template unless I absolutely have to.

It's not 100% clear from your post, but you should be aware that CS5 plugins should not work in CS5.5. Because of a CS5.5 bug, CS5 plugins will load in InDesign 7.5.0, but that is fixed in 7.5.1 so they will not load.
You should lean a bit harder on Virginia Systems. They should be able to tell you how to get them the stack trace from the crash which they should be able to look at and tell you which plugin (if any) is responsible for the crash. I could do it for Mac OS X but I don't know how under Windows. You could start by looking at the Event Viewer, though. That may have some helpful information about the crashes and the faulting module.

  • Upgrade from CS3 Design Premium to CS3.3

I downloaded the upgrade file and ran it, which de-installed Acrobat Pro 8 and installed Acrobat Pro 9. This went off without a hitch, so that's good. Is that it for the upgrade? I remember there being much more to do with the CS2.3 upgrade.

I don't understand why is it so difficult for some to find out what CS3.3 includes. When you click on the link to it from the main page you get an Adobe Store page which clearly states:
    "Combines Adobe InDesign® CS3, Photoshop® CS3 Extended, Illustrator® CS3, Flash® CS3 Professional, Dreamweaver® CS3, and new Acrobat 9 Pro, and also includes Adobe Bridge CS3, Version Cue® CS3, Device Central CS3, and now Fireworks CS3."
So what's the problem? All this information is very easily accesible and very clear.

  • Upgrade from CS3 to current

i have Dreamweaver CS3 and would like to upgrade (still have unopened box purchased years ago) .  ...internet connection we have is too flaky and sometimes too slow to use web based s/w
Can't find cost on you website for upgrade. please advise cost.

Your CS3 qualifies you for a significant discount on the 1st year of your Creative Cloud membership.

But as John said, CS3 doesn't qualify you for upgrades on purchased software.

If you decide to purchase DW CS6, keep in mind that is it already 4 versions back from the DW that is currently offered only through the Creative Cloud plan.  And CS6 will not be receiving further updates.  It is what it is.

  • Upgrading from cs1 to cs3

Hi, I'm currently using cs1 on my imac (running Tiger). Should I upgrade to cs2 then to cs3 or do I have to buy the full version of cs3? If so, will I have problems opening files going from cs1 to cs3?? I'm confused! Thanks!

    Dov,
When upgrading from CS to CS3, I would like to add the Web editing tools. Which upgrade package is best to get? I especially need Flash & Dreamweaver. I noticed that there is no InDesign in that package. I do print and Web design so I need it all.
    Thanks,
    CK

  • Can I upgrade from Web Premium 3 to Production Premium 4 and keep Dreamweaver?

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I am thinking of upgrading from my Web Design Premium Cs3 to the Production Suite. I use Dreamweaver a lot but not for major website coding and such and I am quite comfy with CS3. So I would like to keep DW CS3 but I am using after effects more and more with animation projects and would like to upgrade from Web CS3 to Production CS4 to gain AE CS4.
My main question is this: will I loose Dreamweaver CS3 and Acrobat if I do the Production update? I currently run a stand alone version of AE Ver. 7 Pro and acquired a new Macbook Pro that would run AE and Premier, Photoshop etc. I just don't want to loose Dreamweaver in the upgrade.
Also, if I wanted to upgrade Acrobat in the future how would that work? Is Adobe forcing the upgrade to the Master Suite in my situation? Or can I upgrade individual components in the future?
A simple yes or no answer is fine.
    Thanks!

The simple yes or no answer you are looking for is no, you cannot upgrade individual components in the future. Once you buy into the suite, you can upgrade the full suite or upgrade from one version of the suite to a higher version of the suite.

  • Why should my clients who use contribute 3 suffer because I upgrade from cs3 to cs4?

I developed a template that can be used by a number of chapters of a charitable organization. The chapters who subscribe to my template all purchased contribute cs3 and it works well for them.  I may have made the mistake of buying the CS4 upgrade, as any new keys that I send using Dreamweaver cs4 to new users can not be used by users with contribute cs3. Most of these chapter already using contribute 3, do not have the funds to upgrade to contribute 4.
The code of my template has not changed, only the tool that I use to administer it has, why should they have to upgrade because I have?
This also makes it so that older users of my template will not be able to beneifit from the new version of the template. Do I have to reinstall CS3 and keep using CS3 to administer their network or do I have to force them to purchase the upgrade because I chose to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS4? There had to be a way I can send a contribute 3 user a new key because the user has changed names without forcing them to upgrade. Otherwise I have to develop my template so that changes can be made by users using other wisiwig programs.

    Thanks for that.
Yes I had the notion I may have been duped into buying a counterfeit CS3. I got it from Amazon and though Adobe seem to think that the serial number is OK they could not trace it on their system. However, if ths is a fake copy, what can Adobe do to help? How did they help you? I can't see them giving me a free CS3 in exchange - so I'm stuck!
    Kind regards
I had exactly the same problem and I am sorry to say that you may have a counterfeit version of CS3. Contact Adobe they helped me to sort out the problem.

    That's correct.
You can upgrade from a single product to a suite, or from a
    suite to
another suite, but not from a suite to a single product.
Suites offer a substantial discount over the price of
    individual
products, so once you opt for a suite, you're locked into
    buying future
versions of the suite. For most people, the discount makes it
    a good
bargain; but if you want to go back to using an individual
    product, you
need to pay the full price, unless you happen to have a
    qualifying
individual product from which to upgrade.
The various options are listed on the Adobe site:

I am trying to reinstall Dreamweaver CS3 from the CD after having computer issues.  Now getting error "You can only install one Adobe product at a time.  Please complete the other installation before attempting to install ......."  There is no other Adobe product installing.  I have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool many times and uninstalled other Adobe Products but neither has worked.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled this CD version of Dreamweaver several times when changing computers and after having computer issues. A google search of the problem suggested it may be an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.  Please help.

Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.

  • Can't find this info anywhere... Can I upgrade from CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5?

After using Adobe products for years and years, it's not only my opinion but the opinion of many of my colleagues that CS upgrades are only worth it about every other upgrade. That might be a subjective opinion, but it does lead in to my question: Does anyone know if I can upgrade from CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5?? I can't find that info anywhere on Adobe's site.
    Thanks!

Does anyone know if I can upgrade from CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5??
The Adobe Buying Guide clearly states that the answer for CS3 to CS5.5 is yes.
Design Premium example (other Creative Suites are the same):
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/design/buying-guide.displayTab2.html
You won't be able to buy CS5 from Adobe (not that you'd have any reason to).
