Help upgrading from iphone 4 to iphone 5. itunes can't see my iOS 5.1.1 iphone

I was in the process of transfering info from two iphones (4) to two new phones (5). Both 4s running 5.1.1. I plugged the first into itunes, back up and upgraded to iOS 6. This forced me to upgrade itunes as well. Now when I plug in the second phone still on 5.1.1 itunes does not see it. What do I do? I want to back up the phone before upgrading it to iOS 6 and I do not want to use icloud. Is my only option to upgrade from the phone without having backed it up or can I somehow get itunes to see it?

I would manually choice movies I wanted to watch and then sycn to the first ATV as to not waste space on the ATV drive. Now with the new ATV I don't see any of these manual sycn controls plus many movies in the library now seem to be "lost".

At this point it would be best to restore both phones. Do backups of both old phones, and restore new phones from those backups. (make you choose the correct backup for each phone or you'll back were you started).
You can use multiple devices with the same computer, and even the same itunes library. Howevever, it may be easier just to set up seperate user accounts on the computer for the future.

I upgraded from the 4 to the 5s today

So I upgraded from the 4 to the 5s today at the Verizon store. The man who sold & activated it for me told me it could possible take all day. Well that was this morning & it has been at least 7 hours with no movement of the loading bar on the phone. It's stuck on a screen with an apple & a loading bar. It hasn't moved since we left the store & I have no idea if it is broke, frozen, or that slow. I need to use it for work & I'm assuming it is receiving my messages & calls because I cannot send messages with my old iPhone but I can still use it as long as it is on wifi. The 5s will not change from the blank apple screen with the loading bar.

I had this issue with my wifes phone. I had to connect it to iTunes then restore from scratch to get it to work. She has had to put all her apps and music back on from the iTunes Sync. When we tried to restore from backup it failed. I think it is an incompatability issue between iPhone 4 & iPhone 5.
My 5s restored from a backup of my 5 but only when connected to iTunes on the computer. I tried over wifi but wasnt successful. Try backing up your old phone to the computer in iTunes then restore your new phone from that back up, if it fails you will have to restore form new.

Unfortunately in 2012 when I (903.647.0073) upgraded from the iPhone4s to the iPhone 5 I started having reception problems. I started having dropped calls in my home. I had to go outside to get reception without dropped calls. I was told that because of metal in my home I would have to purchase a Network Extender for $250. And we HAVE not metal in our home. AND our other lines all work fine. I felt this was ridiculous. We already pay $350+/month for service and I should NOT have to purchase additional equipment for a service that I already pay for. The manager of our local store at the time gave us at no cost a Samsung Network Extender. It worked beautifully until about a month ago. I went to our local Verizon store and was told that I would have to purchase an extender. THIS is RIDICULOUS. We have been loyal customers for over 7 years and have been very satisfied with our service. Unless this issue can be resolved without purchasing an extender we will be switching our service as our lines come up for renewal. I regret this as we have been very happy with our service. But we should NOT have to purchase anything extra for one line that will not get good reception. Again, we pay $350+/ month for a service that does not work properly, simply RIDICULOUS! Currently the "sys" light flashes red (slow) and the GPS light remains red. Please help this very frustrated customer.

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection. You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Hi all. I´m thinking in becoming a developper because I want to install mavericks beta on my macbook pro (I can´t wait for the battery and ram upgrades). But i have a question before that. It´s posible to upgrade from the latest mavericks beta to the final version? , or Ihave to restore to mavericks final version and then use a time machine Backup?

No one who knows can say, because Mavericks is not released yet.
To get a Free copy that can be updated, you need to have a paid developer membership, at a minimum cost of at least US$100/ annually. (This may also include one Developer Tech Support incident and other benefits.)
Apple has lowered the cost of new versions of Mac OS X to about US$20. If Mavericks is released at about that price, buying a legitimate copy instead of depending on a quirky developer version that cannot be updated should not be a difficult decision.

Upgrading from the Trial

I have just upgraded from the Aperture 2 trial
I bought a disk and instead of installing it just used the serial number to activate my trial
Its fne except from one annoying glitch
On Finder my Aperture Library is still called Aperture Trial Library
Its not going to kill me but I do find it annoying
Any offers on how to sort this, and even if it is ever likely to be a problem?

you can remove it (after getting images out of it), you can rename it ...
the trial version limited your library functionality by design ... but that is gone now and you can begin in earnest to create your "permanent" library ...
