Upgraded harddrive from a failing drive, can't resize the partition

I have an iMac (27 inch). I upgraded my HDD 1TB drive to a 3TB drive because my original drive was failing. I used a stand alone drive cloner (Bytecc BT-340) and after 8+ hours (because of the bad harddrive) I was able to copy the drive.
I had a bootcamp partition and I attempted to boot into windows, the computer hung up indefinitely. Upon reboot the computer would give me a progress bar under the apple logo, it would make some progress, then the computer will shut off.
I made a 2nd attempt at recovering the hard drive info successfully from the original 1TB back into the 3TB. My First step after that was to delete the bootcamp partition to make sure I wouldn't repeat the problem again. Now I can't seem to resize my 750GB partition for my 3TB harddrive. I get a message "Media Kit Reports Partition too small".
I have only attempted to use Disk Utility for this, my issue is that I don't have a reliable backup of my information. I'm only using about 25% of my hard drive capability and I would like to resize my partition but I don't want to chance relying on a failing drive as a backup. Any suggestions?

Here's your only way out. Create a new partition in the free space. Use Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper! to clone your current volume to the new, empty partition. Then verify everything is OK, delete the bottom partition and expand the remaining one.
Your alternative is to buy iPartition 3.3.1 which can handle the problem - $45.00.

Ok, well go and grab a small 2.5" hard drive enclosure so you can put the new drive in & temporarily use it like an external hard drive.
Download Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper and make a bootable clone of your current HDD on the new HDD.
Once that's done you can test the clone by booting from it. To do this hold Optioni while booting to select the external (new) drive. If everything looks ok, you can go ahead and swap over the HDD's.
So much easier.

A 15" mid-2009 MBP RAM specifications are: 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
As has been pointed out, OWC is an excellent source for Mac compatible RAM. Crucial is another first rate source for Mac RAM. RAM from either vendor will work just as well as any purchased from Apple with the bonus of being less expensive and having a lifetime guarantee.

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? If you are printing via a Windows shared printer and it is the Windows user account that you are being prompted for then you can save this in the Keychain, as shown below.

Initially your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Once match completes its scan, your music will have been matched or uploaded. I suggest that you add iCloud status column to song view. This will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, inelligible, duplicate or waiting. What is the status of your tracks that are not playing.
If space is not an issue, I suggest that you keep the music on the internal hard drive otherwise you can delete the tracks and play from cloud. In both instances, you should maintain a back up of all your music on a separate hard drive.

I have a hard drive partitioned into 2 sections. If I delete all the files from part no 2 section can `I remove the partition? ie extend space on partition no.1 so in fact there are no partitions?

Leopard can delete the 2nd volume as is.
Extending #1 I would give a "maybe."
One partition is still a (single) partition.
* I think you are better off doing a clone or backup, and then restore.

Everyone in my household who has upgraded to Snow Leopard has had the same problems with program crashes and the computer "forgetting" registration codes.
In fact, after re-entering codes, and then upgrading to 10.6.1, we had to re-enter them again because it forgot (again) that we had bought/registered the software. It was a lot of fun digging through old emails and such looking for the codes, let me tell you.
I'm pulling a Vista and downgrading my computer back to 10.5.x. That was stable and remembered my software, at least.

Use the esc key when you see the HP logo, it should give you a Startup list, then hit F9 to get a Boot device list, then choose your usb drive from that list and hit enter.

I'm not that familiar with how FaceTime works. I know how to set It up but I don't use it. I just know that you can't activate in the UAE. I believe that you can activate in any country that permits it's use. Whether you will need a new ID or not, I can't confirm.
You can Google this and get all sorts of articles on workarounds. Apparently if you set up a VPN you can use it in the UAE. Here is one article that I found.

Thank's for your efforts, and I just wish that this was the solution. Unfortunately, it isn't because, after double-clicking on the pdf in the website, it simply "opens" in another Safari window as a black screen - the pdf is there, somewhere, but not visible (either as an icon, or as a document).
When I right-click in the black Safari window, where the file is supposed to be, the only option available to display the file is to "Open file in Internet Explorer" (which is not what I want to do). Other options include saving or printing the pdf, which I don't want until I've confirmed that it's the form that I want. The same options are offered if I right-click on the file icon in the website.
Any other suggestions, please?
