Upgraded iPad 2 to the new version and it won't sync any apps and unable to open them

This thread is the closest I have seen to my particular problem.
I have an iPad 3 which my work bought me, and they preinstalled some pay-apps. I then changed AppleID on the machine and downloaded some of mine registered to my own iPad, which worked fine, but now when going back to the work-registered ones, they seem to open and show in the dock thing, but do not launch. I have tried the reset and downloading another free one, at least from my AppleID. Maybe work, with their secret Apple ID need to do this too.... This is hassle, since I am currently on leave.
paulcb.... You sound like maybe you had some experience of this kind of thing.
Any ideas? Anyone?

hi, last night i have just actualized mi ipad to the version 4.3.3 and now i just cant open any app that i've dowloaded. apps that came in the ipad when i bought it work ok, but the others like pages or facebook, or any game when i tap them they pop out and dissappear. Im worried, the most because i dont know if im going to loose the apps that i have bought. Thanks for helping!

Try picas advice. To restart the iPad, Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut down. Hold the sleep button until the Apple Logo appears then let go of the button.
You will not lose any apps that you purchase. You can download them again at no charge even if you do lose them for some reason.

I downloaded the latest issue of National Geographic and now can't open the app

My subscription is up to date and I was able to see the issue initially. I get Newstand, tap on the NG issue, I get the National Geographic logo but then it reverts back to the newstand. The three other magazines on the stand open just fine.

The magazine should appear in the recents tray at the bottom of the iPad screen now so try this.
Quit the app/magazine completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close - in this case the NG magazine app. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Try the app again in the Newsstand and see what happens.

Downloaded new upgrade Firefox and now can't open firefox. I get the following error message "Offline Mode Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the web."

The error message says to uncheck the "work offline" menu. Where is the work offline menu?
I have a Imac and Safari works fine.

The work offline option can be found from Firefox button -> Web developer or from the menubar toolbar -> Work offline (Or at least thats what happens in Windows).
Have you any other reason for being offline; router off, firefox not dialing up or whatever. Or is security software or a firewall blocking firefox, or a network connection, or firefox setting etc set wrongly.

I updated my iPad and now whenever I open an app it changes to upright and will not swing round to be on the side. Can I undo this?

If the app is to be used sideways it's fine but things like Facebook, the internet or Skype won't go sideways now. Some things I do online need to be sideways. It happened after an update I did thing morning. Can I. Be undone, also I would like to undo the update before this one cause I hate the changes to the calendar in particular. Thanks

Check to see that you do not have "rotation lock" engaged.

Updated to OS5 and now can't open any apps (free or purchased).

I'm worried about losing all the data in the Budget app I have been using all year. I can open all the apps that come with the phone but anything I have installed myself just flicker and not open. I have tried re-syncing and re-booting with no luck.

Just downloaded the latest IOS update on my iPad and now can no longer access app's or attachments in my mail box.
I am receiving my e-mail but cannot access the internet, Google etc

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
For Safari... Settings > Safari > Clear History Data & Cookies

It sounds as if you are using the Lightroom 5 version from the creative cloud, and you don't have a subscription. The Lightroom behavior you are describing is what happens when you don't have an active creative cloud subscription. Upgrading catalogs from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom 5 does not do anything to the original catalog if you can find and start Lightroom 4, you should be able to start right where you left off. But any new files that you imported into Lightroom 5 will not be there. They will be on your hard drive and you can import them again. But you are going back to a catalog that was used up until you installed Lightroom 5. Hopefully, you didn't uninstall Lightroom 4.

The app hasn't been updated in almost a year, so it may not be compatible with iOS 5 or 5.1. They have next to no support information on their web site, so you may need to email them:

The normal route for a single app that won't launch is to remove and reinstall it, but that would probably lose all your information unless you have it synched to a computer. I'd suggest contacting the developer.
Update: their Twitter feed says that they've had to do a number of updates for iOS 5.1 to fix an issue that was crashing all their apps under 5.1, and have submitted them to Apple. So stay tuned for a while and look for an update.

Your reply suggests that you have moved Mail to a different location, which (as I said) will prevent it from being properly updated. You cannot use Mail 4.5 with any recent version of Mac OS X. Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) included Mail 5 and Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) includes Mail 6. I'm assuming that you have either Lion or Mountain Lion, but if that is incorrect, you will need to provide that information.
At this point, you will need to reinstall your system. Hold down command-R at startup and reinstall the system right on top of the old one. This should not disturb any of your documents or applications, though you should have backups beforehand in case something goes wrong. And at this point, with your system in an uncertain state (I don't entirely know what you have done to it), something could go wrong.
You will also want to delete the old copy of Mail 4.5, wherever that is. You can't use it.
In the future, do not move any of the preinstalled applications. Leave them where they are.

first things first — buy an external drive to use as a Time Machine backup destination and make a back up. That way, you won’t lose anything which is currently on your MacBook Pro.

You don't take the pictures off the PC you leave them there and tell iTunes that you don't want them on the iPad (by unchecking them) and then sync. That will delete the pictures from the iPad.
