the first thing i check for with one of those is a broken Quicktime. does your Quicktime currently launch, or are you getting an error message when you try to launch it?
if you are getting an error message when you try to launch Quicktime, let's first try a careful standalone QT 7.0.4 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.0.4 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off all antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

Similar problem here. iTunes11 notified me it was available. However, auto-update failed. So, I downloaded for manual update. That failed with "permission" message. I am administrator on this machine (WIN7). I tried uninstalling old version, but it failed with same permission issue. I now can't start iTunes... throws permission message. You've done great so far to upgrade to Leopard & install more RAM. Now install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
After you install the 10.5.8 update, click on the Apple in the menu & select Software Update. You will then be informed of some application updates. iTunes may be one of them. Then click to install the app updates.

There is no fix. It simply means that the software is outdated. Adobe would need to release a newer non-PPC version that supports Lion. They may have done that already, I don't know.

I just upgraded to 10.7.3 and now I can't install any applications.

I just upgraded to 10.7.3 and now I can't install any applications. Everything else in the OS and in applications seems to work OK. After the installers ask for the system password, they do nothing. I doesn't hang; it just won't proceed any further in the install process. I can press the back button and it seems to do that just fine. I repaired the disk permissions, but to no avail.
After I installed 10.7.3, I tried to install an updater that was listed as being recommended for Time Machine users. That was the first time I tried to launch an installer of any sort and it did the same as above. I've gathered since then that the update wasn't necessary and was already included in the 10.7.3 I loaded today.
Any hints?

I'm having a similar problem after installing 10.7.3 and the Messages beta. I've unistalled Mesages with little bit of trouble.. Linc, I followed the step given in your final post any help would be appreciated.
A screenshot of my actual error. I get this error not just for Flash, but also Handbrake. I receieve th error even when I try using a programs automatic update. However, not suprisingly I do not get the message when using Apple's software update.

Photos taken by the iPhone, like any digital camera, should have been uploaded to your computer for safe keeping. Certainly before a major operation like a software update that wipes your phone in the process of updating. If they weren't, and they are not currently on your phone, then they're gone. You can try restoring from a recent backup, but any photos taken between the last backup and the present time will be gone.

I recently upgraded iTunes on my iPad, and now all my music is gone! I just get the iTunes Store, not my own music files. We're can I find them???

Help! My iPad prompted me to upgrade iTunes, so I did. Now all my music is unfindable. All I can see in iTunes is the store and recent purchases. All the other music, audio etc is invisible. Where have the files gone? And does anybody know of a better software management for music? Thanks!

Can you please clarify your problem? iTunes on an ipad is an integral part of iOS 6, so there would be no separate update.
Was the update on your computer and if so, what version of iTunes did you have and what version did you upgrade to.

Hi, just installed iTunes 9 and advised when trying to purchase a film and now I can't access the store. I can access my account etc but just get a blank screen when trying to access store! Have tried technical support but they say it's my computer's problem. Why? when I was on the iTunes store 10 minutes previous! Have limited computer knowledge but any help would be appreciated as I'm about to be flying and need some new films!

I have exactly the same problem. I haven't had access to the iTunes Store since upgrading to 9.0.1 nearly two months ago and none of the suggested fixes have worked for me. I use iolo as my firewall. Does anyone have any ideas?
