Upgraded Mac Pro, now purchased iTunes HD movies won't play

I just upgraded my Mac Pro (2006) to a Mac Pro (2008) so it would be a little faster, be Mountain Lion compliant, etc.  The new Mac Pro has an ATI Radeon HD 5770 and I am continuing to use my 30" Cinema display.
Now when I try to watch a purchased iTunes movie or TV show that I had previously purchased on my old Mac Pro, I get the "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)" message.  When I look at the show listing in iTunes, thay have the joint HD-SD emblem, so they should be able to be played in the lower resolution, correct?
I can't believe that with all of the apple products and media I have purchased, everything 100% apple, I am no longer able to watch apple movies!
Any suggestions?
Thanks
jmac

iTunes rented movies won't play on my PC.  "This movie required QuickTime which this version of iTunes doesn't include."  So I downloaded QT 7 but movies still won't play.  HELP  Very frustrating.

Ok nw the rented film is on the iPad which won't play and when I looked at the Mac I was greeted with an error message saying that the film could nt be transferred because the file had already been transferred somewhere else!  Thing is I can see it on theioad and the Mac still!
Obviously the film Kees checking where it as you can't watch it in two places at the same time. I can understand that but I knw it's not anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is if when time machine backs it up it thinks it's being watched!
    Any ideas anyone?

  • I need an app for my Mac Pro to convert MP4 to MOV  format to play in a DVD player

I need an app for my Mac Book Pro to convert MP4 to MOV  format to play in a DVD player.  Thanks

    Quicktime can do this.
Open the MP4 in Quicktime Player. From the menu bar, File >Export > select quality. The subsequent file will be saved as .mov
Alternatively, you can simply change the extension on the mp4 file to mov since the codec is the same.
*I should mention that .mov format is not DVD format (TS_VIDEO), and the DVD will not play in a DVD player, even if you successfully burn the file to it.

  • Itunes downloaded movie won't play

I've searched the forum but can't find a relevant solution. I purchased and downloaded a movie through iTunes, but when I try to play it I just get a black screen. The controls appear, and I can see screens in the chapters, but it won't play. I deleted and re-downloaded it twice to no avail.

I am having the same problem right now and I can't seem to find an answer, I really wish I could help you :/

  • ITunes rented movie won't play on Apple TV

    Hi
I have rented two movies on iTunes on my Mac of which neither will play on my Apple TV. I can see the movies on Apple TV but when I navigate to watch I get an error message saying that the movie is being watched on another Apple TV or computer and I should stop this first to watch it on the Apple TV.
I know that it's not being played anywhere else. I tried using the iPad to play the film located on the Mac and I get an error saying Cannot Open!
I have only been able to play one movie direct on the Mac as I deleted the other by mistake but the one payed fine and has started the rental period timing.
I tried transferring the entire film to the iPad with syncing and it still won't play.
The only place it will play s on the Mac.
The two rentals are Orange Film To Go films if that makes a difference.
    Please help.

  • Itunes rental movie won't play on apple tv

I'm trying to play an itunes rental movie via itunes on my Windows 8 computer through Apple TV.
Upon trying to play the movie the computer says "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Apple TV".  An unknown error occurred (-41049)."
The TV says "This movie is already being viewed on another Apple TV or computer...."
The movie is NOT playing anywhere else.
Any advice on how to fix this?

My rental stopped about 10 minutes ago and I can't restart it.  Actually, I was just prompted to update Apple TV ... guess they rolled out an update that caused the issue?  Find out here soon ...

You need MS Office 2011 if you've installed Lion.  Previous versions of Office don't work with Lion.

if you want to decode DRM, you simply need to have the "closed keys" to decode them, and the legal right to do it.
For the legal right, it's just a matter of signing a contract with the DRM maker (for example the iPod division has those keys made by the iTunes division).
For the getting the closed keys, it is always possible, but can lead to difficulties in your personal life. look for DeCSS on Wikipedia to understand.

  • Macbook pro now says itunes not supported on this type of Mac.  only change has been addition of Apple TV. how to fix?

My older macbook pro now says itunes not supported "on this type of Mac".  Only change has been addition of Apple TV. The Apple TV remote is also controlling the Macbook.  Is this the problem?  How to fix?

Did you recently update OS X? The icon indicates you have a version of iTunes that is not compatible with the version of OS X you now have installed. The current version is Apple iTunes 11.0.2, and it's compatible with 10.6.8.

  • Buy low end Mac Pro now, upgrade later?

Wondering if it makes sense to buy a low end 2ghz Mac Pro now, and then upgrade later (to for example, higher ghz or maybe a Clovertown cpu).
The difference now is about $300 for a 2ghz versus a 2.66ghz, which I suppose would get me by for some time. Cpu upgrade later would mean having to sell the old cpus, can PCs use these as well as Macs? That would certainly make them easier to sell, and then buy new faster cpus or even a new processor class.

It depends on whether you use the MacPro and applications that benefit from quad-core, from faster cpu, or whether you are memory bound.
I rarely need or use iDVD or iLife and the 2GHz model is plenty for my needs it seems.
I figured the cost of 2x512 extra from RAM (1GB isn't enough you really want 2GB, more if you run DTP or video editing) and I wanted to buy a 10K Raptor which I (and anyone) would find welcome addition.
Before, my SP G4 MDD 1.25 was just not cutting it and was only an 'interim' upgrade from an even older system while I waited for something better than the 2005 G5 series.
Also, 2GHz, for me, is fine and more than enough. If I was doing it again, I would have gotten the 2.66GHz just because it would have shipped faster
Games? professional? bragging rights? I would never plan on having to upgrade cpu, or selling the OEM processor (might want them someday).

  • Since installing Premiere Pro CC 2014 upgrade, Mac Pro jumpy video and freezes constantly

Since installing Premiere Pro CC 2014 upgrade, Mac Pro jumpy video and freezes constantly. Worked perfectly before. Anyone else finding these issues? I'm running a quad core Mac Pro, so it's definitely not the hardware.

I've maxed out the memory assignment, but this isn't a memory problem per se.
It looks like certain Premiere Pro conditions are associated with a huge increase in kernel_task memory, zeroing out any available free memory.  In my case it seems to be associated with effects applied to titles or jpgs  or imported psd (Photoshop) files.
Program restart pulls kernel memory back to the 1.3gb normal size.
Here's where I am at startup:

Or sell and buy ref'd 2010 or 2009 ($2100), you should be able to get $850+ for yours if in good condition.
