Upgraded my phone -now it's silent

I upgraded my pearl with the latest software Blackberry Core 4.5.0 ... It has slowed down my phone quite a bit. The craziest thing about updating is I have lost all sounds. All ringtone files including that that came on the phone when you try to play it says AN ERROR OCCURED WHILE TRYING TO PLAY MEDIA. Because of this I have no ringtones, including no alarm clock!!! Please someone help

It sounds like you had a bad software load, I suggest reloading the software again. You can check out Thundergeeks post below for more info on doing a clean software load

3.1 upgrade busted phone, now can't do hard reset!!

I have a brand new 32GB 3GS phone and it's busted already! It was working fine before the 3.1 upgrade. I have looked at the discussion boards and tried a few things but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKS!!! I'm not impressed at all. I'm a brand new Apple customer and so far my first impressions are not good!

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

TS4268 I upgraded my phone, now facetime and imessaging wont work.

So i upgraded from a iphone 4 to the 4S and I cant get my imessaging or facetime to work. I can sign in and out of the old phone and it still works but the new phone just gets an error message when I try and sign in. What can i do?

Ok, Can you try these:
Turn both FaceTime and iMessage off and then back on in Settings, be sure to wait a minute before your turning them back On. Wait for activation.
If that doesn't work, turn both FaceTime and iMessage Off and reboot your phone by holding down both the Home button on the front, and the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device, wait for the Apple logo to appear. Once back on, turn on either FaceTime or iMessage and wait for activation. Make sure your Cellular network is working and you are connected a Wifi network.
If it still doesn't work, try to Reset Network Settings from Settings > General > Reset.

After the IOS7 Upgrade my phone now randomly types.

I have already restored the iphone 5. The screen twitches, the apps randomly open, and phone freezes.

Same issue here. Nothing new will install, nothing will update. The blue circle spins momentarily, then returns to saying "INSTALL" or "UPDATE".
I have restarted the system, checked that I have enough memory, logged in and out several times. Still happens.

If I upgrade my 3G phone now, but in 6 months want iPhone LTE, will I still get subsidized device?

Basically, I have a Galaxy S on its last leg. I have unlimited text and data as part of my plan.
I want an iPhone, and I'm eligible to get a subsidized upgrade in 5 days. HOWEVER, Verizon has already said that sometime this summer, they are doing away with unlimited data, so it would behoove me to upgrade my phone NOW so that I maintain my unlimited data.
BUT, in 5-6 months, the new iPhone will come out and "more likely than not" be LTE.
Verizon has said that they will basically try to force everyone to move to LTE anyways, which requires a brand new contract, meaning I'll lose my unlimited data anyways.
So my question is:
I need a new phone. My Samsung won't even charge half the time...
So, if i 5 days (May 30) I get an iPhone4S, that will obviously extend my current contract.
If in September/October, Apple announces a 4G LTE iPhone, could I get that phone at the subsidized price?
I ask this because getting a 4G phone requires a 4G contract, meaning that Verizon will cancel my 3G service contract and sign me up under their 4G contract. So technically, wouldn't I be a pseudo "new" customer at the point, and qualify for the subsidized device prices?
If not, I'll just wait the 5+ months for the new iPhone, but if I would qualify for the subsidized LTE device even if I upgrade my device in 5 days, then I'll do it that way so that I can finally bury this phone.

As you have mentioned, you will be in a unique situation when the 3G unlimited data switch occurs.
Currently if you were already on 4G and you wanted the 4S now, you would not be able to then buy the LTE in 6 months with a discount.
It looks as though you can keep your unlimited data if you choose to pay the full retail price for a new phone. Will have to see if that makes sense for you.

Customers who purchase phones at full retail price and are on an unlimited smartphone data plan will be able to keep that plan.
The same pricing and policies will be applied to all 3G and 4GLTE smartphones.

If your iPhone is frozen you must do a hard reboot,
Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.

Downgrading is not supported at all.
If you're running iOS 7 beta and you're not a developer, you cannot get support from Apple.

If you just updated to iOS 5, then you had to hack it to do so. You can only update to the current version, which is 6.1.2.

I see. If you go to Settings>General>About>Name, that is the current name of your phone. The backup bearing that name should be the more recent one, and therefore the one you want to keep. I would delete the other one (presumably the one set up by Best Buy under your real name, assuming you changed it later), then see if that gives you enough space to back up again.
If it still reporting insufficient storage, use this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4847 to try to determine what's taking up all your room. In them meantime, you can perform a manual backup on your computer so your have a current one while you're troubleshooting this. To do so, connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side and select Back Up.

OK. In iTunes on the computer, since you have the ringtones there, one simple method to try would be to drag them to the desktop, and then directly from the desktop to your phone in the Devices menu in iTunes.

Changed plan so I could upgrade phones, now upgrade option is gone....

I just changed our family plan in order to upgrade our phones, 3 of 4 were eligible for an upgrade. I added the unlimited data plan so I could get a smart phone. Anyway, now when I go back to do the actual phone upgrades, they are no longer eligible, presumably because of the new family plan that I just switched to. I'm thinking a call to Customer Service is in my near future.

From what I've read on these boards, it is not possible to upgrade while there is a plan change pending. When did you choose to start the new plan? If you chose to forward-date it to the start of your next billing cycle, you may have to either cancel the change or wait until it goes through to be able to upgrade.
If you chose to start it immediately, or back-date it, you may just have to wait a few days for the computer to process the change.
For future reference, you don't have to change your plan before you upgrade, even if your current plan is not compatible. The online system (or rep you are working with) will prompt you to change your plan to an appropriate one after you select the phone you want, but before you complete the upgrade. That will give you a chance to see the impact of the plan change on your bill.
