  • IPhone4 upgrade to 4.3 - phone now frozen not recognised in iTunes or on PC

    Hi
I've just attempted upgrading my iPhone to 4.3 but all I get now is the 'USB connect to iTunes' graphic on the iPhone screen.
My phone is not recognised in iTunes or on my PCs My Computer, although the PC does recognise the phone as new hardware describing it as Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)
I started the process by syncing the iPhone to iTunes, then downloaded 10.2.1.1 then the 4.3 upgrade. This was all managed by prompts in iTunes. I left it for half an hour to do the upgrade and when I got back it was asking to reboot my PC (running Windows XP). I'm guessing it hadn't completed the iTunes upgrade before asking to upgrade the iPhone.
I've tried a reset but all I get is the apple logo followed by the connect to iTunes logo.
I've not had a problem with any previous upgrades.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I've also tried that. i ended up with all my data gone/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic_ __/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images /migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not- avail.png This has made me very disappointed with apple/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic ___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-image s/migration-img-not-avail.png i want my data back/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic_ __/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images /migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not- avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png All my things even my picture,music,messages,notes,application & CONTACTS/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbssta tic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-im ages/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img- not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sb sstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migratio n-images/migration-img-not-avail.png I need them back/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic_ __/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images /migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not- avail.png Please help me get back my data/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic_ __/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images /migration-img-not-avail.png Please stop this upgrade/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstat ic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-ima ges/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-n ot-avail.png It has harm lots of my friends when they upgraded to 4.3. • IPhone not recognised in iTunes after upgrading to 10.0.1

Hi, I hope someone out there can help with a problem I have with my iPhone 3GS currently running 4.1.
I recently upgraded to iTunes 10.0.1 and iTunes has not worked correctly since.
When I connect my iPhone to PC with a USB I receive the usual pop-up asking what I would like to do with the device, but when I open iTunes, the phone is not located and listed in Devices (devices not even shown on the menu).
    I have tried all manner of different things to fix;
    Restarted PC
    Restarted iPhone
    Opened iTunes before connecting phone
    Connected phone before starting iTunes
    Connected using different USB cables
    Used different USB ports
Restarted Apple Mobile Device and iPod Service in Administrative Tools > Services
Uninstalled 10.0.1 and re-installed a previous version of iTunes
After all this, my iPhone is still not being recognised in iTunes.
Can anybody out there help please??
    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi,
Hopefully someone on here might be able to help me also =)
I can't be 100% certain when but pretty sure it's since I updated to itunes 10 I haven't been able to sync or charge my iphone through my laptop, although it still charges through mains charger. My laptop makes a noise when I plug the iphone in but does not recognise it in windows or itunes. I have tried the above steps but cannot locate the phone anywhere in device manager or when in recovery mode. Have tried different cables and usb drives aswell as restarting etc.
    Any advice appreciated

  • Iphone not recognised in iTunes on new MAC

I’m hoping someone can help? I have been using a PC to sync my iphone in itunes. I have a new Macbook and I want to start syncing my phone with that but the device is not being recognised. I have copied my library across for the PC to the MAC but when I plug my phone in to the MAC it automatically opens iphoto but does not respond to the phone. I have authorised my MAC in itunes and reinstalled itunes twice but still no joy. Has anyone had a successful outcome to a similar problem?

    try this first:
launch *Image Capture* while your iPhone is connected. Image Capture can be found in your computer's applications folder.
go to the Devices pulldown menu and select iPhone. now, go to the Image Capture pulldown menu and select preferences. In the general tab, change +when a camera is connected, open+ to +no application+. click OK, then quit Image Capture.
as for the iPhone not being recognized by iTunes, try the troubleshooting tips here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591?viewlocale=en_US.

  • IPhone not recognised by iTunes 10.4

Since downloading iTunes 10.4 my Mac no longer recognises my iPhones.  I just upgraded to Lion OSX 10.7 in the hope that would fix it.  Alas, I still can't see my phones in iTunes, so I can't sync them.
I've tried everything including reinstalling iTunes, putting the correct iTunesHelper into login items, checking and unchecking the "prevent ipods, iphones from syncing automatically" in iTunes.
    Please help!!!!!

    You were right.
I've read other forums suggesting that it was due to the cable but I ignored it as my cable was like yours - it charges fine and also, in another computer - it charges and recognized the device just fine.
After reading your post, I tried it with another iPhone cable and it miraculously worked. My iPhone is recognized by iTunes.
The things is, both cables are in normal condition and are both genuine Apple cables.
I'm glad mine's finally recognized though

  • Iphone not recognised in itunes, iphone not recognised in itunes

Windows XP , iPhone 4 Itunes latest.
I have followed ALL of the suggestions to resolve why my iPhone does not show in iTunes. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
It worked before although everytime iTunes updated I had problems connecting again.
When iPhone is plugged in to usb windows recognises it as a camera no prob.
    Cheers

I have the same problem too. My phone wont show on my pc that's why I can't move my photos. But it does show on itunes.
Then I went to device manager and this is what I found. I dont know what to do though.

  • 2 weeks of trying still iphone not recognised with itunes!!!!!!!!

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ready to smash iphone with hammer.
tried everything, uninstall, UAC off, hidden admin in vista,
    deleting infcache1 file,
everything and still cannot get iphone to sync with itunes charge battery or anything.
    apple support is hopeless!!!!!!
    please help!

Just so we're all on the same page here, when you say "I have done that everytime it fails to install." did you follow the steps exactly as outlined in the two referenced support documents or did you just try & do things on your own? If the later, I'd suggest you follow the steps as outlined. If in fact you have followed these steps, I'm sorry but I have no further suggestions.

  • 3.1.2 upgrade now iphone not working!

Have iphone 3g and on advise didn't upgrade to os 3.1 due to shut down problems. When I heard 3.1.2 was out I upgraded this morning. Phone now shows "connect to itunes" and when I do it doesn't show up in itunes, also tried hard re-set but still just shows "connect to itunes". Any ideas??

    Try recovery mode:
    1. Start iTunes
    2. Connect iPhone to a USB port on your Mac (not an external hub or port on keyboard).
    3. Press BOTH home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears, then continue pressing home button ALONE until iTunes sees the phone in recovery mode.
    4. Follow prompts to restore.

  • IPhone not recognised in iTunes

    Hello there,
I'm having trouble with my iPhone 3G-S in that iTunes isn't recognising it as connected. It's fully connected, I have the latest version of itunes (i've just this second downloaded it) and the AMDS is 'started'.
The only thing my iPhone screen is showing is a picture of a cable with an arrow pointing to 'itunes'. But it's plugged in. And if it helps, the iPhone isn't registering on my computer either.
Pleeeeeease help, I've not had it long and have just got used to it :-/
    Many thanks,
    Jonno

Ok, well firstly thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately, this guide hasn't helped.
I'm runnning the right computer software (hence why it's worked before)
The phone battery is fine and not flat
I've tried using different USB 2.0 ports
    I've restarted the iPhone
    Restarted the computer
And already downloaded the latest version of iTunes.
Is there anything else i can do?
    Thanks again

  • TS1538 I have just installed Windows 8.1 and now my ipad and iphone are not recognised in iTunes, can anyone help?

    Hi everyone,
This is my first post so if I've made any mistakes please forgive me. I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8.1 Professional however, now my iPad and iPhone are not recognised in iTunes. I have checked Device Manager and the iPad is listed, I also asked it to update the driver but it informed me that I have the most up to date version. Can anyone help please?

    Hi Skydiver119,
Many thanks for your prompt reply however, I found this post and it worked perfectly. I hope it helps other users.
Plug your Ipad USB cable into USB port.
Go to your Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, then click Device Manager.
Click on Portable Devices, and you should see Apple Ipad shown (or whatever apple device your using).
Right-click the Apple Device your using, and choose Update Driver Software..
Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. (If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.)
In the "Install from Disk" dialog, click the Browse button.
Use this window to navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click OK in the "Install from Disk" dialog.
Click Next and finish the driver-installation steps. Open iTunes to verify that the device is recognized properly.
