Upgraded to 10.5.8 and now can't see either of my networked printers
Hello all, I just upgraded my G5 dual 2.5 to 10.5.8. I have two printers that are both connected to separate Airport Extremes. My G5 ethernet port is connected to a linksys WET11 wireless ethernet bridge, which is in turn connected to the wi-fi network of the main airport. Here is my problem. I can surf the web just fine, so clearly my G5 is seeing the Airport. However ever since upgrading to 10.5.8 I can't add either of my networked printers in the printer setup. It just doesn't see any printers. I've reset the printing in the OS (control clicking on the print prefs and resetting followed by reboot) I've rebooted both the printer and the airport separately and I've double checked that the printer is set as a shared printer in the airport admin software. My laptop (an ibook g4) also running 10.5.8, has no problem seeing both networked printers and printing to them. I'm flummoxed as to why my tower suddenly can't. (It could see both with the exact same setup running 10.4.11) Any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated, since this is very frustrating! thanks,

Your network setup is a little complicated. Can you explain it a little better and confirm that there's only one DHCP server in it - all devices get IP addresses from one of the Airport Extremes, for example?
It sounds like maybe you have two or more separated subnets.

I've tried opening straight into other apps and just get error messages, and I the mail preview there is just a grey screen telling me the file name and size. It worked fine until I did the IOS upgrade

Absolutely right. I restarted in Safe Mode. This enabled me to see the actual text on the screen. Then I backed up. Then reinstalled. All fixed.

Hi folks, you might know how to fix this: my wifi shows (no hardware installed) then I went to system preferences and deleted the wifi connection, I went also to system information and I can not see wifi listed on Network, how can I create a new wifi or simply solve this, I have tryied shotdown pressing keys like P and R, option, etc. Please help me .

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Upgraded to 6.0.5 and now can't buy music
I mistakenly upgraded to 6.0.5 and now I can't buy music. Whenever I click on "buy song" I just get the colored spinning ball for hours. I have to force quit just to get out. Anyone have any suggestions?

i've just upgraded to os 10.8.4 and now i can't open canon raw files in photoshop cs5 with camera raw plug in 6.7 which worked perfectly prior to the upgrade....anyone else encountered this issue?
Adobe's software is a mess in terms of the fact that it's sprayed all over the place and may not survive an OS upgrade. Try reinstalling Photoshop CS5.

Upgrading to iTunes 7.6 and now can't burn any playlists

I've finally upgraded to iTunes 7.6 and it now won't let me burn any playlists. When I try, it asks me to insert a blank disc, which I do, it then says checking media and then nothing. I've rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled and still the same issue. Before I upgraded I had no problem burning a cd, plus after upgrading, I've tried to burn other things off of my computer and that all still works. Any suggestions?Having the same frustrating problem and have spent hours tryinhg to figure out. E-mail to iTunes support was pretty much useless and they finally advised me to contact an Apple Service Technician. If you find out, please post or let me know [email protected] Staples said for $40 they could fix. Hate to pay it. Thanks.

No version of Reader ever came with the PDF printer. Maybe you had Acrobat

I have two printers installed and they work fine with all programs except Firefox. I recently upgraded to version 9 beta. I either need to be able to print from Firefox or to roll my version back to 8.
Get Firefox 8 from here and you can install it on top of current version, just download and run

After installing Yosemite & "iCloud Drive" on MacBook Air, I cannot see files previously stored on iCloud.
But I can get to files on iCloud using my Macs still with old operating system (OS X 10.8.5).
I copied all files from both iCloud and iCloud Drive to thumb drives until decide what to do.You cannot revert back to iCloud after enabling iCloud Drive on your MacBook Air. If you want to be able to access your documents on all your Macs you'll have to upgrade the others to Yosemite and enable iCloud Drive on them too.

Setup problem and now can't see time capsule
On Friday, I used Airport utility to set up Time Capsule. There was a choice saying "do you want to add on to or replace and existing router?", to which I said yes. at the end of the setup, Airport asked "Do you want to replace the existing router now?" and I said no because I don't want to replace it yet. That seemed to confuse Time Capsule.
On Monday, I disconnected the existing router and I tried to hook Time Capsule up to the DSL modem. Time Capsule didn't recognize the internet and my computer wouldn't recognize TC. Time Capsule is now not connected to anything (I reinstalled the old router and it is working fine). My computer can't see it an neither can Airport Utility. I tried to rescan but nothing comes up. Does anyone know what is wrong and how I fix it?The only way to tell is remove the drive and test it.
I would do a reset of the TC first. Just hold in the reset button for about 7sec and wait for it to reboot. A reset will not do anything to your files. Then try again to access. If no luck the drive is probably dead. Either replace the whole TC under warranty.. or if you have no warranty left/drive contains valuable info, open up the TC.. plenty of sites explain how to upgrade to a bigger drive. just follow them. Put the drive into a USB carrier and plug it in or even better use it directly on sata port. -
Installed Lion and now can't see or print shipping labels from ebay anymore
I am a ebay seller and I print several shipping labels every day from the ebay website, everything was ok until I installed Lion OS, now I buy the label but I can't see it nor print it. I spent 2 hours with apple and ebay on the phone and they couldn't solve the problem, I tried firefox and same problem. Please help!!!

Recently changed wireless routers and now can't see airport
Had airport express working fine with windows 8.1. Now I have upgraded my router and I no longer see the airport. How do I reconnect?
You have a new network....and the AirPort remembers your old one, which is no longer there.
The solution is to reset the Express back to factory default settings and then set it up again to connect to your new network, just like you did when you set it up to connect to your old network.
Power up the Express for a few minutes
Hold in the reset button firmly for 10 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
The Express is now back to new, out of the box settings, so you can set it up again.
