Upgraded to 3.1 and lost all users and groups. How do we get them back?
We ran the update to Server 3.1 (from 3.0) on our Mavericks Mac-Mini Server.
Everything had been fine before the update, but now all users and groups have completely disappeared.
The only user we have is the main administrator log-in.
Since we verified that all of our data, wikis, and other items are still in place, it might be easier to just re-create the groups and users (and permission therein).
But, we cannot log into Workgroup Manager, nor can we add users/groups in the Server app (because it is "grayed-out").
Can somebody please provide a suggestion??
We are a small engineering firm with only 5 users, so it's not like this would take all day.

sudo sso_util configure -r REALM_NAME -a diradmin afp

Addresses and other details gone too. I've got four numbers in "Favorites" but no context for them beyond location by state. If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it. -

Have you copied everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one?

I had to do a system restore and lost all my bookmarks. How do I get them back?
I did not know that if I did a system restore that I would loose all my bookmarks.
It is possible that the system restore restored an older copy of the profiles.ini file that doesn't have your current Firefox profile folder.

You can check if there are more profile folders and if that is the case then you can either recover data from that profile or use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and click the "Choose Folder" button and browse to that lost profile folder to re-register this lost profile. Firefox will recognize that profile and you should have all data back.

Synch your contacts back from whichever program on your computer you've stored them in (Outlook, Address Book) or from your cloud service.
Not using your phone as indended and didn't have your contacts on your computer or with a cloud service? Then they're gone. -

Are you sure, you are viewing the correct iPhoto library? iPhoto may have created a new Library.
Hold down the alt/options key ⌥, while you double click iPhoto to launch it. Is there more than one Photo Library in the panel that opens? Then try the other libraries, if your photos are in there.

Did you backup the iPad first? If you did - restore from the backup in order to restore the photos in the Saved Album on your iPad. If the photos were synced to the iPad, then sync them back again via iTunes.

If you did backup first, you will be restoring your most recent backup and you should be OK. But know that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything that is in that backup onto the iPad .... All documents, device settings, all data and so on. You cannot just select photos to restore to the iPad. It's all or nothing. -

Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you lost your bookmarks. In order to check if they are still there you can look in the profile folder on the computer [[Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles]]
As for syncing from the android, it is possible to add the account to the desktop and the two should merge. -

Contacts are stored on your computer or on a compatible cloud based service. so sync them back to the phone

Thanks LeeYou will need to restore them from your backup. If you did not make a backup, then you may be out of luck since audiobooks are one of the few items for which redownloading is not possible, but you can contact the iTunes Store, explain the problem, and ask:

I downloaded iso5 and lost all my apps. I know i can get them back but what about all the documents i have now lost through Pages? And to a lesser extent the levels and scores i got to with my games (eg. angry birds)?
On your iPad tap Settings > Store
Make sure Apps is switched on.
For Documetns tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure Documents & Data ia switched on.
Now resrtart your iPad. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. -
