Upgraded to 5S from 5 and hate iOS7 - can I sell the 5S?
Just picked up a new 5S and it just doesn't feel right with iOS7 and I want to go back to my 5 that's still on iOS6. I've swapped SIM cards and the 5 seems fine. Can I now sell the 5S or do I have to return it for a refund? I checked the AT&T site and it shows my 5 is registered and its IMEI is correct.

And??? They gave you the phone, you got another year with them. How does that translate to being unable to sell it?
You did not even need to tell them what you were going to do. If switching the sim worked, which there was no reason it wouldn't, then that's it.
AT&T is out of the picture as it just provides the service, they cannot tell you what to do with the devices.
You are not cancelling the service or the extra year. Just changing the device you use. They cannot limit that in any way. Nor tell what you can do with the device.

Go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars. Delete the Exchange account. Reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. Add the account back.

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? I just upgraded my iMac to OS 10.8.5 from 10.6.8 and now I can not get the calendars on my Mac and my iPhone 4s (running iOS 8.3) to sync. I already tried replacing the calendars on the phone with those on my computer but nothing happened.

I upgraded to IOS 7 and now I can't get my Hotmail account on my phone. When I type in all the information, I get "Unable to Verify Account Information". How do I get to use my Hotmail account using this software????
I have had the same problem as yours on my Ipad after upgraded Procreate 2.01. My iOS is 7.04. I tried to find solution from internet for weeks. Fortunately, the problem was resolved a few minutes ago. It is very simple,
1. Lunch outlook.com to confirm you can access hotmail mailbox. It means your account is Ok.
2. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.Delete your hotmail account from your device.(my device is Ipad)
3. Turn off your device, then turn on again.
4. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and create your hotmail account by tap outlook.com. Be sure the incoming mail server is pop3.live.com.
5. Waiting for validation.

I just got an iPhone 5s, and I restored from a previous back up (mistake) and now I can't restore the phone to start again without "turning off the find my iphone setting" but it's using an old email address as the icloud login, which i don't have a password to / never used for an icloud account. I have gone and changed my settings to a different email on my icloud / apple ID but on my phone it won't let me change the email address for icloud, it's greyed over and keeps trying to verify?

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I don't immediately see a MacBook5,4 around, but I do see a Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz 15" model MC118LL/A Mid-2009, and that configuration does reportedly support up to 8 GB of memory per the Apple Specs.
Apple might not stock or offer memory upgrades that far back (but do ask them), though I'd expect various third-party memory providers will likely still have some 4 GB 1066 MHz SO-DIMM DDR3 memory sticks around.
But if yours is really a MacBook5,4 model here — the closest I can find is a MacBook5,2 — then ignore this. -

DO you have any more information? Like did you lose your glasses, turn the monitor off or are you trying to look for the photos via the finder?
If the latter is the case, The basic answer is to export them to a desktop folder and access them from there

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and now I can't use any of my software!
What a disaster and huge mistake. Upgraded to Mountain Lion and now I can't run Autocad 2012 for Mac, any of my Adobe Creative suites software such as Photoshop, Illustrator.. and now I can't even do upgrades because Mountain Lion doesn't allow me to launch DMGs. I've lost thousands of $'s in software, not to mention time, but most importantly now I can't even work! I just tried to revert back to Snow Leopard by intalling it back in my hard drive and it won't let me. I never used Time Machine. Is there any way on earth I can revert back to my old operating software??? Please help. And if you haven't upgraded yet and are thinking about it. BEWARE - and don't do it. I've been reading that Mountain Lion isn't working with Microsoft applications either. Omy...I haven't even checked that.

No you are not, calm down, cbs20 already gave you the answer on opening dmg files, updates are available for most of your programs and I assume you have licenses for the Adobe products. AutoCad you'll have to wait for.
And please .... Start Backing Things Up, you could lose it all without one, work included. -
I have IMac 10.7.5 Lion I use I forgot the password and I did a few fixes from web sites, which did not work and now I can not get the computer to reboot the gray screen comes on with the apple and if a shift+c, I get a load bar and it goes half way and stops, I can get into the black screen area with the hard drive info
I did the following: mount -uw / rm/var/db/.AppleSetupDone shutdown/uses/us reboot Ok I know I should not have, but now I need help to reboot and hopefully not lose everything on the desk top, Linda MarkleYou did the wrong things. In the future it's a good idea to remember not to do something when you don't know what you are doing and what happens when you do it.

When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow

I am currently running OSX 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro. Can I upgrade straight to Yosemite and if I can what issues will I face?
1. It depends on what Mac model you have. If it's incapable of running Yosemite, installing an intermediate version won't help with that.
2. You'll lose the ability to run PowerPC software, and some other programs may also be incompatible. If something goes wrong, you might lose data; back your computer up first. There aren't any issues specifically associated with skipping versions.

selling macbook Pro 2011. It came with Lion, I upgraded to mountain Lion and Mavericks. Can license be transfer to new owner? how?
Good question now that Mavericks is free to all.
It used to be - and is probably still the case - that to comply with the license you should erase and re-install the OS that came pre-installed on the Mac when new. If there were restore disks they needed to be passed on with the Mac.
I'm happy to be corrected on this by someone who's more au fait with the legalese, but an upgraded OS is tied to an AppleID whereas the original OS is tied to the computer, not an AppleID.
My guess is, that if you launched the Recovery HD, erased the drive using Disk Utility and re-installed the OS, Lion would be installed.
Be interesting to see what others say. -
I just upgraded to OS X Lion and now I can't open the application Adobe ImageReady CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
There is no fix. It simply means that the software is outdated. Adobe would need to release a newer non-PPC version that supports Lion. They may have done that already, I don't know.

After downloading a pdf from a website, how can I view the file in Safari 6.0.4 (just as I can in Safari 5.0.6)? I bet that it's simple, but I've missed something, somewhere, and a solution will be greatly appreciated.

Thank's for your efforts, and I just wish that this was the solution. Unfortunately, it isn't because, after double-clicking on the pdf in the website, it simply "opens" in another Safari window as a black screen - the pdf is there, somewhere, but not visible (either as an icon, or as a document).
When I right-click in the black Safari window, where the file is supposed to be, the only option available to display the file is to "Open file in Internet Explorer" (which is not what I want to do). Other options include saving or printing the pdf, which I don't want until I've confirmed that it's the form that I want. The same options are offered if I right-click on the file icon in the website.
Any other suggestions, please?
