Upgraded to 7.1 and youtube will no longer expand to full screen on IPad
When watching youtube videos in Safari, I click on the expand box, all of the other video thumbnails disappear but the viewing frame never expands. (Everything was fine until I loaded ios 7.1.)
Anyone else experiencing this?
Youtube (Google) could be the culprit: I noticed the Youtube "detail tab" on the top left has changed as well.
Sure, SBerman, I could download the Youtube app but frankly, I find it irritating to need to do this. Not only does my device get completely cluttered with too many apps, I, like Jamieryan157, am suspect of Google's motives and what I don't know.
As I was taught years ago, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Apparently that is no longer part of a Computer Science Curriculum.
As a consumer, I'm fed up with all these jokers forcing their little apps down our throats and we need to push back: unless there is unique functionality and features provided by a dedicated app framework, either work in a browser or I'll find another product to meet my needs! (Uuuurrrrgh!)

You can suggest it to Apple all you want, but given that Apple has been getting rid of everything Google-related lately (that's why iOS 6 has a new non-Google maps app)...
Aside from the new YouTube app from Google, you can still use YouTube in Safari and save a home screen icon for it. -
I hadn't used Muse in a while and opened Abobe Muse, it informed me that it need to be updated along with Adobe Air. Somehow I interrupted the upgrade and it will no longer open as a program. I am not sure if I should uninstall the program and reinstall it?

I upgraded my hard drive and my ipod no longer recognizes my computer. It will not sync. What should I do?
- First get iTunes to see the iPod:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
- The transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- For non-iTunes purchased music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

- Connect the iPOd to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. -
2nd generation ipod touch is pretty much no good anymore? It is not able to upgrade to iOS5.1 and so will not work with many Apps in the iTunes store? Is there a way to find out if the App will work before you download?
Look to the app developer to provide that information when browsing the iTunes Store.
The iPod Touch still works, so what's your problem with it? It still works with older apps, it still does what it's intended to do.
If you aren't happy then sell it and buy a new one. -
What's the proper protocol for a reset on my ipod touch 4g? iOS 6 has totally jacked it up and it will no longer do anything but crash, and won't sync with itunes wirelessly or by cable.
It's a 64G ipod touch and was fine till Apple told me to upgrade to ios 6. Now most of my apps crash, my music won't play and I just get a white screen when I hit Music.
When I try to sync to itunes it acts like it's going to sync and appears to recognize the ipod, but it's grayed out and has an update circle by it that spins for a while until itunes eventually freezes alltogether. I dropped my 2009 MacBook Pro and it will no longer work; I need to re-install the OS software to hopefully restore it: what OS disk(s) do I use? This may sound like a stupid question but I'm seeking to buy something inexpensive and need to know if a higher version (other than what was initially installed) will work.

since you didn’t receive its original grey installation DVDs when you purchased it, you’ll need to contact Apple directly to purchase a replacement pair. (The grey installation discs aren’t available in the Apple stores.) Some Mid 2009 models originally came with 10.5.7 (Leopard), and some originally came with 10.6.0 or 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). If yours had 10.5.7 installed, then you’ll probably receive a 10.5.7 set of grey discs from Apple. If you’d like to upgrade its OS to anything newer, then you’d also need to purchase the white retail Snow Leopard DVD — but you should wait to see what Apple sends you, since if they send you a 10.6.0 or 10.6.2 set, you wouldn’t need to purchase the white Snow Leopard disc. -
I have ipod touch 1st gen and it will no longer detect that i have headphones in the headphone jack and so i cannot turn up my volume. Is there any way it can be fixed?
Have you tried:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

Games I bought years ago, Texas Holdem and iQuiz will no longer transfer to my iPod Classic. They show in my computer "Apps" but they won't transfer. They no longer show that they can be "Re-Downloaded" from "Previously Purchased" they don't exist there.

This problem presented itself out of the blue. The Save As dialog box expanded to full screen, and although the arrows that appear when the mouse cursor is over the edge of a window are present, they flicker and do not grab the edge to pull it in. Every other window on the computer does not have an issue like this. Restarting Firefox or the computer does not eliminate the problem. I am hoping that there is a settings file somewhere that the numeric value for the dialog box size can be changed, since I do not want to completely reinstall the browser.
As a side note, if the browser has been running many downloads for a while, it will usually start failing to display information, and eventually will get to a point where the Save As box flickers for an instant and disappears and the entire browser becomes unresponsive for an hour or more. Downloads continue (including the one that it froze up on, albeit as a randomly named file in User...Temp), but it is not possible to restart the browser until the downloads complete (which in some cases can be several hours). Usually I revert to using IE11 until I can restart Firefox.
Perhaps one of my strongest dislikes of Firefox though is the issue with its resistance to copy and paste operations in the Save As dialog box. Most websites offer files with cryptic and even identical names for different files, so renaming files is a critical operation if one is to keep track of and later identify the files one has. A problem unique to Firefox, attempts to highlight and paste in a better file name usually are met with a refusal to paste, a stuck context menu that can take a minute of clicking to clear, repeated jumping to the end of the file name, and other similar issues. I have encountered this problem repeatedly on different computers and different operating systems, it is a problem I have only ever encountered in Firefox.cor-el,
I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns. -
I have two 2nd generation iPods and iTunes will no longer let me delete music from either one. If I select a song, "Delete" is gray in the menu and cannot be selected. What's happened? New iTunes not compatible?
In order to manually remove music from the iPod via iTunes, you need to have the Manually manage music and videos option checked from under each iPod's Summary tab.

Well first you locate your Caps Lock key. It is located above shift, and below tab. Now you press it, and take a deep breath. If your iPod is outside of its service, have you looked into other options like local repair shops? Sometimes they still service older products.

MBp will not start up. Was woking fine and shut down and put to charge and now will not power back up. Screen will light up but then powers shuts back down. Any thoughts???

My calendar on my iPhone and iCloud will sync between each other. But my iPad will not synch.
On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Calendars off then back on then reset the iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
On my ipad when I go to settings, music, turn on iTunes Match it is telling me it is going to replace the music on this device ? What does that mean and what will that do to the music on my ipad now?

Important:
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
