Upgraded to 7.6.2... wait... no...

iTunes has been bugging me for days that there's a 7.6.2 update. So I go to Software Update, and it says I'm all up to date! So I go back and re-check the 'About iTunes' and it says I'm on 7.6.1 (9). Fine then. I go to the Apple site and download the latest iTunes installer. I run it. It says I'm all upgraded. iTunes relaunches... and it's still 7.6.1 (9). What the heck?

Which would lead me to ask. "Just how many copies of iTunes do you have on your machine?"
Run a search for iTunes.app and see what pops up. You may have updated the one in the Applications folder but the Dock shortcut is linked to another copy that is ratholed on your hard drive somewhere.

  • No service on IPad 2 after upgrade to IOS 8. Waited a month to try it. A restart brings connectivity back for a while. If the iPad 2 was too old to receive this upgrade it should have been excluded from it.

Upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8. Waited a month as I saw all the problems other users were having. Now I am with them. No service. Connectivity restored only after a restart . These are necessary frequently. Last week I had a fully functioning iPad now I do not.
If the IPad 2 was not capable of handling the upgrade it should have been excluded. I have read the fixes, tried some, apprehensive about trying others. Why should the customers have to work to fix an upgrade meant to improve performance?
Any news on an IOS fix?
Any solutions other than wiping out  everything and starting over? Have seen that several times. Backing up, wiping clean, refreshing, restoring...why do we have to struggle?
i am spending way too much time trying to get my iPad back to what I had. I am sure the genius bar is packed with iphone 6 users and the new edition iPads. No room for folks with "old" ones. And if I try something and fail then I have nothing at all.
Hoping for a "fix" from Apple as well as any ideas.

    Hello, ik31.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.

  • Upgrade to Snow Leopard or wait for Lion?

I'm currently using a first generation Intel iMac (2.0Ghz and 3gb RAM) running Leopard.  It covers 90% of my computer needs as is, but I want to keep it humming along for as long as possible.  I was all set to pull the triger on the Snow Leopard upgrade, then I remembered Lion is expected to ship soon.
My question is this, should I spend the $30 to upgrade to SL now or hold out and spend possibly more money to upgrade to Lion when it comes out?  Honestly, I'm more concerned about streamlining my system and improving performance than having the latest bells and whistles.  I'm also concerned that my iMac may not be quite up to par for running Lion (I do plan up max out the RAM at 6gb).  On the flip side, it seems I am always one OS behind.  And it seems kind of dumb to upgrade knowing a new OS is just around the corner.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!

As far as we know Lion is due out sometime in the summer based on prior Apple announcements.  If that's soon enough for you then wait.  On the other hand Lion may have features you don't need and Snow Leopard would prove quite adequate.

  • Anyone else promised a year of training to upgrade to Cs4? Still waiting?

I have now been waiting for almost two months for Adobe to come up with the incentive that they offered if I were to upgrade to Photoshop Cs4. I have spent hours on the phone to Mumbai and Customer Support in the USA. My case has been "upgraded" and the reps have agreed that I am owed the training. The last promise that the issue would be resolved was made 22 days ago. I have had a file open in the Customer Portal since June 30.
I must say it has been enjoyable talking to all the terrific reps in India. We have spent hours while they tell me they have no idea whatever what I am talking about and asking me to explain the case again, and again. It is all on their file, which is updated each time I call. I am calling again right now. I'm 17 minutes into listening to some of the worst canned music on the planet. If I am lucky they won't patch me through to Adobe sales in the states, who can do nothing and are fed up hearing about these things, or a car dealership in Reno Nevada, which happened once, honest.
If I am really lucky I will get a service rep who knows how to upgrade the file to someone who will actually do something. Unlike the last time they said they would ...
Here is the content of my original file on the support portal:
    "Order number: xxxxxxxxx
I received an offer from Adobe at my email address [email protected] on June 25 that offered specifically:
"Buy now, and get a free 12-month subscription to online training, including training on Photoshop CS4, Lightroom 2, and the entire
    Adobe Creative Suite® 4 product line—a US$160 value.*"
"*Purchase a full or upgrade version of Adobe Photoshop CS4, Photoshop CS4 Extended, or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2, and receive a 1
2-month subscription to online training provided by Total Training, a US$160 value. This offer is available from June 15, 2009 throu
gh July 31, 2009. This offer is only available to recipients of this e-mail, and product must be purchased through the Adobe Store."
I subsequently purchased an upgrade for PsCs4 on June 29th, online, as noted above. ...
The customer service reps had no idea about the email offer and...
Today I have spent over 4 hours (and counting) on the phone with Adobe. I have been on hold about half that time, and I have been tr
ansferred to the correct department which deals with problems with downloaded software but which never answers the phone. I have now
spent one hour and fifteen minutes waiting ... One service rep actually connected me to a Buick dealership in Reno, Nevada instead. ... "
The case was closed by Adobe once and marked "Resolved". I re-opened it. I wonder if Adobe expects me to simply drop this if they ignore me long enough. I won't.
Did anyone else get this offer? Did you get the training? Just curious.
22 minutes waiting for Adobe to answer the phone now ...
    Katherine

Amazing, and there was I thinking I was the only one being given the Adobe run around.
Seems you have had more luck than me but I did post the following on consumeraffairs.com and am thinking or registering a complaint at the Attorney General Office where I have a studio in New York, California and Texas.
Please let me know if you have any joy getting what you paid for :-
You may care, together with anyone else who is an Adobe customer and is no getting what they paid for, like to write a complaint to consumeraffairs.com.
The following is the email I sent yesterday and they responded this morning that they would publish my complaint and look in to the matter -
What a nightmare dealing with Adobe - bought Photoshop CS4 5 weeks ago and have been unable to get any help - 6 calls to customer service have varied in time waiting from 37 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.  In 4 of those instances I just could not hold any longer and the 2 other occasions I spoke to a representative that I just could not understand - I had to keep on telling them to slow down and speak clearly.
Eventually, in desperation I called Helen Pethick - 408 536 6000 - supposedly the director of customer relations  who has not returned any of my calls.
So they have my $800 and I have nothing - how very sad from a company that so many of my photographic colleagues had and have to rely on.
Is this kind of thing normal with Adobe?
Is there another company out there doing anything similar to Adobe?
I could see that enough people feel like I do and are for want of a better sentiment, feeling they are being ripped off by Adobe, then it will not be long before they are facing some kind of class action - you just cannot take customers money and not give them what they paid for and then ignore them.
To add insult to injury, this company has the audacity to end their conversations with, 'We want to thank you for being so important to Adobe'  -  I cant imagine what a customer who isn't important must go through.

  • Get the upgrade to Version 6 or wait?

I am still using FCStudio with version 5.1.4 of Final Cut Pro. I want to upgrade to FCP 6. Do you think its okay to do so now or is there a newer version on the horizon that I should hold out for? I just hate to pay the $499 upgrade price then a few months later they come out with a newer version!
    thanks!

This is the upgrade mantra. Repeat after me: " If you need what it offers now, buy it now. If you don't need it now, then wait."

  • Upgrade now or endure painful wait til MARCH for a cool new phone?

So I am due for my upgrade now with Verizon.  I have been wanting a smartphone for a long time and that is still what I plan on getting.  I gritted my teeth and endured the long wait to see what VZW would unveil at the CES in Vegas this past weekend and those new 4g phones look nice...but I sure as heck thought they would launch within 3 weeks or so and not 'til MARCH?!  WOW.  Now this throws a wrench into the whole thing.  No, there is no 4g LTE coverage from VZW where I live now, but could it be right around the corner?  Part of me says wait and get a 4g phone and the other part of me says get a 3g phone now, as LTE will take a while to be complete and also "to work out all the kinks", as with any new technology.  Another wrench into my whole decision-making process is the iPhone.  With this pending release/announcement coming tomorrow, it's going to tick me off even more because it sounds like they are going to launch it even faster than the new phones they showed off at the CES in Las Vegas.  How did they swing that?!  Stupid fruit.  I have done a lot of reading about iOS vs. Android in the past 3 weeks and I have to say I am leaning towards Android right now....
What are your guys' thoughts?  Someone has probably thought of something that I have not...
My upgrades always seem to come at the WORST possible time.

To me, it seems your upgrade came at the best possible time! New devices are being announced, and you get a month or two to do your research.
Whatever you decide, there will always be something new and better around the corner. So choose something you will be happy with for at least 20 months. Or choose a phone with a high resale value to offset buying your next phone at retail.
    Good luck deciding!

  • Upgraded to Lion, should have waited...

I upgraded my 2007 Mac Pro 3GHz 8-core excellently-working, fully-updated Snow Leopard system to Lion last night.
And I am stunned at how slow everything now is on my machine.
I guess I should have waited for updates to appear, but I was an idiot and trusted all of the positive reviews on the App Store.
I am very disappointed with Lion and should have stuck with Snow Leopard (which is probably by far the best OS Apple has made).

  • Upgrade to CS5.5 or wait for CS6.0?

I currently have Flash Pro CS5.0. The free Flash Pro CS5.5 trial has ended. I don't feel like spending $120 for the upgrade and then upgrading again to Flash Pro CS6.0. I do need to use the latest AIR. What is the smartest way to handle this?
    Thanks!

Adobe is now offering free upgrades to CS6 versions if you purchase CS5.5 versions between now and release.
Order the current version of Adobe® Creative Suite® software and get CS6 at no additional cost. You will receive an email 10 days after the ship of Creative Suite 6 with redemption instructions and a promotional code.

  • Should I upgrade my HDD or better wait?

so, what is the verdict on SSD drives with Snow Leopard? Are they fully supported?
I want to buy an SSD to replace my 5400rpm drive but I don't know if they are supported with Snow Leopard. Particularly the issue with SSD getting slower (writing) over time and TRIM command. Is it really a big deal or people making a big deal?
I talked with someone at Apple support and they couldn't even come close on answering my question about this. Either he had no idea about the TRIM command or he intentionally tried to avoid answering.
Can someone using SSD for a long time provide some input? Is the drive really getting slower? Do users notice the difference?
Is it better to maybe get a 7200rpm drive and wait until Snow Leopard better supports SSD or maybe even wait for next generation SSDs?
    What do you think?

    xsi wrote:

I don't have one, but from what I read they are fully supported enough that if I wanted one, then I'd go for it.

I haven't heard anything about slower writing. Regardless, writing still should be very fast. I can't speak to the trim command question, but, in concept, it would be a pretty big deal--depending, of course, on you drive capacity needs.

Who knows? Different support people are willing to go out on different limbs and have significantly different knowledge to work from. Call back and talk to another. You also might get info from visiting an Apple Store and talking to whoever seems knowledgeable--that you can get to on a timely basis.

    Don't know

I gave my opinion above on this question. I'd go for it if truly interested in having one.

  • HT203167 App upgrades and install keeps saying waiting but nothing happens

I have an touch ipod. Since getting the new ios6 software my app ungrades and downloads are not working. It keeps on saying "waiting" on my home screen but never actually starts to install it. Oh and since getting ios 6 it doesnt prompt me for account nr.

If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • How to upgrade to Windows 10 without waiting in line?

No choice but to upgrade to windows 10, since Microsoft will let go of the older versions  ...

You can follow steps given in below link to upgrade to Windows 10,
http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/windows-10-upgrade Or you can just go to the Windows 10 download link and directly download the ISO and install,

  • Upgrade to 2.01 or wait?

    ....

it is called an UPDATE so of course it worth to be downloaded if it is 500 MB or more!! is it good or not we don't know!!
don't take these forums as granted, Apple is almost going to sell 3,000,000 iPhone 3G and people who ONLY have issues come to here, i don't see millions here, so the phone with its update is doing great with a HUGE percentage of people out there!!
    so of course update it!

  • App upgrades stuck on waiting

Has anyone found a way to unfreeze apps stuck on 'waiting' when trying to upgrade. All my upgrading apps are stuck on waiting. :(

    1. Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Books, Music, Movies or iTune U. Finish off the download and you should be able to update.
    2. Connect iTune; and Check for available download (under Store). When download is completed, sync to iPad.

I don't know if I should wait or upgrade my OS now or wait.  Thoughts

What is your machine specifications? And what OS X version are you on now?
Apple lists a much lower requirement for Lion, but numerous reports it's slow as molasses on older hardware.

  • Had 3G, Have 3GS, upgrade to 4G or wait?

Due to the Apple acknowledged, 4G Iphone reception issue, I would like to know if the 4G phones that A.T.&T. are selling in December 2010, are the exact same devices that were originally released in June 2010?
Also, in June 2011, does anyone know if Apple will re-design the newest Iphone they release then?
I'm not sure if I should upgrade to 4G now or wait until next Iphone release..... Thank you all in advance.

I would like to know if the 4G phones that A.T.&T. are selling in December 2010, are the exact same devices that were originally released in June 2010?
Yes, and I've had no problem with mine.
Also, in June 2011, does anyone know if Apple will re-design the newest Iphone they release then?
Since this is a user to user help forum only, no one here can answer this question and Apple does not provide this info in advance prior to the official announcement for a new iPhone model.
As an FYI, it is an iPhone 4, not a 4G iPhone or an iPhone 4G. 4G represents a 4G network and 4G network compatible phone, which the iPhone 4 is not.
Without knowing what the design change or changes will be, if you can wait, wait. If you don't prefer the next generation iPhone when announced, the iPhone 4 will still be available at that time.
