Upgraded to Android now all friends on Iphone cant text me
Hi
i did have an i phone 4 but due to diabolical battery life i upgraded to Android one Galaxy S2, now my friends who have i phone are texting me but i am not receiving the texts.
Apparently this is happening to lot of people due to the 5 update, my number is registered to apple servers so phones sending think sending to iphone when not
Anyone know what to do, have had carrier re issue the sim card but that not worked
Log into your iCloud account and remove your phone number. This should turn off iMessage capability to your iPhone.
Of course, this could have been done on the iPhone by turning off iMessage in settings before switching to the Android device as well.

Me and my daughter had been using the same apple id, she was triyng to change it, now all of my iphone contact are gone, what can i do ti get it back , this is very important to me.
Your contacts are helpd on the server, so if you sign out from your iCloud account and sign into another one they will disappear. If you sign back into the original account they will reappear.

Upgraded to '09 now ALL my projects are gone HELP - PANIC!
I just upgraded to 09 and now all my projects are gone??? I have time machine running but when I click on that in the projects directory nothing shows up. I think they are all on my HD somewhere but how do i get them BACK into Imovie? It would help if I knew what the file extension is for imovie projects but even if I find them - how do I get them showing up in 09?
Any help is appreciated!
DaveIn my case, my projects are in: "home/movies/imovie projects/", try a search in 'Spotlight' type: 'imovie projects.localized', that will find exactly where your projects are located.

Getting sick of this crap and errors with Apple

I have 2x Iphone 4's both get error 3200 when I try to restore, one loaded 5 but wouldnt restore my backup and claimed its not compatible, one is now stuck in a loop between the apple logo and a loading screen and I cant do **** as it wont restore, one is brand new the other is almost a year old
There is also an iphone 3g which gives error 1015 on any pc and wont update either

Any ideas on *** i can do before I see if they can all blend and give Apple the finger once and for allbe patient. Try later. I had the same problem. I updated my iPod Touch to IOS5 and it is ok. Tried my iPhone 4 and it failed. tried 5 times kept failing. Finally it worked. I noticed a message in the iTunes window that said "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple". I think the network or their servers were busy and this was timing out.

Upgraded Hard Drive, now all "on my mac" mail is gone
Yesterday I installed a new hard drive in my macbook. Used my Time Machine backup to restore the new drive. Everything seems to work fine.
When searching for some email today, though, I noticed that all of the (many) emails in the "on my mac" section of Mail is gone.
I think the messages are still in my home/library/mail/mailboxes, but how do I get Mail to recognize them?Hello and welcome to the Discussions.
This is probably an index problem. Let's force an overall reindexing via the removal of the Envelope Index since you say it is spread across all On My Mac mailboxes. Note the special instructions when forcing the reindexing of IMAP or Exchange accounts in the following:

This will force the reindexing of all the POP mailboxes and all On My Mac mailboxes. With regard to any IMAP accounts if you have any, the practical result of this action of removing the account folder, is that with the IMAP account still set up in the Preferences, Mail will connect to the IMAP server and create a new account folder, and while doing so will index the messages in the mailbox folders of the IMAP account on the server.

Up until the ios7 upgrade I could track all our family's devices from my 3GS, now since upgrading to ios7 on the iPhone 4S and 5 I can't track them as they come up as 'offline'! And inactive on my icloud id that added on the devices!! Because I. can't upgrade to ios7 on my 3GS is that why, or do I need to do something else on each device?
It's possible that installing iOS7 on the other devices made the setting to the default for "Find My Friends". The default is off/disabled. Thus they are off line.
Double check their settings for that feature.

I just upgraded to the new mobile me calendar and now all my calendar entries on iCal have been erased. As I type this the calendar entries are still on the mobile me and iphone calendars. How do I restore the calendar entries to iCal?
Please always post your System details when you have a query. The upgrade to the new MobileMe calendar produces different results, and different problems, with different versions of OSX.
Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:

Leopard: when the upgrade is completed iCal on Leopard will not be able to see the MobileMe calendars until an additional process is carried out, detailed in this Apple Tech Note:

Tiger: iCal on Tiger cannot read the MobileMe calendars, period. The only workaround is to upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard if possible (Intel Mac required). -
I upgraded the iphone software to 4.2.8 and none of the purchased apps would open. I then restored the software and now all those apps are GONE. How do I get them back?
I have EXACTLY the same issue. I would appreciate the response also. Was not prepared for this.

I just upgraded my mac with Mountain Lion and turned on iCloud. Now all of the music stored on my mac shows up on my iphone. My question is, if I listen to this music on my iphone am I using up my data plan?
No, if you are using the Music app you are playing them on your iPhone.

I took the new OS4 update and now all my contacts are gone! I tried restoring from a previous backup and they're still not there!

What can one do to restore their contacts (that should have never been deleted in the first place)?I’ve contacted a friend that works for Mac; He is a bit of a genius. Apparently when you reboot there will be a copy of your backed up phones details from before you installed the new software. I'm currently trying this and just pressing ok to all of the error messages. Looking at the screen on itunes that displays the usage, over time it’s filling up more and more. Maybe also give it a go and see if second time lucky things come back, especially all those contacts. Ill let you know how I go.... I’m definitely considering blackberry after this and I have been an iPhone devotee from the start!! NOT HAPPY JAN

How do you delete all contacts on iPhone 4S? I have tried to sync and end up w/duplicates and now triplicates. 4,000 contacts have now turned into 12,000 contacts!! I "upgraded" to Lion and hate it - it was so much easier before. I managed to delete on MacBook (to start from scratch there), but cannot delete from iphone or ipad. I am so frustrated! Please help
Hi Cynthia! If you are syncing from something like Gmail you can go into the iPhones Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn off contacts. It will ask you if you want to delete them from your phone - just click delete. Exit Settings and turn phone off by power button (not all the way OFF). Then re-open Settings>mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn Contacts back on - This is where you need to be careful - When you turn contacts back on you will be prompted to delete or save the contacts already on your phone. CLICK DELETE. You should now have only your synced contacts on your phone! Hope it helps!

I have an iphone 5 and I did the upgrade. Now all of the music videos that I purchased on itunes do not show up when I hold the phone horizontally. It is just a picture of album covers. Any thoughts?

I just updated my iPhone 4s to IOS 7 and now all my icons for apps I had previously downloaded B4 the upgrade dont show on my home screen,does anyone know what happen and how I can get the icons back on my screen??
Apps are in iTunes, are not part of the backup and when you updated the phone, you need to sync that content back.

WHen I first installed iOS 6 the App Store crashes...and now having iOS 6 for 2 weeks now, all my apps are buggy and now are crashing! Safari and built in apps are becoming slow and crash. I hate how apple leaves iPod touch 4g and iPhone 4 in the dark and basically force us to upgrade to newer devices. Apple could of done better with the update and needs to resolve these issues.
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

IMovie volume meter shows much red peaking but audio waveform shows none
