So I now can't start the publisher responding with a message that CR XI isn't installed and can't work. What might I be doing wrong?

I'm afraid you aren't doing anything wrong.
The desktop publisher has not been updated to work with cr 2008 yet. That warning you are getting is expected, but you can just click ok to get around it.
Once you get around that warning, it seems like plain old document uploading will work just fine with cr 2008, but you will likely run into problems trying to refresh any report files before uploading them. This looks like a problem with the cr sdk that comes with cr 2008. We are working with them to figure out exactly what is going wrong.
That being said, 2008 rpt files are not completely supported in cr.com yet. I believe older rpt files that are being refreshed by cr 2008 and uploaded to cr.com should work fine (once we get this issue fixed), but any reports with new 2008 specific features will fail when you try to upload them. The same is true if you are trying to upload the reports through the web ui.
I would suggest that you submit a case with our tech support for this issue so that you get notified once it has been solved. In the mean time, you will need to run the desktop publisher on top of a copy of your old cr if you are using the refresh capability of the desktop publisher.

Reinstalling Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

Upgraded my fb and now it doesn't work!

I upgraded my fb to version 2.0.0.58. After the upgrade, It"s now working anymore. I tried to do the battery pull, even tried reinstalling it several bit it still doesn't work. I have a data plan and I'm connected to BIS and other applications like my ym and bbm are working properly. Only fb is not working. then i notice that when i turn on wifi connection, fb works. but i don't have an access to wifi all the time that's why i got a data plan! help!

No worries. Sometimes it takes going back and forth a bit...
The folders on the right. Look for anything "FastBrowserSearch" related.
Another way to find a file on your hard drive is to use Spotlight
Top right corner of your screen you'll see a magnifying glass icon. Click that. In the search field type in:
FastBrowserSearch
See if anything pops up. It should tell us where it is.
If you find it, double click it to uninstall.

I excitedly upgraded to Lion after upgrading to Snow Leopard but now I'm having problems Safari, WiFi and launching Content Barrier from my Intego Internet Security Package. Snow Leopard was perfect but Lion has been giving me some grief. I'm a little disappointed. I have read that most people have had problems with Lion but I honestly thought it would be ok. But it seems that this upgrade isn't worth all the hype it has made. I was so excited but feel a littlest down. I don't think I should be spending all this time trying to find a solution to these issues ...it's such a huge chunk out of my time that I could spend working.
Can someone please lead me in the right direction :((

Uninstall the Intego software and see if that helps. I suspect it will.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I already turned on Send as SMS and it still doesnt work. I have turned off imessage to see if that would help and restarted the phone a few times.

I understood what you were saying. You did type 4.3.5 in your post. Several other things to try.
Close all open apps like I described above. Just tap the home button first so that you will be able to access all of your apps. Close every single one and then restart again.
You can also delete the app and download it again. As long as you use the same Apple ID and password there is no charge to download it again. Tap and hold down on the GarageBand app icon until it wiggles. Then tap the X to delete it. Download it again.
Reset the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes about 10-15 seconds. Ignore the red slider shut off bar. When the Apple logo appears you can let go of the buttons and the iPad will reboot.
The final thing to try is to download another app - any free app. Sometimes that seems to reset something on the iPad. You can always delete the free app if you don't want it.

You are running 10.5.8
Did you try booting off your Install disk holding the c key down. From here you can get to the drop down menu just a few clicks in (you are not going to install) and run the Disk Utility>Repair Disk. See if it will let you do this.

The iPhoto Videos do occasionally have problems. I've seen a lot of people write messages to this Discussion group describing similar problems. The only thing that seems to get around this problem is to pull the video clips out of iPhoto then import them directly into iMovie. Once the troubles with iPhoto Videos starts, I haven't yet seen anyone write back with something that they did to fix it.
The most difficult part of doing this is the movies in iPhoto might be a little difficult to track down. But you can create a smart alum that does that for you. Go to iPhoto > File Menu > New Smart Album:
Set the first pulldown menu to keyword, second to contains, then in the last box type Movie with a capital 'M'. Then click OK. This smart album more or less does as search of the whole iPhoto Library and only displays items that match your search tearm of "Movie" exactly. In that smart album then you can find the original Movies you want to move out of iPhoto and into iMovie, <CTRL> click on the Movie clip, then choose Reveal in Finder. That will jump you out of iPhoto temporarily and into the iPhoto Library folder. From there you can move that movie file to the desktop. Move all the clips you want, once they're all collected up go to iMovie and go to the File Menu > Import Files. Then point it to the desktop where you moved your video clips.
This will put all those videos into an Event folder in iMovie and bypass iPhoto Videos altogether.

I am having this issue too. After doing all of the suggested ideas I found online, I am still stuck in "waiting for activiation" mode. I live out of the country, and my cell phone is not connected to my carrier's network for the next month (so I really have a glorified ipod touch).
If anyone finds a fix, please pass this info along.

Files deleted from the Library and now internet doesn't work?

I'm new here and this is probably going to sound dumb but... my father deleted some files from the Library by mistake and now internet doesn't work in his computer. Everything seems normal, but the webpages don't load (we tried lots of pages and 3 browsers). If you try to update any software it can't connect to the internet either.
He reinstalled the system (it's Mountain Lion, I think) but it didn't worked (it was a partial reinstallation, without losing the data). He also tried restarting and pressing CMD-R but nothing happened.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thank you so much in advance! (and sorry for any typos, English is not my native language)

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
208.67.222.222

(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
Click OK.
