Upgraded to CS5, having problems uninstalling CS3

Now that I've used CS5 Design Premium for a couple of months, I'm ready to uninstall CS3 and get back some badly-needed HD real estate.
I ran the Adobe Uninstaller and 2 apps are still there plus a sprinkling of folders. Someone on the NAPP forum suggested I run the CS5 Clean Script tool (on the CS3 files), which I did, but it only found one file and deleted it. So I still have Bridge CS3 and InDesign CS3 apps hanging around.
Can I just drag all this stuff to the trash?
And after the uninstaller was finished I'm getting a message when I start PS CS5 that something important is missing and I need to re-install it.
Do I have to deactivate and uninstall first? Or can I just re-install over top of the existing from my Design Premium disc? Can I just re-install PS or do I have to do the whole bundle?
Dear Adobe, why isn't this easier? I would expect this kind of behavior from Windows...
By the way, I'm on an Intel MBP running OS 10.5.8

Why are you using inline CSS styles for this?
Use external CSS for site wide styles. A separate physical file to which all your HTML pages are linked.

Use inline CSS rarely if ever.
HINT: The only time I use inline CSS is for HTML emails.

After using the CS 3 uninstaller and restart everything is still showing up, though not working...
Do I have to use the cs5cleaner tool now?

I just downloaded the current Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and selected CS 3 in the pulldown menu, but it only shows Adobe Extend Script Toolkit 2 and it offers to clean all Cs3/Cs 4 ( no option to just select CS3 )
I also have CS 4 installed and and want to get rid of everything except AE: Should I
1. uninstall the entire CS4 via uninstaller first (and reinstall AE after running the Cleaner ) or can I
2. uninstall everything CS4 except AE and then run the Cleaner.
3. Should I run the cleaner ( clean all CS3/CS4 ) first and then take care of uninstalling CS4
Sorry for the specifics, but I already have tried this once using the uninstallers and handselecting all programs (for both CS3 and CS4 ) I wanted to get rid of and then ran the cleaner, but that still left a lot of stuff AND the not uninstalled CS3 PSD did not work any more and could also not be reactivated with my serial... the only fix was resurrecting the entire system/app drive via Timemachine to its original.

Having problems uninstalling and running Photoshop CS3

I downloaded the trial for Adobe Photoshop CS3 and it has now expired. I tried to uninstall it but it does nothing. It will not come off my computer. If I try to open it, it tells me

How do I get rid of this program???

It tells me my settings have changed and I need to reactivate but it won't let me reactivate apparently I guess it's been activated too many times (the first computer I had it on crashed and so I had to reinstall it on this computer I am using now) So now because of whatever is wrong with this CS3 I can never again use my CS2. I don't want to repurchase it, what do I do??

In reference to Lynley Stanley, I too am having the exact problem. I downloaded as for my class of Animation and Visual Effects at the Academy of Art University while waiting for my software to come in the mail from Academic Superstore. I am so frustrated about this that such an issue has caused so much madness. In the process of trying to remove Adobe Photoshop CS3 from my Windows Vista I was searching for info on how to uninstall as I was in a hurry to uninstall the program because my 4th week into class started using the program as students are expected to follow along having their own for assignments. Well, now I'm behind and I don't want to fail because of something that is causing the problem as I'd like to call intentional. In the process of trying to figure a way to uninstall fast as not to fall behind and fail in class I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller but I don't know how it will work. Now in reference of trying to quickly uninstall just to keep up with class, that will not be possible, so now I had to take time to look online knowing I'm falling more and more behind because of this difficult matter I finally found this and hopefully I'll be going somewhere as to have the problem corrected. Having problem uninstalling TMG

Hello community!
I'm having issue uninstalling TMG from my server. We moved to gateway security and TMG was no longer needed.
Today I attempted to uninstall it but it failed. Application disappeared for "Programs and Features" list and it's blocking incoming traffic. Outbound traffic flows just fine, I can get outside but incoming is blocked. I have office shares on this
server and it's very important for me to restore connectivity.
I tried some third party uninstallers like "Perfect Uninstaller" but no luck. TMG services are all there stopped and cant be started.
Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Did you remove the existing log files and cache files when removing TMG? In addition, did you reboot the server after uninstallation? If not, I recommend you to reboot the server to
see if the issue persists.
In addition, according to your description, it seems that TMG is no longer in Program and Features and the TMG related services are stopped, right? If so, maybe the incoming traffic
is blocked by other firewall. You can also check the Windows firewall to see if it blocks anything or not.

Upgraded to CS5, can we uninstall CS4?

Hello, just installed CS5 upgrade and assumed it would replace CS4 on our system. It appears to have installed as a completely new program and left the original CS4 installation in place.
Q. Can we uninstall the CS4 version to reclaim some HDD space? CS5 seems to be working fine?
The screen shot belows shows the programs listed on the 'start' menu.
edit: We received the upgrade disk from Adobe as we had purchased CS4 after CS5 was announced for release. Both program disks have different serial numbers.

Update for others who may read this....
There is one "ill-effect" that we have since discovered which relates to LR3.
We installed LR3 after CS5 and later removed the previous installation of CS4. This action removes a key in the registry which makes the "Edit in Photoshop" option greyed out on the menu bar.
The solution was eventually found here:

We chose to have a go at the registry edit, but apparently re-installing CS5 will replace the key also, (this option may be tedious for those who have installed lots of plug-ins?).

Having trouble uninstalling CS3 trial

I downloaded a trial of CS3 a few years ago and i'm trying to uninstall it. When I try to I get an error message that says "Setup is not properly installed. Please re-install". How can I fix this?

Probably not at all, especially if you have newer versions of Adobe tools on the system. These are version conflicts in the installer database. Short of uninstalling everything, cleaning out CS3 and then reinstalling whatever is your current version I see no way to resolve this. Even if it would work right off the bat, it would mess with file associations and a few otehr things for newer versions, so it's not the best way to deal with teh problem in teh first place...

Upgrading to CS5 Master Collection with CS3 Design Premium Suite

I just bought CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection on Tigerdirect.com. I noticed there wasn't any details about what version of software you can upgrade from (such as Master Collection or Design Premium etc) I currently have CS3 Design Premium Software (an upgraded version from CS1 or whatever). Will I be able to upgrade to the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection by using my CS3 Design Premium serial number?

Since upgrade to FF13: having problems with flash content, especially videos when scrolling/multi tasking--freezing the video and sound for 1-2 sec. Any advice?

At first, the same night I decided to update--things were fine but after using the browser hours later a second time: some flash scripts would simply not respond and freeze the tab the content is on or like in my question, constantly stutter. The problem for flash videos only seem to occur when I scroll onto links or when moving up/down a page. I encountered similar problem with FF7--like that time, I installed/uninstalled the flash player and even resetted firefox but to no avail--the problem persisted. It is also present while in safe mode. P.s. such problem is seemingly not present in other browsers which brought me to ask this question for assistance.

I have the same issue. When I scroll past embedded videos, such as YouTube videos, they are torn or disrupted. The video may shrink in size when I scroll, etc. Issues only arise when scrolling past the video. When playing, no issues.
I've tried the following that did not help:
Safe mode
Video driver up to date
Flash completely up to date
All plugins up to date.
Only started happening when I updated to FF13.

I have the Adobe CS3 suite. I have recently installed CS4. I would like to get PS, CS3 uninstalled. I do not want to uninstall the rest of the CS3 suite.

If you have CS3 Design Premium, there is an Adobe utility titled, "Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium.
It will let you select (or deselect) individual apps.

Having problems uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it

At some point i must have deleted itunes or file i need for it so it will no longer work. I have tried to uninstall it through the control panel under add or remove program but it gives me an error message stating that the network resource is unavailable. Does anyone know how i can get help resolving this issue? thanks

With that one, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:

Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and then click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another ITunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Just upgraded to Yosemite having problem importing pictures from iPhoto from 10.6.8

Unable to get to all my photos from iPhoto (10.6.8) into Photo on Yosemite. Help.

I am not sure of the version of iphoto that I had, but I think it was the one that came with 10.6.8
Some of my old photos came in as "sharing" and some in photos. I just let the migration happen during the installation process. I like the old iphoto appl. better than this new one. I don't have a need to sych with other apple devices or some of the other bells and whistles.
Not much help, Is there a way to get a newer version of iphoto and forget about "photo"?

CS5 having problems embedding fonts

I am trying to embed a couple of fonts - one for each dynamic textbox. The first has Arial Bold embeded, and the second has Arial Regular. I have used the embed panel and set the character range. Oddly, when I export the SWF, both textboxes come out as Arial Regular. If I simply delete the second textbox (the one set to Arial Regular), and export again - suddenly the first (now only) textbox shows properly in Arial Bold. What gives?

Since I upgraded, I am having problems with words coming out wrong. For example, it is supposed to say "Who's Online in the last 15 minutes;" it actually says "Xip(t pomjof jo uif mbtu 26 Njovuft;" but when I copy and paste, it comes out correct.

It doesn't happen if I go to that site using IE, so it has to be something in Firefox. I have tried looking at the font information, but that seems correct. Problem installing CS3, being asked for CS4 disc

Hi,
I'm having problem reinstalling CS3, during the installation I'm being asked to insert CS4 disc. All I want is to reinstall CS3.
Also, the liks to download CS3 products don't work.

Karniak which operating system are you using? I would recommend removing any current installations for Adobe Creative products on your computer. Once removed please use the CC Cleaner tool to insure complete removal. Once you have used the CC Cleaner Tool please reinstall CS3. If you need a fresh copy of the installation files then you can download them from http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs3-product-downloads.html. Is this the same location you were attempting to download from previously?
