Upgraded to FCP 7.0.3 and having difficulty with playback

I have opened a project that was working perfectly in FCP 6 in FCP 7.0.3 on the same system I am getting the following alert:
"One or more frames were dropped during playback..."

For a brief moment your screenshot came thru so here is my response:
I added a column after "A" because a time or a date in Numbers is always both. when you type 16:45 Numbers also attaches a date. We need to strip the date out. We do that with:
TIMEVALUE(A1)
we put this into our new column B and fill down. When you are done this column can be hidden. I could also have but this into the LOOKUP formula but I think this is clearer for now.
I made your row 5 into a footer since this is where our formula is. Lets try a screenshot:
We don't really need your column B (my C). The formula in C5 is:
LOOKUP(B5,B1:B4,D1:D4)
This looks for the value of B5 in B1:B4 and returns the corresponding value from D1:D4.
Anything lower than 16:45 will return an error. You can trap that error in different ways if it bugs you. Anything above 19:45 will return the value in D4. You can decide what you want that to be.
Hopefully the screenshot came thru; if not let me know what is not clear.

Hopefully this helps: I had one plugin (Vectorworks) which I deleted and now it opens. Try deleting any plugins if you have any if you've run out of options. Took me hours to figure that out.
On a side note, Yosemite sucks. Spread the word.

Try going into your settings and 'reset all settings'
You will need to retweak your device but it's been said to help with sound issues.

You can check you Adobe account online to see if the serial number is registered under your account. If not then your only option will likely be to contact Adobe Support directly thru chat to see if they can provide you with a/the serial number. For them to do so will require you being able to prove ownership.

What is a hard reset? There is nothing in any of Apple's documentation that refers to a hard reset.
There's a reset, a restart, and a restore.

Sorry, that didn't work. I get no drop down menu from the Hot Sync Manager for the Serial Port. What comes up often is: "The selected port, COM1, is not available at this time. Hot Sync Manager will open the port when it becomes available."
Could it be the Norton Antivirus Firewall that is preventing the Hot Sync Manager to open the Serial Port? Just a thought. Thanks for your help.

The new AirPort Extreme needs the 6.x version of AirPort Utility, which comes packed in with Lion 10.7.5 or Mountain Lion 10.8.x......or......you can also configure the device using an iPhone or iPad running a recent iOS.
From Apple's Specifications:
Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
A few options.....
Borrow another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion for 10-15 minutes and set it up. The Mac running 10.5.8 will be able to connect to the wireless....but it will not be able to make any changes to the configuration of the Extreme.
Update to Lion or Mountain Lion.....but check first to make sure that your Mac will support the operating system first.
Use....or borrow an iPhone or iPad to set up the Extreme

Upgrade to FCP 5.1.4 and OSX 10.4.9 stops DV

Hi all,
Have upgraded to from OSX 10.3.9 to OSX 10.4 to allow me to upgrade FCP from 4.5 to 5.1 in order to add HDV support.
First use after upgrading and FCP is no longer recognising DV camera through Firewire. Subsequently upgraded to OSX 10.4.9 and FCP 5.1.4 but still have the same problem.
Can control the camera from log and capture, but preview disabled and capturing insists that no device is selected. Capture presets state that Video Device DV Video is missing
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem?
