Upgraded to IOS5 once Exchange mail the iPad 2 crashes

The upgrade worked fine. Gmail account works fine to too. Once I connect to Office 365 via Exchange the Ipad crashes completely and the whole setup is gone.

Everytime I try to update to iOS5 on my iPhone 4 I get an error containing 0xE while it is backing up data from the iPhone before installing the new operating system. I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

An IMAP configuration will NOT allow one to create mailboxes on one's iPad - from personal experience - one requires a POP account. Briefly, the Apple Mail app for iOS 6 (iPad, iPhone) has no capability to add mailboxes to the original ones that are included as part of the app - if (and only if) the email account is configured as IMAP. So... Keniff is correct: One must go to one's laptop/desktop, open a browser, and add the mailboxes desired for your IMAP account. Unfortunately, one seems to have little choice for the account configuration. Apple's iOS does the configuration quite automatically with one's account provider. For example, my Charter mail is IMAP while my Gmail account is POP. The latter allows edit/add for new or existing mailboxes on my iPad 2.

1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.

Was working fine last night when upgraded to iOS5 and iCloud but now I get Cannot Get Mail: The connection to the server failed. Anyone else get that?

Yes. Getting complete failures on mail at present. iCloud servers seem completely screwed.

Will upgrading to iOS5.1.1 revert the ATT official unlock?

I am a T-mobile customer and I have a iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 (9B176), firmware 04.12.01.
The iPhone was originally locked to ATT but in April 2012 I requested the official ATT unlock. The phone is now unlocked and works well with T-mobile.
If I upgrade from iOS5.1 to iOS5.1.1 will I loose the unlock? Does anyone has firsthand experience?

I have upgraded to iOS5.1.1 (9B206) though iTunes 10.6.1.7.
Before the process started I removed the T-Mobile sim card.
As everyone was suggesting, the iPhone remained unlocked after the upgrade.

You should try to return from where you bought it. Someone (who bought the old 'new ipad more than 14 days but fewer than thirty days ago) posted the other day that in NYC the Fifth Ave. Apple store would not honor the exchange but the Upper West Side store (less than a mile away) did exchange it.
Two days ago, a Best Buy was still selling the 'new' ipad at regular prices. I thought their return policy was/is 14 days, but I checked and it's actually thirty days (see website.) There was no specification that it was different for ipads or other electronics.
And if I were you, I would take your product (with all the peripherals it came with) and receipt and bring it in. Ask to speak to a manager. It's easy to say 'no' over the phone - one less disgruntled ipad owner to deal with.
DO IT ASAP!
One thing Apple needs to do is get all their retail stores to participate!

Hold up. Are you for real, Apple? I am loyal, and have never allowed a PC into my house! I have three Macs currently, running 10.4.x, and just bought an iPad. The Macs run fine. But guess what? My system software is too old to get my brand new iPad started. Someone with an inferior PC can just plug this iPad into their into their machine and go, but I have to drop another $100+ to do the same thing? Is that right?

These are the ones I use the most. Barely touch my laptop now. Use it mostly as a media server on my network. If I need something on it I just use Splashtop and remote into it.

What's with the iPad 2 Crashes

I don't know whether this is an iPad 2 issue, an iOS update issue or both, but it is driving me a little crazy. Programs, YouTube, Safari are all crashing to the desktop. It isn't like it happens every 30 sec., but 15 to 20 times a day, my iPad 2 reverts to the desktop. There isn't enough specific repetition to say it's a certain Location where it occurs. There is one website, www.gelaskins.com, that is guaranteed to crash when I scroll thru it's pages looking at skins for my iPad. I have soft reset the device several times. The iPad 2 is awesome, which makes this glitch more infuriating.

Today, a Genius at my Apple Store fixed two major things for me that two calls to Apple Care didn't come close to fixing. Hunter at Flatirons Crossing Apple looked in my settings, turned off all the things that were checked under Spotlight Search, and it hasn't crashed since. The other was helping me to get back my lost data after Restore that was threatening my quality of life!! Thanks, Hunter!!

HT4061 I attached my iPad to my laptop to sync to my iTunes account. It told me that there was a software upgrade. After attempting to upgrade the software I received a message that the upgrade was not successful. Now the iPad is locked.

After failing to update the Op system my iPad is now frozen on a screen showing a USB connector pointing to iTunes. It is connected and nothing is happening. I have not been able to reset or restart the iPad3.

Its solved I just restored it to that point

Browsing these forums with the iPad - Safari Crashes

Has anyone noticed less occurance of Safari crashing when browsing these forums and upgrading to iOS 5? I haven't done so yet, and it seems my iPad crashes Safari a lot even after emptying cookies, cache and history and browsing these forums under 3G. Currently on iOS 4.3.1 on first generation 64 GB iPad.

I haven't had any trouble with Safari myself (iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1) but I admit I don't use it that much because I really don't like it. I've found iCab Mobile to be an all around superior browser. I have certainly seen more than one post about Safari crashing, though.

Is 1 gb of free memory too little? Will it cause the iPad to crash?

It is more about the ram than the space available. I'd say a full restart should fix your problem. The 1GB shouldn't cause much problem.
