Upgraded to iPhoto 9 and now it is crashing every few minutes
I installed iLife and upgraded to iPhoto 9, now my iPhoto keeps crashing. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?! (Also, I can't see any of the thumbnails for my photos, they are just empty boxes--yet if you right click and choose Show File it brings you to the jpg)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if you still crash.
If necessary backup and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.

Wow, how excited was I about getting 9?!
Yet since the install 3 days ago I have crashed over 20 times - with LP8..about 5 in a year
Should i reinstall 8? Or is there a bug fix coming?

About THIS much...?
Yet since the install 3 days ago I have crashed over 20 times - with LP8..about 5 in a year
Yep, they've improved it there...
Should i reinstall 8?
You could, 9 and 8 can both be installed. you can only have one of them open at a time though.
Or is there a bug fix coming?
Well, there should be - but as to: when? - nobody knows. We're all alpha testers now. -
why do I have to provide more information about the crashes? Every time it crashes and closes the message says it is sending the report to Firefox

Firefox crashes every few minutes for about 15 - 20 times and then crashes less often.
I have been using Firefox for several years with no problems. I have had my current laptop for 1 and a half years and have had no problems until about 2 months ago. Now Firefox crashes after only a few seconds several times (maybe 15-20 times) and then the interval between crashes tends to increase. I googled for help, and nothing has worked. I am still using Firefox 3.6.24 because when I upgrade to the latest version Firefox freezes while it is loading and it locks up my PC. At least with Firefox 3.6.24, I can get around to using it, although it is very frustrating wiwth all the crashes.
This is the link to the latest crash report submitted:

While I have your attention, is there any way I can get Firefox to stop asking me if I want to update my version. I am getting sick and tired of having to say 'NO' (for the reasons above).OK,
I uninstalled Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. Then I installed version 3.6.28 of Firefox and version 10.3.183.20 of the Flash player as instructed in cor-el's post.
Result: Same problems -- Firefox continued to crash every few minutes.
So... I tried Tylerdowner's suggestions. I already had the latest driver version for my graphics card. Back in June, I had downloaded the latest version of Firefox which then was 13.0.1. It was the latest version available when the crashing problem started on my laptop. This version caused my laptop to freeze.
So today, I went to the website and downloaded the more recent version 14.0.1, and it appears to be working great. I have gone for more than an hour without a crash. I hope the good performance continues.
Thanks for the help. -
issues with iPhoto 11? installed it and it went to update photos and now is stuck in a continous loop
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and try again. -

Upgraded to Snow Leopard and now Logic 9 crashes ALL THE TIME
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard.. and now when I open a new Logic File and hit record on an AUDIO track. It crashes. It's fine with MIDI, just crashes on audio. It also won't bounce, and it won't save, it just freezes and vanishes. I've spent the last 3 hours reinstalling it to no avail and have tried it with 9,0,0 and the new 9.1.4,, help!
Probably needs the latest Pro Apps support package for Snow Leopard, sorry, I don't have the file name. There's one for Leopard and a separate one for Snow Leopard.
Did you check to see if it shows up in Apples' Software Update?

This happens when ever FF 9 is open
Try to reinstall Firefox on top of the current installation.
You can find the latest Firefox release here:
*Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
If that didn't help then do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

There are hundreds of Crash reports with my email address on it. I don't know what is causing it. There is no indication and help anywhere that has indicated it. Flash seemed to be problematic, so I tried uninstalling flash completely and using WITHOUT flash - still the same.
I have uninstalled FF and re-installed it with new file from getfirefox.com - still the exact same.
Is there anyone who can tell me what to do? Please review my crash reports under my email address, and advise what I can do. My last few crash IDs:

I am using Windows XP, is that a reason? How can I get a Xp-friendly version of FF?Thank you for the response.
I restarted in Safe Mode, but it crashed again in 2 minutes. Can you decipher the Crash report? Because I don't understand anything from it. No way to figure what is exactly causing it.... The Troubleshoot did not help at all, very basic, and irrelevant info. I have hundreds of crash reports, but here's the latest ones, PLease Help:

To be more detailed, my AirPort Extreme needs to be extended by an AirPort Express, which then is extended to my personal Time Capsule. The internet drops on my MacBook Pro and other MacBook Pros randomly. We then reconnect with no problem and go on with what we were doing. The internet is fine. Always able to connect. We have Open DNS set up as well. But the flaky internet is annoying. Any ideas how to fix this?
The primary issue that you will need to contend with is the distance between routers. 300' would be at the fringe of the signal coming from the base station located in the house which, most likely, make it too "weak" to extend/repeat with the second base station at the shop.
There is a method to configure a relay base station between them in a Wireless Distribution System (WDS), but a WDS has two major drawbacks: 1) It can only operate in the 802.11g Radio Mode, and 2) For every base station participating in the WDS, the overall bandwidth will be cut in half .., so with a total of three (main, relay, & remote), the maximum of 54 Mbps (for 802.11g) would be more like 15-17 Mbps. If you plan on streaming HD video (either 720p or 1080p), your local wireless network may not have enough bandwidth to do so successfully.
You proposal to run the DSL line to the shop does offer another option. Instead of running a DSL line, run an Ethernet cable between the house and the shop. You would connect one end to any of the available LAN ports on the AirPort Extreme to the Ethernet port on the AirPort Express. You can then configure both base stations into a roaming network and not have bandwidth loss of the WDS. -
MacBook Retina 13 fan goes up all the time and wlan crashes every few minutes
Hello,
I've got a MacBook Retina 13" Haswell edition and as soon I open any kind of app or if I just idle at the desktop the fan goes up to 100% and the temperature of the CPU goes over 90celsius all the time.
Also my wifi connection drops all the time im not using my thunderbolt bridge which is super annoying, it can only be fixed by tuning the wifi on and off and after 10 minutes it disconnects again.
is there any way to fix it?Backup your data or Home folder. Boot from your Snow Leopard installer disc. Select your language and click on the Continue button. Wait for the menubar to appear then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard drive from the DU sidebar, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended, Journaled, then click on the Erase button. When the process is finished quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the installation.
After you have reinstalled OS X you can restore your data from the backup. -
lasst couple of days Firefox would crash for unknown reasons. this problem did not occur until I instatlled firefox 6. Last night it crashed several times over a 15 minute time span. I uninstalled firefox and then tried to reinstall. pop up window required I have administration privileges in order to install. Never required this before. I have windows 7 and have no desire to have to completely reinstall software becasue firefox 6 was so unstable.
I read a way on another forum to fix this problem. Right click on the setup.exe and select "Run as administrator" this should solve your problem.

I recieved my iPhone 3GS around Christmas. It has been working great, until yesterday. I was downloading an app and suddenly my messaging froze. I couldn't view incoming messages, and every chat I clicked on displayed the same frozen dialogue with only the contact names different. (The app was supposedly reliable, I read over the reviews.) I rebooted my phone in hopes of fixing this, and everything seemed fine for a couple of minutes. Then the screen slightly flickered, and my phone restarted itself. Now, after turning on again, it continues to flicker and crash every few minutes, whether I'm using it or not. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong and how I can fix it?
Restore the Firmware with iTunes.
If still problem and you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take to Apple for resolution.
If no coverage, the next step would be battery replacement.
