Airprint is for IOS devices and thus has no relevance to this issue.
Connect the printer to your Wireless Network and use Bonjour to detect nd connect it.
That's wrong. AirPrint is not just for iOS devices. Since HP doesn't provide drivers for this printer, they say to use AirPrint:

Hi! I'm Ralph.. Just updated my iphone 4s from 6.1.2- 6.1.3. ... Now the photo application won't open... Please help me what to do

Why would this be covered under warranty?  There is nothing wrong with the device, it simply needs to be restored.
As already stated twice in this thread, disable ALL security software on the computer and restore the device.

Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post.  I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

  • I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now I have trouble waking it up from sleep mode. Why?

I upgraded to Mountain Lion on my MacBook. I am now having trouble waking it up from sleep mode. Does anyone know why or how to wake it up. I try tapping the space bar, trackpad & other keys. Sometimes I think it's never going to wake up.

I'm not certain but my new MBA 13...when in sleep mode comes back on from a black screen when I simply click on the left mouse button. Also, one time I did a SECURE EMPTY TRASH on files that totalled more than 1GB and it took so long that the fan kept increasing in speed so I pressed on the POWER button and the MBA shut...I was able to boot up with no problem. As a rule, I now only do secured erases for trash bin data totalling 500mb or less...anything above that gets a regular erase (dump).

  • Upgraded to Mountain Lion - now cannot write to ext. HD

I have a strange issue.  Having recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion - I was first presented with an NTFS issue whereby my system would not mount or recognize any hard drive formatted NTFS.  After some extensive research online, it was discovered that there was a conflict with two third party utilities / preference panes, namely, NTFS-3G, and Mac Fuse.  I have deleted those two preferences and all associated files - they have been completely removed and uninstalled from my system.  I now am able to mount and read NTFS drives, however, the one drive where I have been keeping all my movies / TV content, can now only be READ.  In other words, I cannot copy files to it, nor can I create folders, etc.  What happened that I can no longer write to this particular drive?  I had no problems while I had Snow Leopard on my system, but now that I have upgraded to Mountain Lion....something happened, and I want to fix it.  Please help if you have anything useful for me.

  • Mountain Lion 10.8.2 not showing big folders from External HDD, please help ?

    Hello guys,
The problem appeared after I did a clean install of Mountain Lion 10.8.2. The OS works nicely except it does not show my big Movie (around 200 GB) folder from my External HDD. This Movie folder is not related to any Apple software such as iTunes etc.. What's funny is that my LG TV shows the folder, and I can access it to open any movie. But when I mount the HDD to my MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion now, all folders are shown except this one. The HDD is NTFS and had no problems with Snow Leopard (my previous OS).
I tried defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE and I see hidden folders in External HDD, but the Movie folder is still not shown.
Is this issue related to the size of this folder ? any help & ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi all,
I see its been 2 months since the last post. Did someone find the solution? I have the same problem with 10.8.2 update. Macbook pro mid 2010 with Crucial 256 m4 ssd (latest firmware 010G). Since yesterday my mac refuses to start.
    What I did so far:
    1. Impossible to start os x 10.8.2, stuck at spinning circle below the apple logo at startup. Disk check ok, permissions ok. Startup in "safe mode" stucks on spinning  wheel as well.
    2. Impossible to format the drive for a new clean install. What I find strange is that I cannot format the ssd with any utility. So far I tried with windows, linux and with disk utility on os x. I put the ssd in a usb casing and I am able to read it as an external drive, can copy some smaller files from it but cannot change anything on it (no permissions).
    3. Did a clean install on original hd of my mac. Data transfer (1 user)  from time machine or the ssd goes through 85-95% then stops. And now impossible to format the original drive with the 10.8.2 installed to downgrade to 10.7.
    4. Pram reset
Does anyone have any idea what to do now?
    Thanks!

  • I upgraded to mountain lion, now my mini dvi to hdmi doesn't work

I installed mountain lion and now my mini dvi to hdmi doesn't work.  I did a disk permission repair, but that didn't help.  Any suggestions?

My internet card will only work on 32bit,and it sounds like mountain lion only works on 64bit so that must be my problem. I think I will have to upgrade my internet or go back to lion.

  • 2008 iMac upgraded to Mountain Lion now boots slowly?

We have an Early 2008 Aluminium iMac. 2.4 GHz Core2 Duo, regular HDD. I think it came with 1 GB of DDR2 RAM but we upgraded to 2 GB. It originally came with Leopard but we upgraded to Snow Leopard on short order. So everything was good, maybe when it was brand new it would be ready to use in 25-30 seconds and after four years it would usually boot and be ready to use in 30-45 seconds. Pretty quick, maybe due in part to a hard drive that was mostly empty (don't know if that matters).
But then when Mountain Lion came out, I wanted to upgrade. I swapped out the 2GB of RAM for 4GB, ran the installation tool, and that was that. However, ever since then, boot time takes at least twice as long. (Both takes longer to get to desktop and takes longer for desktop to be ready for me to launch apps.) I knew it uses a little extra RAM but I didn't think it should be so bad for performance. I've reset PRAM and repaired permissions and all that boring stuff already, but it doesn't help.
I suspect there is just something that could be fixed so it doesn't take so long, like some caching setting or something (I really have no idea what I'm talking about) or that if I do a fresh install it *should* go back to booting in 30 seconds. However I don't want to spend half a day reinstalling and restoring on a hunch. So what are your suggestions?
I also plan on upgrading to OS X Mavericks in the fall as it seems like it includes performance improvements (not sure if it'll matter for boot though). Might upgrading to Mavericks "fix" some messed up setting that slows down boot time? Or would it not make any difference? Or would I have to do a fresh install when I upgrade to Mavericks to avoid a slow boot time? Or should I just wait till I want to upgrade and then do the whole fresh install and restore files/apps/settings from my time machine backup (or better to do manually)?
I'd like to add also that I have a MacBook Pro with an SSD and 4GB DDR3 RAM that came with Lion, and doing the same kind of upgrade process to ML as I did on the iMac didn't effect boot time on the MacBook Pro (it's still about 15 seconds).

    Hello Mac OS XP,
While your iMac is within the scope of supported machines for Mountain Lion, it is pretty far down the spectrum. Every new OS will require more resources than the one before it wether thats processor, RAM or graphics power. I would personally keep a machine like that on 10.6 Snow Leopard for best performance. Anyway, it cán handle Lion or Mountain lion but it will perform slower than it did under Snow Leopard.
That said, upgrading an OS that has been upgraded in the past and then skipping a version to the latest OS, there are usually some complications. There are a few things you can try to get some performance back but at this point i do recommend backing up your machine, re-format the drive, install a clean copy of Mountain lion and then restore your data.
You have tried the permissions repair which is always a good first step. (backup before you continue) Next restart your Mac, hold down the Option key as soon as you hear the startup chime and select your recovery partition as your startup disk when it pops up on the screen. From there, open disk utility and instead of repairing the permissions, run a Verify on your hard drive (and a Repair, if needed). Quit Disk Utility and the Recovery window and you can select your main partition as startup disk again and restart.
If repairs or modifications were made by Disk Utility, it may actually take even longer to start up now but that's just the first time, if you restart again you'll see if you actually gained performance.
If that did not work, i'd start over. You may spend more time trying to figure out and test different fixes than it would take to just re-install and enjoy a clean OS.
While Time Machine is an option, in this case i would Clone the drive with a utility like SuperDuper. Personal preference and when it comes to multiple OS upgrades etc. i find it more reliable than Time Machine which is pretty complex in it's own way. A benefit of a cloned drive is that it's bootable. If something goes wrong or your internal drive breaks in the future, you can start up from the clone drive and just keep on working (it'll be slow if it's a FireWire drive and even slower if it's USB but you'll be able to work and access your data).
Someone else may come along to suggest other things to try so if you are not in a hurry i'd give this post a little more time to be seen by others. I would make that clone or time machine backup, your choice, now though as most suggestions and recommendations you'll get are pretty invasive.

  • Upgraded to Mountain Lion, now my login password doesn't work

    Hello,
As the title says, I upgraded my iMac with Mountain Lion, and now my password doesn't work. I can't log in to the computer at all.
And no, I didn't forget it. It's been the same since I first got it (so an unfortunate hack on wireless wouldn't be out of the question...)
    Suggestions? Solutions?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Press Command and R keys while your computer is starting, go to Utilities > Terminal and type:
    resetpassword
Press Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. If it doesn't work, reset the password

  • Since my upgrade to mountain lion now my Italian language CDroms will not run, the message says PowerPC applications no longer supported.

    So am I just screwed?

Here is a post that I assembled for another who needed to continue to run his PowerPC applications in Lion/Mt. Lion:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions, or find alternative software that will open your data files;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.

What version of iPhoto are you running?  What happens when you try to launch iPhoto?  Any message?

  • Can not installed mountain lion msg" macintosh hd is using for time machine back up" please help

I downloaded mountain lion but can not install, msg" macintosh HD is using for time machine back up , how can I change that...thanks

Somehow, a Backups.backupdb folder got created on your startup drive.
You won't find it via a Spotlight or Finder search, so open your internal HD via the Finder.
That folder is at the top level.  Just delete it.
