Upgraded to newest iphoto and now cant access application

I upgraded to 08 and now when i try to download photos to facebook or other photo sharing site i can't access iphoto. It shows up in the application window but is not accessible.
I have no problem opening iphoto directly from desktop...just seems to be an issue when on a sharing site?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 Only*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

*For users of 10.4 and 10.5* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

MS-Office for Mac versions 2004 and older do not run in Lion since these are PPC-apps for which Apple has dropped support.

I switched libraries in IPhoto and now cannot access my photos

IPhoto 11 is a joke. Ever since I upgraded it, I have had nothing but problems. Now I switched a library and cannot get back to my original library. How do I do this? The genius bar did it yesterday. Today I'm right back where I started. HELP!!!!!

Upgraded itunes whilst abroad and now cant buy from store

I upgraded my itunes to version 7 whilst staying with a friend in Poland and after installation a message popped up saying that the itunes store is not available in this country so I cant download anything from the store.
My itunes worked fine before this, store and all. I am English not Polish but will be out here for another 4 months, what can I do????????

Just upgrade to 10.8 and now cant print to windows Share

Hi, I just took the plunge and upgraded to 10.8 My old system was 10.6. The problem is the college I work for has a mandate on printing that all print jobs must print through the windows print server. The printer vlan is not accessible to the general public, the queue must be accessed through their 2008 server. My previous installation procedure requires using the LPD path such as this lpd://server_name/queue_name We cannot print via SMB as this would require embedding your password into your key chain. We are forbiden to do this (i dont make the policies, i just follow them)
The type of printer is a xerox 7556, and I am using the latest driver version that supports 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 (it is version 2.71 from the xerox web site here is the link)

I have tried this exact driver with 10.6 and it works flawless
the problem is this:
when you are in your application (ie: safari, word, preview) and "File Print".... before you then verify your print settings and hit print there are 2 files already in the print queue called "Printer Status" and these will not print. They will fail with the error of 'Filter' failed 0 copies. once you then press Print the print job will get stuck behind these "printer status" jobs and if you delete the "printer status" jobs the actual print job is released and prints.
Its and odd one... I have checked a few other of the xerox drivers (7120 and 7755) and they seem to work without this problem. I am forced to use this driver as the machine requires accounting information and the accounting seems to be model specific.
Any thoughts?

It seems this is a on going problem that lots of folks have but Xerox does not want to address. From what I can tell, the driver sends a check printer status command to the printer that generates the printer status jobs in the queue. The request is not recognized by the Windows server therefore is ignored.
The command that issues the request can be commented out of the PPD, but that's difficult to support in an enterprise environment.
It would be a simple thing for Xerox to simply put a check box in their setup that would let you turn it off when installing the printer.
Xerox isn't the only one who is making this mistake. I've had the same issue with Ricoh printers.
Interesting side note: Mavericks does not seem to suffer from this issue.

I upgraded to version 5 and now cant open firefox due to error message about script

When I try and open version 5 I get this message " A script on this page may be busy or may have stopped responding, you can stop the script now or you can continue to see if the script will complete"

Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595. If I click the stop script button in the error message box firefox eventually opens, if I click the continue box it wont open. I have a fast computer with heaps of Ram and hard drive space running windows xp pro. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, then rebooted even gone back to an earlier restore point but it still wont work. please please can someone help me as version 4 was perfect. really frustrating as I love firefox:-(

Transfered all songs to an external drive and now cant access them

I thought I could move my songs to an external drive and still access them the same way I did when they were on my PC. I have the external drive plugged in Itunes gives a message "the song could not be used because the orriginal file could not be found. Would you like to locate it." I can then search and find it on the external drive one song at a time. I wnat the Itunes to work as if the song were in their orriginal location. Can this be done with out mooving them one by one back to an almost full hard drive?

Yes you could move everything back to your computer start over with a new a new library if you wish. Just so long as you aren't concerned about things like ratings or playlists or the number of times something was played etc. If the songs are all in one folder you could add that folder to your new library and it would bring all the songs with it just go to Edit>Add Folder to Library. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or open an existing one: Using multiple iTunes libraries -Windows

Purchased Lion before upgrading to newest leopard and now I can't get Lion on my computer!

I purchased Lion before I had done the CD upgrade to the latest Leopard Operating System.
Two days ago I finally installed the Leopard upgrade and my system was updated to Leopard 6.8. I think.. What ever the very last version was.
Then I went to purchase OS Lion forgetting I had purchased in the past and it told me I had previously purchased it so it would not allow me to repurchase it.
However I have no idea how to activate it and wonder if I've totally screwed things up by purchasing it before installing the latest Leopard which lion needs.
I know my comport is still running Leopard but don't even see where the files or whatever they are for Leopard or Lion.
I have an IMac from 2007 or 2008. It has a Core Duo processor.
I went to the Apple Store and she said I'd have to bring my computer in or call Apple and pay the.
Any thoughts, suggestions?

So I have the appropriate processor.
The suggestion to use the option key in the Mac App store on price key to have it switch to download but the price option isn't available any longer.
So I did the opt
Tion key with the download key and it asks for my apple id and after I provide that nothing happens so I do options key and download and nothing happens
Did same thing other day without options key.
Then I looked for the install Lion icon in my Applications folder but don't see it. Don't see any folders on my computer that deal with any operating system.
To clarify. I have the latest version of Leopard on my computer.
Please be nice to each other...I'm so grateful for your advice, thoughts, expertise.

I have tried direct connecting the iphone 4, via wifi, everything. I hate itunes with a passion, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I dont know why I would have no trouble with my iphone 3. I am using the same technique for both phones. Find the music I want in the library and drag it to the iphone. Works on IOS 6, not IOS 7.
WHat else should I try?

If you are having issues dragging music to your iPhone 4 after a recent upgrade to iOS 7, you may want to verify that the phone is still set to "Manually manage music and videos." You may find the following article helpful:

Are you asked for the password, when you run the installer for iPhoto Library upgrader?
Then the installer is asking you for the password of your administrator account. You need to authorize the installation.

Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.
