Upgraded to windows 10 but my hp s2031 monitor flickers

I upgraded to windows 10 but the monitor looks like it only goes up to 8. Need a driver available for 10. I ran a system check for I installed windows 10 and it was fine. Only problem is the monitor. Could anybody help please?

2 possible solutions,
1. You installed software for XP, if so uninstall the software then download and install this Vista software
2. Remove the memory card from the camer and insert into a card reader if you have one.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have to format your Windows volume and install Windows 7. First, insert the Windows 7 DVD and hold the C key while your computer is starting. Then, follow the steps and, at partitioning step, choose your Windows volume (it's the last volume listed in your display), choose Advanced options, and format it. Then, install Windows.
Finally, after installing it, install the Boot Camp support software > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630
Windows 8 is only compatible with some new computers. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634

  • ITunes no longer finds music on another PC upgraded to Windows 8

We store all of our music on a central home theater PC, and the itunes library running on a Vista laptop refers to all of these files.
Windows on the laptop has no issues still accessing the music files on the PC after upgrading to Windows 8 but now iTunes can't locate any of the files.
iTunes says it can't locate them, but if you look at the location in the info pane is says something like file://localhost//HTPC/Family/Music etc. which seems perfectly reasonable to me.

That wasn't it. The problem was that the network share on Vista was lost when I upgraded to Windows 8. I finally figured this out after much frustration only to find that letting another PC share all a user's files makes ALL the Windows 8 Metro apps crash!
The way I fixed it was to use "net share Family=c:\users\family"
There didn't seem to be any way to do this through the Windows 8 GUI
Then I had to allow sharing for "everyone" on all the Family files
Now iTunes finds all the files where it used to

  • Hp hdx18 touch buttons are not working after upgrading to windows 7

    hey,
i upgraded to windows 7 but touch the buttons have stoped working (like the treble&bass), so wt should i do!

For Treble&Bass functionality on HDX16 and HDX18 install the Tone Control driver SP45617.exe
For Touch buttons install QuickLaunch driver SP45058.exe
Before installing Tone Control you need to have the IDT audio driver for HDX16/HDX18 installed - SP45011.exe

  • Upgrading to Windows 8 on Bootcamp

    Hi all,
Currently, I have Windows 7 installed on a separate partition on my rMBP's SSD.
I want to upgrade to Windows 8 but do I install it in the current Windows 7 itself, or do/can I install it from Bootcamp Assistant in OSX?
My worry is that if I do the former, my OSX partition will be wiped out along with Windows 7.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Cheers.

I'm unsure what process to take, but as of right now Apple hasn't released any drivers for Windows 8 so technically its not fully compatible with Bootcamp at this time.

  • WiFi (Key) stopped working after upgrade to Windows 10

I thought I would post this on the forum for those who are having the same problem because help for this issue is few and far between compared to the number of pleas for assistance from HP owners. When I upgraded to Windows 10 on my Pavilion, the WiFi stopped working and I could not turn it on using the hot key (F12). I searched for answers and worked hours trying to solve it until I came upon the only suggestion that worked for me: I had to disable fast boot (power options, change what the buttons do, "change settings that are currently unavailable" (?!?)) , so I could get into the bios and then I went into the bios by pressing f10 during boot.  Reset them to defaults.  (Changed from default back to what I wanted) saved and the wifi button turned white after pressing during windows 10 boot up. EDIT: If it does not turn on right away, try turning it on through the wifi settings. I hope this can help a few, who like me, struggled endlessly for a problem that few HP mods seem to be responding to. Cheers.

Put your part number (PSKK2U-028002) in here. It will take you to a page that has 12 Windows 10-compatible downloads. Unfortunately, a WiFi driver is not one of them.
    But there is this:
Your selected Toshiba PC is supported for upgrade to Windows 10, but not all of the software for the upgrade is available at this time. Additional software will be posted here when it is ready. Please check back at a later time.

  • Notebook overheating while upgrading to Windows 10

I got the notification to upgrade my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits to Windows 10. When I start it, it prepares the installation, resets, and boots into the Windows 10 installation screen. This is where things go wild. The fan start spinning in a absurd speed, and after a few minutes the notebook shuts down. When I touched the keyboard, it was really hot - surprised it didn't melt. I turned it back on, it said "Restoring Windows 7", the fan starts spinning again, and once more the notebook shuts down due to overheat. Even after two forced shutdowns, my files were intact and the system wasn't corrupted for some reason, but it went back to Windows 7.
The fans are clean and I even suspended the notebook to allow the air flow beneath it. It didn't help. All drivers and BIOS are up to date too. This model overheats since the day I bought it, I was stupid not to ask for a refund and now it's too late. I want to upgrade to Windows 10, but I'm really affraid to corrupt my system in one of those overheating shutdowns. It's ridiculous that I can't perform a simple OS upgrade due to hardware's fault.
The model is a HP Pavillion g4-2119br, with an AMD A10-4600M CPU and AMD Radeon HD 7660G graphic card.
Is there anything I can do to fix that?
    Thanks!

I have had exactly the same issue.  I had to do a factory reset, then I tried upgrading again with a clean system. Exactly the same thing happened.

  • Can't enter BIOS or upgrade to Windows 10

I've spent all day trying to upgrade to Windows 10, but have just received one error after another. I've tried Windows' update troubleshooter (which says that it fixes an error, but I still get errors trying to update to Windows 10) and doing the update via MediaCreationToolx64.exe, but nothing seems to help (although sometimes it changes the error code).  Finally I decided to do a clean install of Windows 8.1, and then maybe I'll try to update to 10 again. So I created a bootable USB of Windows 8.1 (using Microsoft's mediacreationtool.exe). However, I'm unable to enter the BIOS on this computer. When I start it up, there is no text telling me what to press to enter the BIOS. Googling tells me that F2 is the normal key, but that doesn't work (with our without FN). I've tried all of the other F-number keys with and without FN, but none of them work. I've tried updating the BIOS using this: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-u-series-laptops/ideapad-u410/downloads/ds101011 However, when I try that, I just get the message: "ERROR 182 - BIOS image is equal or older than ROM!" How can I do a clean install of Windows 8.1?

Thanks! The recovery button worked.  I then did a clean install of Windows 10 directly over Windows 8.1, and it worked fine! I know all the websites say that you need to do the update first, and then do a clean install, but I didn't, and now Windows 10 is working fine and says that it's activated.

  • P745-S4217 Utility Common Driver for Upgrade to Windows 10

I have a Satellite P745-S4217 laptop running Windows 7 64bit and I want to upgrade to Windows 10, but I am getting the following message:  The app developers haven't made these apps compatible with Windows 10, so they won't work.  Check with the developers for support.             Utility Common Driver            Toshiba I ran a search on my computer and find no "Utility Common Driver".  I have searched on the internet with Toshiba and in general to see if I can download this driver and I do not find it anywhere, only how to uninstall it.  I do see that my Model is not on the list of models that are compatible for Windows 10.  So my question for Toshiba is...... 1) Are you working on making all models available for upgrade to Windows 10 or am I out of luck? 2) If you are working on it, when can I expect to be able to download this driver so I can download Windows 10?3) Should my computer have had the Utility Common driver when I bought this laptop new? If anyone knows of the answers to these questions, I'd appreciate any feedback.

I am also having the same issue with a P55, Please make support for windows 10 I reallly want to use a faster OS.

  • W510- anyone upgrading to windows 10?

so, i got the message in tray for windows 10 update. I recerved my copy, anyone else updating this way, or should I do it another way?

Hi, I just did the same thing. Reserved the Win10 upgrade for W510. Microsoft informs us that they have already checked if our computer is compatible with the upgrade to Windows 10,but will the upgrade be supported by Acer? Acer says they will announce on the launch-date (29jul) which tablets they will support, for this update/upgrade. It would have been easier if Acer told us right now if our tablet will be compatible with Windows 10. Is the W510 compatible with the Windows 10 upgrade by July 10.? I think it is wise to wait until the Acer announcement has been made, and await some results from other users , before giving the GO for this upgrade... Greetings,

  • Recovery disc creation after upgrade to Windows 7

My laptop was supplied by Toshiba loaded with Vista. It was eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7. I did this. Problem is that the recovery disc is for Vista.
How do I make a recovery disc for my laptop, as it is now Windows 7 operating system?

I bought my laptop about 18 months ago. It was preinstalled with Vista. I was notified by Toshiba that certain laptops recently bought would be eligible for a free online update. My laptop qualified for this & I duly updated online to Windows 7. I am aware that the recovery disc I have now is Vista. I was pleased that Toshiba gave me a free upgrade to Windows 7, but the situation now is that if I need to install/repair Windows 7, I do not have a recovery disc.
As explained earlier, my only option appears to be reinstallation of Vista & then paying to reinstall Windows 7 - a lengthy, cumbersome &expensive process.

  • Hp s2031 monitor will not receive premium channels from cable tv, due to hdcp. what to do?

I am moving to a building with only cable tv reception. I plan on ditching an old, huge (not flat screen) tv and will use my hp s2031 monitor with a tv tuner that will receive from a cable connection.  I will gladly pay for premium channels like hbo, starz, etc., but my hp s2031 monitor has HDCP, which apparently will block premium channels.  Am I incorrect?  Surely hp has a fix for people who are willing to pay for content. I cannot afford a new monitor, and I do not want to lug my current giant to the new location. The screen on my laptop is much smaller.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

You are incorrect. HDCP (high definition content protect) prevents HD content from being sent over analog signaling. Since your HP s2031 monitor has both VGA (analog) and DVI-D (digital) inputs, you will need to use the DVI-D input to watch HD content. Your cable box will most likely have a HDMI output. To use this with your monitor will require a HDMI-to-DVI cable.

  • After upgrading to Windows 8.1 firefox longer works. I got it to load but screen is either blank or doesn't go to target address

after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from 8 nothing works correctly. Firefox 1st received 'unable to load XPcom' After resetting and uninstalling several times Firefox now loads to either a support screen or blank screen. It accepts address input but doesn't execute to target. So far I have been unable to roll back upgrade.
Although IE11 works, it doesn't work correctly.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If you keep having problems then do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
