Upgraded to Windows 10 now scanner only sees camera for Twain input

With the upgrade to windows 10 i found that there was a new firmware update for my M1217nfw which I downloaded and installed. I also ran the "docter" software and it found no problems. However when I use the 'Scan To' function the scanner comes up and only sees the camera on my laptop as a TWAIN device and not the scanner. The print function works fine.

Unplug the printer, and uninstall it. Then download the Windows 7 CP1215 plug and play driver package from www.hp.com. Install the printer using that package.

Reinstall it. If you don't have an install disk, download the trial from http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html and use your serial number to activate it. Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page before proceeding to the download.

Check your Apple TV is connected to the internet and that your iTunes store location is set correctly.
Try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general. You should also try restarting your router.

Upgraded to Windows 7, now iTunes thinks it's a new computer and is making me authorize it

My computer was recently upgraded to Windows 7, and iTunes now thinks it's a new computer and is forcing me to authorize it as a new one (which uses the number of computers I can authorize). Not only that, but it's making me do it more than once, so this same laptop has now been authorized 3 times. Any way to let iTunes know it's confused, and/or to put it back? Also since the upgrade it will only download sporadic episodes of TV seasons I have purchased, not sure if it's related....

Go into iTunes, select the iTunes store, and in the upper right hand corner of the browser, you'll see your account name. Clikc on that, and you'll access an area where you can edit the details about your account. One of the choices is to de-autorize all your computers. Do that. Then authorize the one you want.

Stream 7 - Upgrade to Windows 10 now or wait a while? What's the consensus?

At this point, I'm wondering if it is recommended to upgrade now or to wait. I tried installing Windows 10 yesterday and the installation failed during the last stages and reverted to 8.1. I'm wondering if it had something to do with the amount of disk space (yesterday, I had less than 8gb. Today (after some cleaning), I have 11.8gb. Also, I'd rather not have to deal with driver issues and other things mentioned in other threads. Can I get some insight?

Seems to be just slightly less snappy with Windows 10 vs 8, especially when it comes to complicated websites that embed video. But the charms menu is much improved, so much easier to turn off/on bluetooth and lots of other stuff. I am trying to figure out how to put an IE11 window because I prefer that over Edge (no adblock list). I've never had the headphone buzz issue with my tablet, so others can chime in if upgrading to Windows 10 solves this for them or not. For most people and even for myself eventually before the month is up, if you are happy with 8.1, stick with it, I don't see where this really changes anything for now. P.S. - One thing, I didn't have much stuff installed but after installing Windows 10, I had 1 gb of memory left. So if your 8.1 tablet has a lot of stuff stored on it or not much storage space, I would recommend saving your stuff to an SD card before upgrading, you might not have enough drive space.

Upgraded to Windows 10 now I have no sound

I did the free home upgrade to Windows 10 and now the hardware has changed.
I have a different audio which "it" says is working fine but I have no sound at all. Nothing, Nada, Zip. I cannot find the 'control panel' to even begin to try to work it back, nor do I appear to have the original sound hardware loaded.

I have the exact same problem. I bought an HP Pavilion All-in-One -23-q014 (Touch) yesterday and installed the free upgrade to Windows 10 during the installation process. Everything seems to be working fine, except I have NO sound at all. I already updated the Realtek driver through the Device manager and Windows says its up to date and working fine, but still NO sound. Please help.

I recently upgraded from Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Ultimate and my Base System Device and Fingerprint Reader isn't working. I've tried reading advice off of some forums here and even checked out what I can download from this site and also tried updating but each time it either says could not find updates, or when I try dowloading from this site it says the program may have not installed correctly. Ah if only life were so simple. I have been without a soundcard ever since upgrading to Windows 7, have spent hours on the Lenovo site trying to locate a driver, filling in all those little boxes, time after time to no avail. The drivers, if they exist at all, are being kept secret. There can be no other explanation. Have the same problem with the fingerprint thingy, but not bothered as the kids had learnt to bypass it anyway.
Enjoying windows 7 in complete silence. If anyone wants to advise downloading a driver then fantastic, but give us a clue where it is hidden.

Upgraded to Windows 10 - Now Roboform not working in Firefox

There are also some workarounds mentioned here.
Also, Roboform makes no statement that they support Windows 10 yet.

I did the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my home computer.
I use Firefox and RoboForm (form filler, password keeper, etc.). The RoboForm toolbar is there but it has a little red X int he lower left corner on the icon which you click to access the settings.
If I click on it and choose Options and User Data I can see the location of my data file. However, it's as though the program can't access it.
I have tried moving the file, resetting things, etc. but only get error messages or "RoboForm User Data is not Defined." Won't let me create a new account. Nothing.
This has been a three hour frustration for me. Everything was fine before the upgrade.

T61 upgraded to Windows 7, now can't install Rescue and Recovery or Bios update.

I have a T61 6459 CTO that had XP SP3 on it. I upgraded to WIndows 7. I tried to install TVTVRNR450_025en, but I get an error msg "Rescue and Recovery does not support installing from the Operating System which upgrade from a legacy pre-load system." I tried deleting all old RNR and CSS programs in the old files after the install, but nothing seems to work. There is nothing listed in my add/remove programs. My Thinkvantage button doesn't work. How do I remove the old RNR? Should I have done that prior to installing Windows 7? Do I need to re-install my XP backup and start over? My Bios update extracts, but doesn't install. Help!

I did some research and was able to find this thread from Lenovo Forums. There are a few other people having similar issues. For some, installing an older version of Rescue and Recovery (sometimes even the one for their OS before the upgrade) would work fine. For some, however, they could not get it to work, so they would create backups manually using Windows.
As for the BIOS issue, what version are you currently running and to what version are you trying to upgrade?

right upgraded to windows 10 on my es1-511 everythin working ok but one problem when i boot up form start it takes ages for windows 10 to come on to my screen its very slow takes a few mins to and sometimes takes a few attempts to actually get it on help

Try running a refresh and see if that fixes it, or you can go back and upgrade again to see if that fixes it.

IChat only sees camera as microphone

I just bought a Creative Live! Cam Video IM (VF0350). When I bring up iChat, the video tab changes to audio and it only sees it as a microphone and not as a camera. It says that there isn't a camera hooked up to the computer. Is there any way to get the video to work? I know the camera is good because it works on my Vista machine.

There appears to be no Mac Driver.
The Product page says it is a USB 1.1 Camera (again the VFH number maybe different)

I see no mention of it being UVC Compliant.
UVC = USB Video Class and these are generally USB 2.0 cameras and don't need drivers for Vista or for Macs after OS 10.4.9 (that have USB 2.0 ports)
macam is a Third Party Driver for Macs
It's list says there are two versions, one of which maybe UVC

The Numbers in the 5th and 6th columns should help you to tell which it is in the System Profiler (The Apple iCon in the Menu Bar > About this Mac > More Info Button > Hardware > USB)
If it is non UVC then you will need either a Creative Mac Driver if they do on or the macam Driver -THEN- for iChat you will also need iUSBCam a Utility specifically for getting USB Video into iChat.

you can find drivers for the L440 on the following support site. I would suggest installing the chipset driver before the graphics driver if you haven't already installed it.

Recent upgrade to 10.4, now iPhoto only is in Finnish!

I recently installed 10.4 and upgrades to 10.4.11. Everything seems to be working perfectly, except that iPhoto is now in Finnish or possibly Swedish. System is in US English, as are all other apps that I've launched so far.
Has anyone seen this before, and is there anything I can do about it?

Nope, 2 to 3 was a paid upgrade, same 3 to 4, 4 to 5, 5 to 6, 6 to 7, (see how much money you saved! ), by buying iLife... or a new iMac or such.
