Upgradeproblem

Hello im trying to upgrade my new bought final cut studio but gets this strange message:
This updater is only able to update an existing Final Cut Pro 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2, or 5.0.3 application. Please make sure the application is located in the Applications folder, and is called "Final Cut Pro".
I´ve got the final cut 5.0.1 in applications???????

Shut Down and boot up again. Try again.
Make sure the name of the app in the Applications folder is exactly 'Final Cut Pro', without the apostrophes. (Or, if you have Finder set to show extensions, 'Final Cut Pro.app'.

  • Saved format changed to Unix Executable

I have a file saved on a CD that I wanted to get in to but found it is now a Unix Executable file. I have no idea what is going on with this - it was originally (probably) a simple text or text edit file .... maybe a word file but doubt it.
Why is it now this Unix file format - any ideas how something like this happens.
    Very confused here.

Doing some detective work in google and found some info. Does anyone know the type and creator codes for SimpleText or TextEdit.
